'My side hustle made nearly £50K in weeks as I went from being broke to luxury'
After spending so long worrying about her low income, one savvy woman has revealed how she now lives financially free after taking the plunge with her side hustle
A woman has revealed exactly how she went from living pay-check to pay-check to a life of luxury - all thanks to a side hustle people thought was "silly". Olivia Duckert started off working in a job that paid her £1,200 a month, but has managed to rake in nearly £50,000 in 10 weeks.
The 22-year-old claimed she can make up to £9,000 a day thanks to doing digital marketing all from her phone. She learnt everything she needed to know from an online course, and said anyone can do it as you don't need any qualifications or a degree.
The entrepreneur claimed she was suffering a burnout and has managed to change her life. Now she spends her mornings doing Pilates and drinking Starbucks rather than rushing around and going into the office.
Olivia detailed that her job involves selling digital products such as guides, planners and courses online. She said during her initial course, she was given products to use when she started the course, so she then edited them andre-branded them to make them her own - making 100% of the profit on them.
"I was burnt out. I was exhausted. I just knew that something needed to change", she revealed in a video on Instagram. She then said she managed to make the money back she spent on the course in just six days and added: "I'm now a five figure business owner and I live every single day on my own terms.
"I am honestly so grateful that I decided to actually take the leap." Despite being scared to start digital marketing, she told her followers she wished she'd done it sooner. She has started offering out her advice and knowledge to others who are eager to start their own side hustle like hers.

Olivia opened up about her journey on Instagram where she said for so long she was "stuck in survival mode-juggling bills, trying to stay afloat, and constantly waiting for the weekend to feel a glimpse of peace. It was draining."
However she hit a breaking point in 2024 and knew she needed more for herself - but didn't know how. She added: "I'd watch others travel, treat their families, and enjoy life while I felt stuck in a loop. By April 2025, I'd had enough. I started exploring digital marketing and selling digital products from my phone- just hoping to make a little extra on the side."
She said she didn't expect it to change everything, and in just 10 weeks claims to have made over £45,000 alongside everything else, and is happy she can now treat her loved ones, take slow mornings and breathe. The post gushed: "And knowing that I'm building something that gives me freedom? That's priceless & Joy doesn't have to be expensive, but having the freedom to actually live? That's the game-changer."
In a separate video, Olivia revealed she made £9,000 in just one day. She took a video as she did her hair and wrote over the top: "Actual footage of me getting ready to head out shopping for the day, knowing that I no longer have any financial stresses as yesterday alone I earned over £9,000 from my phone."

Starbucks' makes shock U-turn after years of job cuts and plunging sales
Starbucks has launched its biggest hiring spree in history — aimed at finally tackling the number one gripe from frustrated customers. The recruitment blitz— adding as many as 85,000 workers across its 17,000 US locations — is a bold move aimed at slashing long wait times. Customers have grown weary of waiting 20 minutes for a drink, with many walking away from the chain entirely. Soaring prices and what critics call a 'soulless' in-store experience have only added to the exodus — helping drive a sharp drop in sales. New CEO Brian Niccol, speaking to 14,000 store managers at a Las Vegas event on Wednesday, called it 'the biggest human capital investment in connection in the history of Starbucks.' He said the goal isn't just to speed up service, but to ease pressure on overworked employees and bring back the warmth and personal touch that once made Starbucks a beloved 'third place' between home and work. 'Your rosters are going to expand with this,' Niccol told managers, who can begin hiring from August. Five years ago, Starbucks stores averaged 23 employees. Cost-cutting has since trimmed that number down to 18 to 19 — four to five fewer workers per location. Restoring pre-Covid staffing levels would mean hiring between 68,000 and 85,000 people across all US stores. Even focusing solely on the 11,000 company-owned locations, the increase would still be a massive 44,000 to 55,000 hires. Jodi Love, a portfolio manager at T Rowe Price, a Starbucks shareholder, estimated the labor investments would add more than $1bn in additional spending to fiscal 2026. But the move is expected to resonate with baristas on the frontlines, many of whom have long complained of chronic understaffing that fuels delays and drains morale. The new hires are also expected to support Starbucks' efforts to bring back a more personal touch — including a new policy asking baristas to handwrite notes on customers' cups. Explaining the U-turn, Niccol told the Financial Times: 'We over-rotated on the idea of equipment and that replacing the humanity of service,' Niccol told the Financial Times. 'And I think service is our point of difference. Despite everybody saying they're more connected than ever, everything I read is people feel more lonely than ever. 'I think part of the problem is there aren't enough third places anymore.' The new Starbucks boss has said he will simplify the chain's 'overly complex menu' in a bid to win back customers amid slumping sales Customers have increasingly been turned off by long wait times and rising prices at the chain Starbucks is scaling back the promotions and discounts offered through its mobile app Starbucks held Niccol was hired last year in an effort to turn around the struggling chain. Former CEO Howard Shultz agreed with Niccol telling Wednesday's company event 'we're not a company based on technology. 'That enables us, we're a company based on people.' The former Chipotle boss has embarked on a series of plans to return Starbucks to its original 'third place between home and work' concept. Coffee drinkers have turned away from the chain in recent years, put off by high beverage prices, long wait times and impersonal experiences. Niccol has set about axing complicated drinks from Starbucks menus, asking staff to put messages on customer's coffee cups and scaling back promotions. The plan will help address the major customer pet peeve of long wait times before getting their hands on a coffee. It will also likely be popular with front of house employees who have complained of chronic issues with understaffing, which compounds the backlogs.

