Congratulations Pouring In For Brent Musburger On Wednesday
Congratulations are pouring in for legendary college football announcer Brent Musburger on Wednesday.
Musburger, 86, is of course best known for calling college football games. He was on the call of several iconic college football games on ABC and ESPN during the 2000s and 2010s. Musburger is no longer calling college football games, as he now lives in Las Vegas and works on the Raiders' radio broadcasts.
But Musburger will be making a big return to the national broadcasting booth this weekend. The legendary college football announcer will be on the call of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night.
It's a special honor.
Musburger, who won the 2025 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award, will be honored by NBC during the game.
The iconic college football announcer will do a sideline interview with NBC's Maria Taylor before joining Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth in the booth for the second half of the game.
It's a fun honor.
Fans are loving it.
"🚨🚨THIS IS AMAZING🚨🚨 Legendary announcer Brent Musburger will be joining NBC's booth for the Detroit #Lions versus Los Angeles #Chargers Hall of Fame Game tomorrow night. 👏👏👏 A great way to honor Musburger at the home of the Hall of Fame, Canton, Ohio," one fan wrote.
"How great is this!" one fan added.
"So good!" another fan added.
"That's phenomenal!" one fan added.
"Hell yeah legend," another fan wrote.
Musburger is known for more than college football, too
While Musburger is perhaps best known by the current generation for his work alongside Kirk Herbstreit, he has done work with nearly every major sport.
Musburger was the first host of CBS's NFL coverage and he was also on the call for several big-time Super Bowls. He did a lot of college basketball and NBA work, too. Musburger is credited by many for coming up with the March Madness phrase, which is now worth millions.
The iconic college football announcer loves to talk gambling, too. He lives out in Las Vegas and would often make subtle references to the spread during his broadcasts.
We look forward to watching him perform on the air on Thursday evening.
Kickoff between the Lions and the Chargers is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. E.T. The game will air on NBC.

Makai Lemon named to 2025 Biletnikoff Award watch list
There is no doubt that USC football star Makai Lemon is one of the most electrifying receivers in college football. Given his production last year, expectations are getting even higher for him. Lemon last year put up great numbers without constant stability at the USC quarterback position. He used his versatility to make big plays for the Trojans every Saturday. Last season Lemon led the Trojans in receptions (52) and receiving yards (764). His big play ability was not limited to just the offensive side of the ball. He was also a reliable threat in the return game. Makai Lemon fielded 19 kick returns for 514 yards, with his longest return reaching 80 yards, solidifying him as the sixth-best kick returner in the country. Makai Lemon was named to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award watch list. He can also be a candidate for the Paul Hornung Award in 2025. It could be a really special season filled with accolades and success. Lemon wants to establish himself as a first round receiver in next year's NFL draft. Makai Lemon has the talent to be great. With an offseason full of building chemistry with starting quarterback Jayden Maiva and Ja'Kobi Lane -- another talented receiver on the opposite side of the field -- last season's impressive stats should only be the beginning for what Lemon will do in his career. 'The Paper' trailer: 'The Office' spinoff teases this character's return
"The Paper" is Peacock's new spinoff of "The Office," the original NBC sitcom which starred Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer. The creator of "The Office" is back to take on another struggling industry. Peacock has released the first trailer for "The Paper," the new spinoff of "The Office" that centers on a local newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. In the show, the same documentary crew that followed Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch in "The Office" pursues a new subject: a publisher's attempt to revive the Toledo Truth Teller newspaper. While "The Paper" mostly features new characters, one "Office" alum returns: Oscar Nuñez as Oscar Martinez, who worked as an accountant at Dunder Mifflin Scranton. Oscar immediately recognizes the documentary team in the trailer, and he wants no part in their project. "Not again! I'm not agreeing to any of this," he tells the camera before cursing so they can't use his footage. Domhnall Gleeson stars in "The Paper" as the newspaper's new editor-in-chief, who makes it his mission to improve the publication. While the central comedy in "The Office" typically derived from Michael Scott (Steve Carell) being an incompetent manager, Gleeson's Ned Sampson appears to be a more capable and well-intentioned boss. The humor in the trailer stems from the uphill battle of the task before him. 'The Office' producer explains why 'The Paper' isn't exactly a spinoff 'The Paper' cast Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key also star in "The Paper," which comes from "The Office" creator Greg Daniels. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who created the original British version of "The Office," serve as executive producers. Here's when 'The Office' spinoff 'The Paper' will premiere: What to know Daniels previously told USA TODAY that "The Paper" is "technically" a spinoff of "The Office" because Oscar is in both shows. "But you know, it isn't like the story of Oscar in a new land," he said. Daniels described "The Paper" as a show "about journalism in the modern age," adding, "They're following a very idealistic person who is really trying to swim against the tide." During a May presentation to advertisers in New York, Gleeson also noted that the series focuses on "underdog characters that are banding together to keep journalism alive." "The Paper" will be the first follow-up to "The Office" since the acclaimed sitcom ended its run in 2013, though it's not the first attempt at continuing the show. A Season 9 episode of "The Office," "The Farm," was originally intended to launch a spinoff about Dwight Schrute's (Rainn Wilson) farm, which never ultimately came to pass. When does 'The Paper' debut? "The Paper" will debut its first four episodes on Peacock on Sept. 4. After that, two new episodes will be released each Thursday through Sept. 25.
