The house of one of the terrorists, Adil Thokar, allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack, was demolished by authorities on Thursday night.
Thokar, a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who also goes by the name Adil Guree, had legally travelled to Pakistan in 2018 and reportedly received terror training there. He returned to Jammu and Kashmir last year.
According to a report by the Times of India, intelligence sources say that Thokar served as the guide and logistics coordinator for terrorists in the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people.

Meanwhile, the Anantnag Police has announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the arrests of Thokar, Ali Bhai, and Hashim Musa.
Security beefed up
Security across the region has been beefed up following the terror attack in Pahalgam.
A joint operation involving the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police is currently underway in the region. The operation has been extended to cover a 5-kilometre radius from the site of the attack in Pahalgam. Special forces, sniffer dogs, and various technical intelligence resources have been mobilised to locate the attackers.
The Kashmir Valley has been swamped with additional checkpoints, with quick reaction teams being deployed in key installations and tourist hotspots.
Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi will travel to Baisaran Valley on Friday to hold a security meeting following the attacks.
All-party meeting
Leaders across party lines on Thursday called for decisive action against terrorism and terror camps, and assured the government of their full support, even as some opposition parties flagged security lapses in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, where terrorists gunned down 26 people.
During an all-party meeting to discuss the April 22 Pahalgam attack, the government said it was taking all measures to ensure security and assured the leaders of action against terrorism and its backers.
It noted that the Pahalgam attack was aimed at vitiating the atmosphere at a time when the economy was on the upswing and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir was booming.

The monthly salary for both officials has been fixed at Rs 1.3 million and they will also receive an additional 50 per cent as a temporary allowance on top of it, according to the notification. The revised salary structure will be effective retrospectively from January 1, 2025. Earlier on March 21, it was reported that the salaries and allowances of federal cabinet members had been significantly increased, with federal ministers, ministers of state and advisers receiving hikes of up to 188 per cent. Sources had said that the federal ministers approved a summary of the salary increments for themselves and ministers of state through circulation. An amendment to the Federal Ministers and Ministers of State (Allowances and Salaries) Act, 1975, was approved, paving the way for these increases. Following the bill's approval, the revised salary of a federal minister, minister of state and adviser would stand at Rs 519,000. Previously, federal ministers were earning Rs 200,000, while ministers of state had a salary of Rs 180,000. This decision marked a substantial 159 per cent increase in the salaries of federal ministers, while ministers of state and advisers have witnessed an increment of up to 188 per cent. Earlier this year, the Finance Committee had approved an increase in the salaries of members of the National Assembly and senators, raising their monthly pay to Rs 519,000, according to the report.

On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at fifteen locations in the Mithi river desilting case, including at actor Dino Morea's home in Mumbai. The raid comes days after the actor appeared before the Mumbai Police for questioning in a corruption case. His brother was also questioned by the raids were carried out across Mumbai and Kochi under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at locations linked to contractors and officials suspected of embezzlement in the desilting operations of the Mithi River. The case involves accusations of alleged inflated bills, fake work logs, and systematic diversion of public funds sanctioned for flood prevention and drainage maintenance in Mumbai. Earlier inquiries by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had flagged possible financial misconduct. The ED stepped in after taking cognizance of these reports and registered a money laundering case to trace the proceeds of crime. The ED suspects that a network of contractors and middlemen submitted fraudulent work completion reports and siphoned off funds meant for critical infrastructure development.

New Delhi: During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces decimated most of Pakistan's military infrastructure. One of the crucial weapons was the BrahMos missile. Now, India is preparing to launch another highly potent weapon which is an indigenous 155mm artillery shell developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This homemade 155mm artillery shell will not only add more muscle to the might of the Indian Army but also serve as a warning to China as it could strengthen India's battlefield edge from the mountains of Ladakh to the Line of Control (LoC). Four variants of this next-gen artillery ammunition have been successfully developed and tested by the DRDO over the past two years. This is a massive step forward in India's journey toward self-reliance in defense manufacturing. For a long time, India had largely relied on Russia and Israel for artillery shells, but with its own advanced 155mm ammunition nearly ready, that dependency may soon end. Nearly two feet long, these shells weigh approximately 45 kg each and their range is about 32 km. The user trials are scheduled for November this year. Upon clearance, mass production will begin for deployment across India's armed forces. Apart from enhancing India's military infrastructure, this project is also a showcase of public-private partnership in defense. Under DRDO's Development-cum-Production Partner (DCPP) model, two companies, Jai Ammunition Ltd (a Reliance Infrastructure subsidiary) and Yantra India Ltd, a state-owned firm, have been shortlisted to co-develop and mass-produce the shells. Both the companies have worked closely with DRDO over the past two years, and will now produce prototypes for the Indian Army's evaluation. If approved, it could generate large-scale orders and help reduce India's massive import bill on defense supplies. Over the next decade, India's artillery ammunition market is projected to be worth over Rs 10,000 crore. Also, given their superior technology, the shells will be considered for exports. India's reputation as the developer and manufacturer of world-class weapons at reasonable price could make India a sought-after player in the global arms market.