Tributes paid to Britons feared killed in Air India plane crash
Air India confirmed 241 of the 242 people on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner were killed on Thursday, in one of the deadliest plane crashes in terms of the number of British nationals killed. Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek, who run a spiritual wellness centre, were said to be among the dead. The pair laughed and joked as they filmed a video of themselves at the airport before taking off. In an earlier Instagram post they told of their 'mind-blowing' trip to India and their intention to make a vlog about it. Mr Greenlaw is said to have appeared on ITV's This Morning earlier this year to talk about wellness. Former editor of the show Martin Frizell praised his 'vibrancy' and 'enthusiasm'. 'So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick,' he said in an Instagram post. 'I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I'm a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over. 'And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him. 'Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.' The Greenlaw-Meeks were running the Wellness Foundry in London, which offers psychic readings, tarot, reiki and yoga. The firm is included in Time Out's top places in the capital for tarot readings. The Wellness Foundry also has a podcast called Spirit Level, which the website says is a 'guiding light on the journey to holistic well-being and spiritual enlightenment'. The Gloucester Muslim Community group offered 'sincere and deepest condolences' after Akeel Nanabawa, his wife Hannaa and their daughter Sara were reported to be among the victims. 'During this moment of overwhelming sorrow, our hearts go out to all those left behind,' a statement said. 'No words can truly ease the pain of such a profound loss, but we pray that the family may find solace in the tremendous outpouring of compassion and solidarity from communities across the world.' Abdullah Samad, Sara's primary school headteacher, told the BBC she was a 'ray of sunshine' who 'lit up the classroom'. 'We were praying, hoping they weren't involved because miracles can happen and our prayers are continuous but our expectations are also realistic,' he said of the family. 'They touched lots of people and they will be missed by lots of people.' Raj Mishra, the mayor of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, called for people to come together as he announced the deaths of three people from his community. 'Among those lost were Raxa Modha, infant Rudra Modha, and Ms K Mistri, all from our Wellingborough community,' he said. 'I extend my deepest condolences to their families, friends and all those affected by this heartbreaking event. 'May their memories be a blessing, and may we come together to support one another in this time of grief.' Briton Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, is believed to be the only survivor of the crash. Speaking outside the family home in Leicester, his brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, 27, said: 'We were just shocked as soon as we heard it. 'I last spoke to him yesterday morning. We're devastated, just devastated. 'He said, 'I have no idea how I exited the plane'.' Mr Ramesh's older brother Ajay was also aboard the flight. Another of Mr Ramesh's relatives, Jay, said the survivor spoke to his father after the crash and asked after his brother. Jay told PA: 'After the crash he spoke to his dad worrying about his brother saying, 'Where's Ajay'?'

The tennis champion hosted a 'don't hold back, ask whatever' Instagram question and answer session. It soon attracted the ire of one of his followers who eagerly took the opportunity to comment on the 30-year-old's recreational habits. 'You need to get back on the court and get off Instagram, bro,' they wrote. Nick's response was swift and brutal. The controversial sportsman posted a photo living his best life in a swimming pool, alongside a brutal dig. 'I think I'll continue to do what I want,' he began. 'This is my house in the Bahamas and being on Instagram here is amazing!' he continued, adding a laughing face emoji. It comes after the Nick stunned fans with a dramatic new look. He took to Instagram earlier in the week to debut his jaw-dropping new appearance – and followers could barely believe their eyes. Gone are the signature dark curls he's long been known for, replaced by a completely shaved head that left the star athlete looking almost unrecognisable. In a short clip, the Aussie star confidently showed off the buzzcut from multiple angles, locking eyes with the camera as he embraced the change. Kyrgios revealed the drastic transformation was in honour of a milestone birthday, telling fans: '30 is unreal. Not even in my prime yet. And shaved head is UNREAL.' Kyrgios appears to be embracing change after he confirmed his split from Costeen Hatzi last month. Rumours of the breakup had been circulating for months, with Kyrgios appearing to unfollow the social media star on Instagram. The tennis star sparked rumours they had secretly split after he removed her initials from his Instagram bio. Meanwhile, Hatzi has since shared multiple cryptic posts, uploading a TikTok in which she appeared to mouth the words: 'Who the f*** did I marry? So at this point in time, I have filed for divorce'. She then confirmed the pair ended things on good terms, wishing the best for her ex-partner. The pair began dating back in 2021.
