New Mom Kiara Advani Is All Set For War 2 Trailer; Posts BTS Pic With Hrithik Roshan
Kiara Advani is entering a new phase in both her personal and professional lives. While she is experiencing the joy of motherhood on one hand, on the other is the release of her first high-octane action film, War 2, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. A day before the film's trailer release, Kiara posted a rare behind-the-scenes photo from War 2 shoot, featuring Hrithik and the film's director, Ayan Mukerji.
In the photo, Kiara Advani looks super-fit in a tank top and trousers. Her look was amplified with boots. Hrithik Roshan, dressed in a casual shirt and jeans, posed with Ayan. 'All set for tomorrow", wrote an excited Kiara, as she shared a seemingly throwback photo from the film's shoot set abroad. Take a look:
Earlier this week, makers revealed that War 2 trailer will be released on July 25. YRF took to its Instagram handle and shared the poster along with an announcement note. 'ANNOUNCEMENT: #WAR2 trailer out on July 25th. #War2 is set to release in Hindi, Telugu & Tamil on August 14th in cinemas worldwide!" As soon as the date was revealed, fans reacted. One of the fans wrote, 'Major Kabir Dhaliwal vs The Lethal Force Agen Vikram.' Another wrote, 'Can't wait."
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, and the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films' ambitious Spy Universe – home to Pathaan and Tiger 3. The film marks a major milestone for the franchise, featuring Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir, the enigmatic secret agent, and Jr NTR making his Bollywood debut in what is widely speculated to be a villainous role. Kiara Advani also joins the high-octane ensemble in a significant part.
The teaser, released earlier, offered fans a thrilling glimpse of what's to come, and buzz around the full trailer hints at intense action sequences, emotional undercurrents, and even a possible dance face-off between the film's two leading men – though this has yet to be confirmed.
Interestingly, Hrithik and Jr NTR will not be promoting the film together and are expected to undertake promotional duties separately.
War 2 is not just a standalone action spectacle. It's also a strategic setup for the next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe – Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt. While rumours suggest Alia might make a brief appearance in War 2, there has been no official confirmation on the cameo.
Recently, director Ayan Mukerji took to Instagram to unveil a striking new poster featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. 'The biggest showdown of the year loading… #30DaysToWar2 #War2 only in theatres from 14th August. Releasing in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil," he wrote in the caption.
Adding to the buzz is Kiara Advani's return to the big screen – this will be her first film release following the birth of her daughter with husband Sidharth Malhotra on July 15. She was seen wearing a golden bikini in the film's teaser.
Backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, War 2 is set to roar into theatres on August 14, just in time for Independence Day, promising a grand, multilingual cinematic showdown that's poised to shake up the spy universe once again.

Coolie vs War 2 North America advance booking: Rajinikanth's film races ahead with $1.06M, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR follows at $168K
This Independence Day will see the clash of two mega tentpoles from India — Lokesh Kanagaraj's action thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, and Ayan Mukerji's spy thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. While the advance booking in India hasn't started yet, if the US advance ticket sales are anything to go by yet, Coolie is leading the race with a rather wide margin. The advance booking of Coolie in North America currently stands at $1.06 million. It's become the fastest Tamil film to cross the $1 million mark in its pre-sales in North America. This includes $850K from just the cinemas in the US alone, where it's sold over 35,000 tickets already. It's releasing with 1147 shows at 430 locations across the US, as per Sacnilk. With this milestone, Coolie has entered the short list of Tamil blockbusters which hit the $1 million mark through just its advance booking in North America. The other members of this coveted club include another Rajinikanth action drama, Pa Ranjith's Kabali (2016), which stands at $1.92 million, followed by another Kanagaraj action thriller, Leo (2023) starring Vijay, which garnered $1.86 million in its North America pre-sales. The third spot, which Coolie now follows, is held by Mani Ratnam's 2022 historical epic Ponniyin Selvan I at $1.1 million. Meanwhile, War 2 lags far behind in comparison. It's collected $168K through 1585 shows at 582 locations across North America. Out of this, $150.9K has been collected from the US cinemas alone. Given the current trajectory, War 2 may not be able to even hit the $1 million mark in North America pre-sales, which Coolie has surpassed already, even 10 days before its worldwide release. However, War 2 has managed to outperform NTR's previous action tentpole, Koratala Siva's Devara last year. While Devara hit the $100K pre-sales mark in 11 hours, War 2 has managed to do that in only seven hours, becoming the fastest Indian film to do so in North America. War 2 is the sequel to Siddharth Anand's 2019 blockbuster War, starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana. While Roshan and Rana reprise their roles in the sequel, they're being joined by NTR and Kiara Advani among others. War 2 will mark Mukerji's first directorial venture outside of his home turf, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. War 2 is the next instalment in Aditya Chopra's ambitious YRF Spy Universe, which consists of blockbusters like the Tiger franchise, Pathaan, and War. Its next instalment is Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, which will release in cinemas this Christmas on December 25. Yash Raj Films is already reaping the benefits of its latest global box office success, Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara. Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Pooja Hegde, and Sathyaraj, along with a cameo by Aamir Khan. Both Coolie and War 2 will release in cinemas worldwide on August 14.

Kingdom Box Office Collection Day 4: Vijay Deverakonda Film Crosses Rs 40 Crore
Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, crossed Rs 40 crore in four days but dipped on the fifth. The film has a massive Rs 130 crore budget. Kingdom Box Office Collection Day 4: Vijay Deverakonda has finally found his mojo again! After a string of underwhelming releases, the actor is back in action with Kingdom, and fans seem to be showing up in full force. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and featuring a solid ensemble including Satyadev, Venkatesh, and Bhagyashri Borse, the film opened strong and crossed the Rs 40 crore mark in just four days. But while the crown may be shiny for now, Kingdom is beginning to feel the heat as it battles to keep the momentum going at the box office. According to the latest figures from Sacnilk, Kingdom witnessed a slight dip in collections on its fifth day, which also happened to be its first Sunday. Early estimates suggest the film earned Rs 7 crore on the day. The Vijay Deverakonda-starrer had kicked off its run with an extended weekend in mind, opening on Thursday with a solid Rs 18 crore. It followed up with Rs 7.5 crore on Friday, and then picked up slightly on Saturday with Rs 8 crore. With Sunday's numbers in, the total domestic collection now stands at Rs 40.5 crore. Kingdom is yet to surpass the lifetime collection of Liger, Vijay Deverakonda's pre-pandemic pan-India release from 2019. Liger had wrapped up its theatrical run with a total of Rs 41.17 crore. Kingdom has reportedly been mounted on a massive budget of Rs 130 crore, with a sizeable portion earmarked for its leading star. As per Telugu media reports, Vijay Deverakonda charged a hefty Rs 30 crore for his role in the high-octane spy-action film. Industry insiders also hint at a possible profit-sharing deal in place, which could see the actor pocket an even bigger paycheck if the film turns into a blockbuster. However, there has been no official word from Deverakonda or his team on the specifics of his remuneration arrangement. Kingdom plunges audiences into a high-stakes world of espionage and emotional conflict. Vijay Deverakonda stars as Suri, a seemingly ordinary cop whose life is upended when he's handpicked for a covert mission in Sri Lanka. His objective? To track down and extract his long-lost brother, Siva — played by Satyadev — who has risen through the underworld ranks to become a powerful smuggling kingpin. As personal loyalties clash with national duty, the story unfolds with action, emotion, and suspense. Bhagyashri Borse rounds out the lead cast as the film's female protagonist.
