Is Tottenham vs Manchester United on TV? Kick-off time, channel and how to watch Premier League fixture

Yahoo22-07-2025
Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United in the Premier League today, with the league's two most underwhelming sides set to face off in the capital.
Ange Postecoglou's Spurs sat in 14th in the table going into the weekend – with just 27 points – having exited both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, with questions persisting around the Australian's future at the club.

And things are not much better at United, with Ruben Amorim's side sitting just two points and one place above Spurs.
The Portuguese's start to life at Old Trafford has been underwhelming so far, and while they have taken a place in the last 16 of the Europa League alongside Spurs, it's now a fact that success in that competition is the only potential positive that either club can take from an otherwise disappointing season.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of the match.
When is Tottenham vs Manchester United?
The match kicks off at 4.30pm on Sunday, 16 February at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

How can I watch the match?
The match will be shown live in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League, with coverage starting at 4pm. If you're not a Sky customer, you can grab a NOWTV Day Pass to watch without a subscription.
Confirmed line-ups
Tottenham XI: Vicario, Porro, Danso, Davies, Spence, Bentancur, Bergvall, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son, Tel
Man Utd XI: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire; Dalot, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Garnacho, Zirkzee; Hojlund
What is the team news?
Tottenham welcome back goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, for his first start since breaking his ankle against Manchester City in November! There is also a return for James Maddison, while Archie Gray and MIkey Moore drop out. Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson are back on the bench.

Amorim indicated Mason Mount, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Altay Bayindir will remain out on Sunday, with their new setbacks seeing some academy players called up for training.
Manchester United start both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, with Amad Diallo ruled out. Casemiro comes into midfield and partners Bruno Fernandes - that's because there's no Manuel Ugarte or Kobbie Mainoo in the squad.
To add to that, Christian Eriksen and Leny Yoro are both ill, leaving Ruben Amorim's squad looking very thin indeed.
There are eight teenagers on the United bench: Harry Amass , Ayden Heaven, Elyh Harrison Tyler Fredricson, Jack Fletcher, Sekou Kone , Jack Moorhouse and Chido Obi.

Prediction
This could well be the Premier League's most difficult match to predict, with neither manager knowing exactly what kind of performance they'll get from their side. The two sides' meeting in the Carabao Cup in December was a comedy of errors and lack of quality, and this could well be the same.
Tottenham 2-2 Manchester United.

Steve Smith eclipsed by Ashes rivals in the Hundred

Steve Smith has declared his debut in the Hundred tournament as "fun," but it didn't appear a barrel of laughs for him to be thoroughly eclipsed at Headingley by a couple of Ashes batting rivals. Smith, who hopes his long awaited bow in English cricket's premier white-ball tournament could help him cement a place in Australia's T20 plans and eventually lead to Olympic gold in Los Angeles, made a decent bow for the Welsh Fire. Put in to bat by the Northern Superchargers on Thursday evening in Leeds, he scored 29 off just 18 balls and enjoyed a brisk 62-run opening partnership with old Ashes foe Jonny Bairstow. 🎳 Steve Smith🤲 Luke Wells Matthew Potts has changed the match for Northern Superchargers! ⚡️#TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 7, 2025 But after the visitors had been held to 9-143 off their 100 balls, the home side waltzed the chase with Zak Crawley and Harry Brook, stand-outs in the thrilling Test series draw with India, easing Superchargers to 2-147 and an eight-wicket stroll with 11 deliveries still remaining. The 36-year-old Smith had looked sharp enough as he whipped one off his legs off Matthew Potts over the legside boundary and also smashed a straight drive back at poor old Mohammad Amir so hard that the unfortunate Pakistani had to have his ankle strapped as he went sprawling in agony. Then, attempting an uncomfortable looking reverse sweep off Potts, Smith got bowled off his tangled up legs. "It's been good fun. Unfortunately, got out to an ordinary one out there today, but I was feeling pretty good," shrugged Smith. Smith and Fire captain Bairstow (42 off 23) had put on 62 in 37 balls in what looks as if it could prove a fruitful partnership. Smith hit a couple of boundaries to go with his six but would doubtless love to have scored a few more, especially after revealing how he hopes to be sending Australia coach Andrew McDonald a few texts from England about his feats in the Hundred. Smith's enjoyed his initial spell in Wales in the Mike Hussey-coached side alongside other fellow Aussies, Chris Green and Riley Meredith, who both did their best with the ball to keep the Fire in the hunt. Green conceded just 23 off his 19 deliveries and Meredith (2-33 off his 20) took the only two wickets to fall - Dawid Malan for 41 and Michael Pepper for four. Harry Brook hits his first ball for 6 runs. Standard. 🫡#TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 7, 2025 But it all proved in vain as Brook, fresh from being named England's player of the Test series against India on Monday, switched seamlessly into white-ball mode, crunching Meredith's 90mph delivery for a monstrous cover-driven six first ball when he came to the crease with 44 still needed. He whacked another maximum with an outrageous square drive before Crawley finished the job, ending up with five fours and four sixes to his name. Smith is now looking forward to facing the London Spirit on his home Cardiff debut on Saturday.

Chargers LT Rashawn Slater suffered torn patellar tendon, will undergo season-ending surgery

Los Angeles Chargers tackle Rashawn Slater has suffered a torn patellar tendon, the team announced Thursday. He will undergo season-ending surgery. Slater went down in practice Thursday morning with a left leg injury, and had to be carted off the field. A player appeared to fall on Slater's leg during an 11-on-11 drill, causing the tackle to go down, via The Athletic's Daniel Popper. Slater was tended to by trainers for two minutes before the cart came out, with teammates gathering around the cart as Slater was loaded onto it. He could not put any weight on his left leg, and threw his helmet and slammed his hand into the cart, seemingly in frustration, before burying his face in his hands, per Popper. The injury comes just a week and a half after the Chargers made Slater the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history, signing the fifth-year tackle to a four-year, $114 million extension. The contract includes $92 million in guaranteed money. It's a brutal loss for the Chargers, especially before the start of the season. Slater has been the primary blindside protector for Justin Herbert since the team drafted him at No. 13 overall in 2021. The 26-year-old LT has been named to two Pro Bowls: He earned the nod his rookie season and was invited back last season after another stellar year. With Slater out for the season, the Chargers will have to turn to its depth chart to replace him. Trey Pipkins III (LT/RT) and Ryan Nelson (LT) are listed as the two potential backups to Slater in the O-Line.
