Anthony DeSclafani struck out four in three hitless innings for his first career save. He issued two walks in the ninth before striking out Michael A. Taylor to end it.
Pavin Smith extended the Diamondbacks' lead to 5–0 in the second with his seventh homer – a three-run shot to right field off Shane Smith (3–5), who lasted just two innings. Ketel Marte and Pavin Smith hit back-to-back homers off Dan Altavilla in the fourth for a 7–0 advantage. It was the 14th home run for Marte, who finished 3 for 6 and has gone 13 for 21 with at least three hits in each of his last four starts.
Jose Herrera had RBI singles in the fifth and ninth. Position player Vinny Capra made his third appearance in relief this season for Chicago. He surrendered an RBI ground-rule double to Geraldo Perdomo in the ninth following Herrera's RBI but struck out Marte to end the inning.
Key moment: Suárez's return to the dugout with a smile on his face put one on manager Torey Lovullo's after X-rays on his right hand were negative.
Key stat: Arizona has won ten of thirteen in Chicago and eighteen of twenty-five overall in the series.
Up next: The White Sox haven't announced a starter for Tuesday against Diamondbacks RHP Ryne Nelson (4–2, 3.88 ERA).

Mogilny finally gets the call as the Hockey Hall of Fame elects him as part of the Class of 2025
Alexander Mogilny's long wait for the Hockey Hall of Fame is over. The high-scoring Russian winger was named Tuesday as part of the eight-member class of 2025. Mogilny was joined by fellow former NHL players Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, and Duncan Keith, as well as women's hockey stars Brianna Decker and Jennifer Botterill. Mogilny had been eligible for election 16 previous years, dating to 2009, passed over time after time until getting in on the 17th chance. Ron Francis, chairman of the 18-person selection committee, for the first time in announcing Mogilny's inclusion, mentioned that Mogilny is one of just 30 players in the Triple Gold Club for winning the Stanley Cup and gold at the Olympics and world championships. Mogilny also led the league in goals in 1992–93 with a total of 76, which is tied for the fifth most in a single season. Thornton, Chara, and Keith all got in in their first year of eligibility. Thornton's 1,539 points rank him 14th all time, while Chara captained Boston to the Cup in 2011, and Keith won it three times with Chicago, including in 2015 as playoff MVP. Decker and Botterill going in at the same time adds another American and Canadian among women inducted, making it a total of 12. Longtime Boston University coach Jack Parker and women's coach Daniele Sauvageau were elected in the builders category. Sauvageau, currently the general manager for Montreal in the Professional Women's Hockey League, is the first woman to make it in as a builder. 'When I received the call, I couldn't talk,' said Sauvageau, who got the news hours before the PWHL draft after interviewing a player who could be chosen. 'The timing could not have been better.'

Rangers Left-Hander Cody Bradford Will Have Elbow Surgery After Setback in Rehab
Texas Rangers left-hander Cody Bradford will have elbow surgery Wednesday after a setback during his rehab from a left elbow sprain that has kept him out all season. Chris Young, the team's president of baseball operations, said Tuesday that Bradford felt something in his elbow when he resumed throwing after a recent flu bug. He then saw team physician Dr. Keith Meister, who will do the surgery. The 27-year-old Bradford is 10–6 with a 4.28 ERA in 34 games (21 starts) for Texas the past two seasons. He was expected to be part of the starting rotation this season but was shut down during spring training in mid-March because of elbow soreness. As a rookie, Bradford was 1–0 with a 1.17 ERA in five relief appearances during the 2023 playoffs when the Rangers won their first World Series title. He pitched a scoreless inning in Game 1 and another in Game 4 against Arizona in the World Series. Young said the team would have a better idea of a timeline for Bradford's recovery after the surgery is done and that it would depend on the extent of the procedure. 'A tough blow for the team, but more importantly for Cody. He had worked extremely hard, looked great this spring,' Young said. 'Obviously was going to be a big part of our season this year, and to lose him today is tough news. … We look forward to helping Cody get back to full health and contributing in the future.'

NBA Hits 5 Billion Social Views During Finals. OKC's Game 7 Win Draws Top Finals Audience in 6 Years
The NBA generated more than 5 billion views across social media platforms during this season's NBA Finals, up 215 percent from last season's title series. That figure, released Tuesday, follows a 10 percent leap in overall viewership for ESPN and ABC during the 34 games they carried in this year's playoffs, as opposed to their numbers from a year ago. Also, Oklahoma City's 103–91 victory over Indiana in Game 7 was the most-watched NBA Finals game in six years. Sunday night's game averaged 16.53 million on ABC and ESPN+, according to preliminary ratings data from Nielsen. The audience peaked at 19.28 million during the second half (9:45–10 p.m. EDT). It is the first time since Toronto wrapped up its title in Game 6 against Golden State in 2019 (18.34 million) that the finals have had an audience over 16 million. The last Game 7, when Cleveland beat Golden State in 2016, averaged 31.02 million. This seven-game series averaged 10.27 million, down from the 11.31 million average for Boston's victory over Dallas in five games last year. The seven games were the most-watched television broadcasts since the first week of May. Game 7 was the most-watched finals game internationally ever on NBA League Pass, the league said, up 42 percent vs. last year's title-clinching Game 5. This year's NBA finals viewership increased significantly across platforms. Game 7 was particularly popular, marking the highest viewership in six years with over 16.5 million viewers on ABC and ESPN+.
