Is Enphase Energy, Inc. (ENPH) the Best Clean Energy Stock to Buy According to Billionaires?
We recently published a list of the 10 Best Clean Energy Stocks to Buy According to Billionaires. In this article, we are going to take a look at where Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH) stands against other top clean energy stocks according to billionaires.
The current overall bearish trend has also dealt a massive blow to the energy sector, which fell by more than 15.7% over the last five days, against a decline of less than 10% by the overall market. This is despite the fact that energy commodities were exempted from President Trump's sweeping new tariffs – a clear tactic to keep energy inflation in check and in-line with his broader aim to keep energy prices low. The biggest reason for this is the prevailing anxiety about what these tariffs will do to economic growth and, hence, the power demand. The decline in energy stocks also indicates that the market is not expecting any reindustrialization of America to happen in the near term, which appears to be the President's key aim behind his upending of the entire global trade system.

That said, the global renewable energy industry is growing at a record pace as the world moves ahead with its energy transition to mitigate the impacts of climate change. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, the global renewable power capacity reached 4,448 gigawatts (GW) in 2024, with an addition of 585 GW just last year. This represented a 92.5% share of the total capacity expansion during the year and marked a record 15.1% rate of annual growth.
The American clean energy sector has kept up with this explosive growth and brought online 48.2 GW of capacity from utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage in 2024, according to research organization Cleanview. Renewables are set to continue this momentum, and the US Energy Information Administration expects the share of new power capacity to come online this year from renewables and batteries to jump to 93%.
One sector that has particularly garnered accelerated investor interest over the last year is nuclear energy. The International Energy Agency recently revealed that nuclear is set to generate a record level of electricity in 2025. Moreover, on the sidelines of the CERAWeek conference in Houston last month, several major corporations even signed a pledge to support the goal of at least tripling the world's nuclear energy capacity by 2050.
Another sector that has performed exceptionally well is that of energy storage, which set a new record with 12.3 GW of installations across all segments in the US last year. According to the American Clean Power Association, the industry is on a path to surpass 100 GW of grid-scale storage deployed by 2030. However, the country's rapidly expanding sector now faces a serious threat since over 90% of lithium-ion energy storage cells deployed in the US storage market last year originated from China, according to Rho Motion, a data research company.
Despite the Trump administration's best efforts to hamper its growth, the clean energy sector continues to be backed up by an increasing number of hedge funds and billionaires. A great example is how Berkshire Hathaway Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, has invested over $40 billion in wind, solar, and hydroelectric projects and operates one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in America.

China's exports climb 4.8% in May as shipments to the US fall nearly 10%
China's exports rose 4.8% in May from a year earlier, a bit lower than expected, as shipments to the United States fell nearly 10%, according to data released Monday just hours ahead of another round of trade talks between the U.S. and China. Imports declined 3.4% year-on-year, leaving a trade surplus of $103.2 billion. China exported $28.8 billion to the United States in May, while its imports from the U.S. fell 7.4% to $10.8 billion, the report said. Still, exports to Southeast Asia and the European Union remained robust, growing 14.8% and 12%, year-on-year. 'The acceleration of exports to other economies has helped China's exports remain relatively buoyant in the face of the trade war,' Lynne Song of ING Economics said in a commentary. Still, trade slowed in May from an 8.1% jump in China's global exports in April. Many businesses had rushed orders to try to beat higher tariffs, even as some new import duties took effect or remained in place. Exports will likely rebound somewhat in June thanks to a 90-day suspension of most of the tariffs China and the U.S. imposed on each other in their escalating trade war. 'But with tariffs likely to remain elevated and Chinese manufacturers facing broader constraints on their ability to sustain rapid gains in global market share, we think export growth will slow further by year-end,' Zichun Huang of Capital Economics said in a report. Despite the tariffs truce, the rancor between Beijing and Washington has persisted, with angry exchanges over advanced semiconductors, 'rare earths' that are vital to many industries and visas for Chinese students at American universities. The next round of negotiations was due to take place later Monday in London, following a phone call last week between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Other data released Monday highlight the pressure on the world's second largest economy from slowing exports, since China imports many of the components and materials needed for the goods it assembles for the world. But at the same time, China's own domestic markets are suffering. The government reported that consumer prices fell 0.1% in May, evidence of sluggish demand. The persisting deflation partly reflects lower food prices, economists said. Producer price deflation was worse, contracting 3.3% in May, its lowest level in almost two years, after falling 2.7% in April.

Watch These S&P 500 Levels After Index Hits 6,000 Points For First Time Since February
The S&P 500 surpassed the 6,000-point mark on Friday, extending a rally for stocks that's been fueled by optimism about strong corporate earnings and economic data, as investors await further developments on the trade front. The benchmark index broke out from a pennant pattern last week, indicating a continuation of its recent move higher, while the relative strength index confirms bullish momentum. Investors should track key overhead areas on the S&P 500's chart around 6,100 and 6,575, while also watching major support levels near 5,770 and 5, S&P 500 (SPX) surpassed the 6,000-point mark last week for the first time since February, extending a rally for stocks that's been fueled by optimism about strong corporate earnings and economic data, as investors await further developments on the trade front. The benchmark index has rallied sharply from its early-April low to trade just 2.4% below the record high it established in mid-February. Last month, the S&P 500 posted its biggest monthly gain since November 2023, as concerns about the Trump administration's "Liberation Day" tariffs have subsided. Below, we take a closer look at the S&P 500's chart and apply technical analysis to identify key levels that investors will likely be watching. After climbing above a descending broadening formation, the S&P 500 trended sharply higher before consolidating within a pennant. More recently, the index broke out from the pattern last week, indicating a continuation of its recent move higher. Meanwhile, the relative strength index confirms bullish momentum, but remains below its overbought threshold, providing ample room for further upside. Let's identify two key overhead areas on the S&P 500's chart and also locate major support levels to watch during potential retracements. The first key overhead area to track sits around 6,100. This area may provide resistance near a trendline that connects a series on peaks that formed on the chart between December and February just below the index's record high. Investors can project an upside target above the record high by using the bars pattern tool. When applying the analysis to the S&P 500's chart, we extract the steep move higher following the breakout from the descending broadening formation and reposition it from the pennant's breakout point. This projects a target of around 6,575, about 10% above Friday's close. During retracements, investors should initially watch the 5,770 level. The index could find support in this area near the low of the pennant pattern, which closely aligns with the 200-day moving average (MA) and a range of corresponding trading activity on the chart extending back to September last year. Finally, a close below this level could see the S&P 500 revisit lower support around 5,650. Those who invest in the index may seek buying opportunities in this region near the upward sloping 50-day MA and a horizontal line that links a series of price action on the chart between July and May.
