Big 12 football bowl projections: Arizona State returns to College Football Playoff
According to one site's college football bowl projections for the upcoming season, ASU football will do just fine with the lofty expectations.
ESPN's Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach both have the Sun Devils returning to the College Football Playoff in their 2025 preseason College Football Playoff and bowl projections.
Bonagura has Kenny Dillingham's team as the No. 10 seed in the playoff, taking on No. 7 seed Alabama in the first round. Schlabach has ASU as the No. 11 seed, facing the No. 6 Crimson Tide.
The Sun Devils are the only Big 12 team to make the playoff, according to their projections.

College football bowl projections for Big 12 teams
Here's ESPN's projections for other Big 12 teams in college football bowl games, with 11 teams from the conference projected to make a bowl game by at least one of the two ESPN experts, including Arizona State.
Arizona, Houston, Oklahoma State, UCF and West Virginia are the only Big 12 teams not projected to make a bowl game, according to ESPN's college football bowl projections for the upcoming season.

Bonagura has the Bears taking on Iowa in the Rate Bowl in Phoenix.
Schlabach has Baylor playing Oklahoma in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
TCU bowl projections
Schlabach projects the Rate Bowl to be TCU vs Minnesota.
Bonagura has the Horned Frogs taking on Memphis is the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
Cincinnati bowl projection
Bonagura projects the Bearcats to take on Texas State in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.
Texas Tech bowl projections
Bonagura projects an SMU vs Texas Tech Pop-Tarts Bowl.

Bonagura's projection for the Valero Alamo Bowl is Kansas State vs Washington.
Schlabach also has the Wildcats in that bowl, against USC.
Utah bowl projections
Bonagura has the SRS Distribution Sun Bowl featuring the Utes and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Schlabach's projection for that game also pits Utah against Nebraska.
Kansas bowl projections
According to Schlabach, the Jayhawks are projected to face Army in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
Bonagura has Kansas facing Florida in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
