Steve Burns, original host of ‘Blue's Clues,' is launching a podcast for ‘grown-ups'
The podcast, called 'Alive,' is being billed as a 'cozy and delightful weekly series' where Burns will talk about 'what it means to stay human in a complicated world,' according to a news release Wednesday.
'There are a thousand podcasts you can listen to, this is one that listens back. I really want to continue what we started decades ago,' Burns – who now posts popular social media videos where he asks people how they're doing and spends minutes simply listening – said in a statement. 'For us, it was all about curious investigation. It was about looking a little closer. About asking the right questions.'
'Alive' will feature Burns engaging in vulnerable conversations with guests, who have not yet been announced, as he 'continues to connect with both the generation who grew up with him and new audiences alike.'
Burns added that the podcast is a 'continuation of that same conversation—only now we're grown-ups, trying to make sense of a world that's a whole lot more complicated.'
The concept for the podcast was inspired by a viral moment from 2021 when Burns helped mark the 25th anniversary of 'Blue's Clues,' saying that he 'found himself in conversation again with tens of millions of grown-up fans who still considered him a friend,' the news release read.
At the time, Burns talked about his decision to abruptly depart from the show to attend college in a video posted to the Nick Jr. verified Twitter account.
Burns served as the original host of 'Blue's Clues' from 1996 to 2003. The Nick Jr. animated series followed Burns and his cartoon dog Blue, who helped him find clues to figure something new out each episode.
'Alive' is set to debut this fall.

Cracker Barrel rebrands with new 'woke' logo and MAGA is being very normal about it
After nearly 50 years in business, Southern country-themed restaurant Cracker Barrel has changed its logo, prompting the MAGA crowd to melt down over the company's perceived swing to the left. The restaurant stated in a press release that the new logo — which removes the man sitting in a rocking chair and streamlines the name — is "Rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and wordmark that started it all.' But conservatives across social media have been blaming the changes on new CEO Julie Felss Masino, who they claim was only hired because of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and the company going 'woke.' People have been threatening to boycott the brand, and are angry that the restaurant chain is 'pushing woke agendas' because conservatives just discovered Cracker Barrel has an LGBTQ+ Alliance, and regularly attends Nashville Pride. Donald Trump Jr. was angry about the changes, writing on X, 'WTF is wrong with @CrackerBarrel??!' And other people were comparing the changes to Budweiser when they used trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney to promote the brand, or cruelly making memes comparing the logo supposedly getting worse to Elliot Page's transition journey. Clearly, conservatives haven't been watching Page's sexy glow up from twink to twunk if they think this is a good analogy for something getting worse over time. Conservatives may think this new logo is a sea change for the company and proof of it moving toward the left, but they must have the memory of a goldfish because Republicans also got angry with Cracker Barrel back in 2023 when the brand posted a photo of its signature front porch with a rainbow rocking chair. While the MAGA backlash is outsized in comparison to the changes made to the iconic logo, and it quickly veered into racist and transphobic territory, conservatives aren't the only ones unhappy with the changes. Other people were annoyed that the quaint, country kitsch restaurant was redesigned to resemble a more sterile Apple Store-like aesthetic. Whether you are angry at the change because it's too 'woke' or too 'bland' has become a political litmus test in a country that is increasingly divided along right and left ideological lines. Even California Governor Gavin Newsom got in on the action, with one of his new signature posts mocking Trump's style, writing on X, 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH CRACKER BARREL?? KEEP YOUR BEAUTIFUL LOGO!!! THE NEW ONE LOOKS LIKE CHEAP VELVEETA 'CHEESE' FROM WALMART, THE PLACE FOR 'GROCERIES' (AN OLD FASHIONED TERM)!!! 'FIX IT' ASAP! WOKE IS DEAD!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. — GCN' While other people joked about conservatives being more concerned about a restaurant logo than about releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files. The backlash against the Southern road-trip staple doesn't seem to be slowing down, so take a look at some of the most ridiculous MAGA meltdown moments. ‘Nip/Tuck' star Dylan Walsh and family involved in Jersey Shore car crash
NEW YORK — Dylan Walsh, an actor best known for playing Dr. Sean McNamara on 'Nip/Tuck,' was involved in a car crash with his family over the weekend along the north Jersey Shore. The accident happened at around 5 p.m. Sunday in Rumson, when a 2022 Ford Explorer with five passengers traveling northbound veered into another lane and struck a utility police along East River Road, the local Patch reported. But the vehicle did not stop there, it continued on until it struck a second utility pole nearby, police said. Photos obtained by TMZ show the SUV with its front end smashed in and one of the utility poles lying on the side of the road. The crash later forced authorities to close down the area until Tuesday while Jersey Central Power & Light crews replaced the damaged utility poles, which left several homes without power. Rumson Police Lt. Christopher Isherwood confirmed two passengers were taken to Riverview Medical Center with complaints of pain in the wake of the incident. The injured were not identified, but authorities have since said the driver of the vehicle was Walsh, who was 'subsequently issued several motor vehicle summonses.' In a statement to People, a representative for the 'Blue Bloods' alum confirmed he was 'involved in a car accident in Rumson.' 'Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home,' the statement continues. 'The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care.' The family 'would also like to extend a special thank-you to the management and staff of The River Point Inn for their support in the immediate aftermath,' it concluded. Walsh is married to Leslie Bourque-Walsh and they share daughter Amelie Belle and son Hudson Scott. The actor is also father to Thomas and Joanna Walsh, whom he shares with ex-wife Melora Walters. It's not clear whether any of the kids were in the car at the time of the accident.

Angelina Jolie and Doug Liman Reunite for the Action-Packed Spy Thriller THE INITIATIVE — GeekTyrant
Angelina Jolie is stepping back into the high-octane world of espionage with The Initiative , a new spy thriller that sees her reuniting with Doug Liman, the director behind the fan-favorite Mr. and Mrs. Smith . Universal Pictures is currently in talks to scoop up this high-profile project, which has F. Scott Frazier ( Collide , xXx: The Return of Xander Cage ) on board to write the screenplay. While the studio is keeping plot details under tight wraps, this new film is shaping up to be a slick return to the action-packed roles that made Jolie a box office powerhouse with films like Salt , The Tourist , and Wanted . If the deal with Universal goes through, executive VP of production development Jay Polidoro and director of development Tony Ducret will be steering the project for the studio. The Initiative is being produced by Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films, which already shares a strong creative connection with both Liman and Jolie. The production company previously backed Disney's Maleficent franchise, where Jolie dominated the screen as the title character. Liman's recent streak of successful projects includes Road House for Amazon MGM Studios and the upcoming The Instigations for Apple TV+. He's no stranger to Universal either, having directed The Bourne Identity and American Made . He's also currently collaborating again with Tom Cruise on a groundbreaking project set to be filmed entirely in space. As for Jolie, she continues to expand her creative empire. She recently earned acclaim for her portrayal of opera icon Maria Callas in Pablo Larraín's Maria , and she'll soon be seen in the bilingual drama Couture by Alice Winocour, which she also produced. Her next big screen outing includes the film adaptation of Anxious People , directed by Marc Forster. Jolie has also made her mark behind the camera with projects like First They Killed My Father , which she co-wrote and produced, the Oscar-nominated Unbroken , and her upcoming film Without Blood , starring Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir, based on the novel by Alessandro Baricco. On top of all that, she recently nabbed a Tony Award as a producer for the Broadway musical The Outsiders .
