Texas A&M's future at quarterback will always be be muddled due to the transfer portal, but this program's culture is stonger than ever, as redshirt sophomore QB Marcel Reed returns to the lineup after trading games with Conner Weigman last season, who eventually transferred to Houston.
While Reed is the option right now, preparing for the inevitable includes on the of the most electric playmakers in the 2026 class, as three-star quarterback/athlete Legend Bey, who is predicted to land with the Aggies, placed Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list, joining Tennessee, Ohio State, Duke, and West Virginia.
All you need to do is turn on the tape to get excited about the North Forney signal caller, whose elite dual-threat running ability led to 1,912 yards on the ground and 41 touchdowns during his 2024 junior season. However, he can also sling it, throwing for over 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns, which is why he is still being recruited as a quarterback by some programs, but will likely see time at wide receiver and even running back at the next level.
After visiting Texas A&M twice this spring, Bey received a prediction to land with the Aggies ahead of his official visit to College Station on June 20. During a recent interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley, Bey discussed his "strong" relationship with coach Mike Elko and his staff.
"They came pretty late," Bey stated."I mean, we have a strong relationship now. I'm not even going to lie. But they came late, and they proved themselves. They did what they were supposed to do and be patient and see what I was going to do my junior year."
According to 247Sports, Legend Bey is positioned as the 21st-ranked Athlete and 49th-ranked prospect in Texas.

Jermaine Polk of Toledo, Ohio announced his commitment to Rutgers on Sunday afternoon. Polk took an official visit to Rutgers this weekend, which ultimately led to the Scarlet Knights sealing the deal with his commitment. Michigan State was one of five schools recently named a finalist for Polk, which didn't include Rutgers.
