Suki Suki founder Linda Gieskes – ‘My hair is an extension of my personal style'

We ask Linda Gieskes, owner and founder of Suki Suki Naturals, to share her personal hair journeys – including some of her 'firsts'.
This is her personal hair journey:
I remember the first time I had my hair professionally blow-dried at a salon. I was about five or six years old. I was amazed at how much movement my hair could have and how soft it felt.
The concept of how heat could transform your hair texture was introduced to me then. My hair became a part of my identity from my earliest memories, when it started defining my self-confidence and how pretty I felt on any given day.

I grew up doing my own hair. It was always an expression of how I viewed myself and I enjoyed being an active participant in how I wanted to wear it, and therefore how I wanted to be perceived and express myself.

My hair is an extension of my personal style. I like wearing it in an Afro, but also in braids and a sleek bun. My hairstyle is dictated by how I want to feel and be perceived on a particular day. I look and feel my best when my eyebrows are threaded, and my hair braided. The combination makes me feel like I've got my life together.

A hairstyle I still want to try is a very short bob. A brand I'll always be loyal to is Suki Suki Naturals. I take care of my hair by doing my deep treatments and being patient with it.
The best advice I have been given is to take care of your ends. Avoid buns that tug at your ends and don't use plastic hair ties or those with metallic tips.

Zareen Khan Introduces "Happy Hippie" for Simple, Mindful Beauty

The launch range includes a gentle yet effective face wash, an all-in-one face cream for hydration, glow and nourishment, a lightweight face serum, and a deeply nourishing hair oil for scalp and hair health. You're reading Entrepreneur India, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media. Bollywood actor Zareen Khan has unveiled her new beauty brand, Happy Hippie, a clean and conscious skincare and haircare line aimed at those who value simplicity without losing effectiveness. The actor shared that the brand was born from her own experience of finding what genuinely works for the skin and soul. Over the past 18 months, she researched and developed products that focus on multi-tasking essentials designed for everyday use. The launch range includes a gentle yet effective face wash, an all-in-one face cream for hydration, glow and nourishment, a lightweight face serum, and a deeply nourishing hair oil for scalp and hair health. All products are gender-neutral, cruelty-free, and formulated without harmful chemicals, with an emphasis on high-quality, carefully chosen ingredients. "I realized that self-care has become too overwhelming for many of us," Zareen said. "With Happy Hippie, I wanted to create something joyful, honest, and easy to use. You don't need ten different products, just the right ones that truly work. This brand carries my full heart." Zareen added that Happy Hippie is not focused on chasing trends or competing in a crowded market. Instead, she hopes to foster a community that values mindful beauty and conscious living.
