Derek McInnes hopes Tony Bloom enjoyed Hearts' win over Aberdeen
The Brighton owner was at Tynecastle for the first time after recently completing a deal to invest in the Edinburgh club, and he had his name sung by supporters lapping up his bold pre-match declarations that Hearts can win the Scottish title and break into the Champions League.
After an early own goal from Dons skipper Graeme Shinnie and a 73rd-minute header from Stuart Findlay sent Hearts top of the fledgling league table, manager McInnes said of Bloom's attendance at the match: 'He'll have loved getting his name sung. I haven't spoken to him yet, I'm meeting him tomorrow.
'We've had a couple of text conversations. I think he would have been encouraged as well, seeing Tynecastle the way it was. I think he would have enjoyed it. He certainly would have enjoyed the result because, as he's said, he just wants to see a winning Hearts team more often than not. That's what we're all wanting.'
McInnes smiled wryly when asked about Bloom's bullish comments in the 24 hours leading up to the match, but he said: 'I knew what Tony was going to say, I heard what you guys heard, absolutely no problem with it at all.
'There's so many people, including Tony, who are ambitious and want Hearts to be successful at the club. He's obviously come in with a fresh pair of eyes and came out and shot for exactly what he wants.
'We're trying to make progress and I think we can make progress. Where Tony and others and myself think we can bridge the gap and maybe try and get ahead of others is the confidence they have in the recruitment.'
McInnes felt he had 'a team screaming to win the game of football there, absolutely busting'. 'For sheer commitment, guts, effort, I thought we were 10 out of 10,' he said.
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin conceded the better team won.
'We had an idea of how we were going to take on the game today in the first half with the ball, and we didn't succeed in that,' he said. 'Hearts put good pressure on us, and then they win these second balls and create a momentum with the crosses. They were better in the first half.
'I think in the second half we got better with the ball and started creating some chances in their box, but we were not really clinical. We were not really there.'

And with Max Aarons a natural right back being played on the left - and looking uncomfortable - to accommodate Tavernier then it could be Martin will choose to bench Tavernier and bring Jefte into the left back slot. Martin surprised many by turning to Dowell this season when it looked like the ex-Norwich City man's Ibrox career was over when he was shipped out on loan to Birmingham City. And he hasn't made the most of his second chance in this three outings this season but with the signing of Oliver Antman and his inclusion in the Champions League squad then it wouldn't be a major surprise to see that swap, as the rumoured line-up suggests. Martin picked out Cyriel Dessers and Lyall Cameron for praise in terms of attitude amid a blast about egos in the squad and those two could also come in. And that would also see the axe fall on Nico Raskin, with Joe Rothwell's arrival squeezing him out of the position he did so well in last season, and Danilo.

Pep Guardiola tells Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers what he wants to hear about Simpson-Pusey as 'trust' made crystal clear
Rodgers knows Guardiola trusts Simpson-Pusey implicitly and you don't have to look far for cold hard proof of that Brendan Rodgers hinted Pep Guardiola's 'trust' in Jahmai Simpson-Pusey may have been one of the driving factors behind Celtic's decision to bring him in. And there's no denying the Man City boss rates the youngster after he delivered a public glowing verdict on the 'unbelievable' 19-year-old. The centre-back arrives at Parkhead after something of a breakthrough season at the Etihad where he managed six top-team appearances, which included starts in the Premier League and Champions League. on top of a number of cup outings. That experience with some of the best players in the world made it a no-brainer for Rodgers to bring him in and, speaking to Sky Sports, he admitted the faith shown by Guardiola in him last season made it an easy decision to bring him in. Rodgers said: "He's a young player that I feel can come into this environment and really support us in the games that we play. "We need a number of centre halves and he is one, with his profile and attributes that fit how we play. "He has got good pace. He is a good defender first and foremost but he can also play football because at Celtic, you need to be able to build the game from behind and progress it quickly. He can do that. "He has had some senior games with Manchester City and has had the trust of Pep (Guardiola) to put him in. Now he comes here for a year and continues that education at a massive club." And you don't need to look far for a sign of that 'trust' Rodgers is referring to. Simpson-Pusey is fancied to have a big future and, if Guardiola is to be believed, then it's a major coup for Celtic to bring him in. He threw him in for his Premier League debut against Brighton back in November, having previously started him against Sporting CP in the Champions League. City, struggling for form, lost that game 2-1. But Simpson-Pusey was one of the bright spots as he looked capable beside Josko Gvardiol and Kyle Walker in the back line. Speaking after the game, Guardiola said: 'Jahmai Simpson-Pusey played really good again, with this composure – the duels, everything was good. We have a central defender to help us for the next years. 'I'm really pleased. Always, there is good news when a situation is going bad – and this is one of them. It's not easy for him. 'Normally, the young lads come in with the support of the team – Rodri in front of them, the best Kyle Walker and other defenders. He's playing in a position that is difficult for him, and he performed unbelievably.'
