Lance Stroll has been declared fit to race at his home grand prix in Canada this weekend after missing out in Spain a fortnight ago with pain in his hand and wrist.
The Aston Martin driver withdrew from the Spanish Grand Prix in the hours after qualifying – meaning only 19 cars lined up on the grid – with the team revealing that he'd been in discomfort for several weeks.

Apparently his symptoms dated back to a procedure he had two years ago following a nasty cycling accident in which he fractured both wrists, his left hand and his big right toe. Barely three weeks later he'd made a (genuinely Herculean) recovery in time for the first race of 2023.

'Lance had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing,' said Aston in a statement. 'Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.
And Lance himself added: 'I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd.

'I'm feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend!'
Now, the elephant in the room: when all this unfolded two weeks ago, reports quickly surfaced that Stroll had lost his temper in the Aston garage after qualifying, having been half a second slower than teammate Fernando Alonso.
There was some suggestion that Stroll's, er, behaviour had made his injuries worse, and while Aston denied some specific details, the general thrust of the reports weren't refuted.

This wouldn't be the first time Stroll's emotions had gotten the better of him: in 2023 he had to apologise after shoving his trainer in full view of the television cameras having knocked out of quali in Q1.

June 13 (Reuters) - Global sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles rose 24% in May compared with the same period a year ago, as strength in China offset slower growth in North America, according to market research firm Rho Motion. Electric vehicle sales in China surpassed over one million units in a single month for the first time this year, driven by strong domestic demand and targeted export efforts from Chinese manufacturers, notably BYD, tapping into emerging markets. BYD's exports to Mexico and Southeast Asia, along with Uzbekistan, have significantly boosted sales in these regions, Rho Motion data manager Charles Lester said. Fleet incentives in Germany and robust growth in Southern Europe helped lift the European market, while the expiry of Canadian subsidies dragged on North American demand, he added. Lewis Hamilton insisted that he will not walk out on his £60million-a-year deal to drive for Ferrari. Despite a terrible start to his time at the Scuderia, he is planning on competing into his early/mid-forties. Vasseur has time for now. But improvements are called for, as the team are 197 points behind McLaren, and patience will snap without an upturn. Hamilton said: 'I have literally only just started with this team, and I am here for several years. I am here for the long haul and there is no question as to where my head is at, and what I am achieving with the team, so there are zero doubts, so please stop making it up. 'I want to be at the front and we need to bring more performance out of the car. There are challenges but I am enjoying those challenges.' He added of Vasseur and stories surrounding his future: 'I was just made aware of it. But it is definitely not nice to hear there are stories out there. 'Firstly, I love working with Fred. He is the main reason I am in this team, and I got the opportunity to be here because of Fred, which I am forever grateful for. 'We are in this together, things are not perfect.
