
UAE's Booming Asset Management Sector Fuels Demand for Finance and IT Roles
Finance and Banking Professionals in High Demand
The report highlights that fundraising and institutional sales professionals are among the most sought-after candidates, with businesses valuing their industry expertise and regional networks. Compliance professionals with authorisations from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) are also in high demand. Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs) and Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) are particularly sought after due to increasing regulatory scrutiny.
Jon Ede, Regional Director UAE at Michael Page, stated, 'In 2024, the workforce grew by 9 per cent, and the number of new companies increased by 14.5 per cent. These numbers reflect the success of the UAE's strategic initiatives, solidifying its position as a top destination for businesses and talent alike.'
Salary Insights in Banking and Finance
Senior banking and finance professionals continue to command high salaries. Heads of wholesale banking can expect an average monthly salary of Dh100,000, while senior relationship managers earn approximately Dh37,000 per month.
Sales and Marketing Sector Sees Steady Growth
The UAE's sales and marketing sector is also experiencing steady expansion, particularly in B2B industries. Increased investments in technology, real estate, energy, and logistics have heightened the demand for skilled professionals in business development, key account management, and strategic sales.
Key positions in this sector include Business Development Manager, Chief Commercial Officer, and Strategic Sales Director. Country managers in the UAE can expect salaries averaging Dh48,000 per month, while key account managers earn up to Dh26,000. Meanwhile, Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) command some of the highest pay packages, with average monthly earnings of Dh90,000.
IT Sector Witnesses Rising Demand
The UAE's digital landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, with increased demand for skilled professionals in the IT sector. The top five positions in demand include head of software development, full-stack software engineer, agile product manager, senior DevOps engineer, and digital adoption specialist.
Salaries in this field remain competitive, with a head of digital marketing earning between Dh35,000 and Dh60,000 per month.
Addressing the Skills Shortage
The report also highlights the growing skills shortage as a major challenge for businesses. According to Michael Page, 37 per cent of business leaders have struggled to find candidates with the right expertise, while nearly one in three (30 per cent) face difficulties in retaining top talent. Furthermore, 48 per cent of employers cite aligning salary expectations with candidates as a key hurdle.
Ede emphasized that offering a comprehensive package—including benefits, career development opportunities, and workplace incentives—can help businesses attract and retain top professionals in an increasingly competitive job market.

Al Ain Court Orders Man To Pay Dh160,000 In Fake Investment Case
The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a man to pay Dh160,000 to another in connection with a fraudulent investment scheme. According to court documents, the plaintiff stated that the defendant convinced him he owned private companies and solicited funds to invest on his behalf. Believing the claims, the plaintiff handed over Dh150,000 in two instalments, documented by a signed receipt. Soon after, the defendant allegedly began avoiding communication and eventually stopped answering calls. A forensic accounting expert appointed by the court found that the defendant had proposed a partnership in trade and foodstuffs, acknowledged receiving the money, and entered into an informal investment agreement with the plaintiff. However, the defendant failed to honour the agreed terms, later claiming the capital had been lost and refusing to provide accurate partnership accounts. The court ruled in favour of the plaintiff, ordering repayment of the Dh150,000 principal along with Dh20,000 in damages. The judgment also included 12 per cent annual legal interest from the date of filing until full settlement, in addition to court fees and expenses.

Appeals Court Allows BD20,000 Gulf Verdict To Take Effect
The Supreme Civil Appeals Court has ruled that a BD20,000 judgment issued by a court in a Gulf country in a commercial dispute is enforceable in Bahrain. The decision came in response to a case filed by a Gulf-based businessman against a local contracting company over unpaid commercial transactions. The court overturned an earlier lower court ruling that had rejected the enforcement request on the grounds that the foreign judgment was not final. However, appeals judges found the ruling to be conclusive and binding, as the appeal window had passed. Lawyer Abrar Bukheet, representing the claimant, said her client had initially filed the case in his home country after a business dispute with the Bahraini company's owner. The foreign court ordered the defendant to pay nearly BD20,000 in penalties and outstanding dues. A retrial request was denied, prompting the claimant to seek enforcement through Bahrain's courts. The appeals court cited Bahrain's Civil and Commercial Execution Law, which allows enforcement of foreign judgments under reciprocal terms— provided certain conditions are met. These include confirming that Bahraini courts had no jurisdiction over the case, that due process was followed, the ruling was final, and it did not conflict with any previous Bahraini judgment. The court confirmed that the Gulf ruling met all requirements, including carrying the executory formula and the authority of res judicata. It accepted the appeal, overturned the lower court's decision, and approved enforcement of the foreign judgment within the Kingdom.

Three Convicted In Riyadh For Commercial Concealment In Mobile Accessories Trade
The Ministry of Commerce has publicly named two Saudi citizens and a Yemeni resident after they were convicted of engaging in a commercial concealment scheme involving the sale of mobile phone accessories in Riyadh. According to a ruling by the Criminal Court in Riyadh, the Saudi business owner and his agent were found guilty of allowing the Yemeni resident to operate the business independently, without a foreign investment license. The resident was granted full control over the establishment's operations and was found to have financial dealings far exceeding his declared income as a sales representative, transferring illicit profits abroad. The court imposed a SR15,000 fine to be shared among the convicted individuals, revoked the business license, cancelled the commercial registration, and ordered the business to be liquidated. It also mandated the collection of all due taxes, zakat, and government fees. The convicted Saudis were banned from engaging in commercial activity, while the Yemeni national will be deported and barred from re-entering the Kingdom for work. The Ministry of Commerce reaffirmed that under the Anti-Concealment Law, penalties can reach up to five years in prison and SR5 million in fines, along with the seizure of illicit funds once a final verdict is issued.
