Richard Madeley has been criticised for his "disrespectful" behaviour towards a Good Morning Britain colleague during a fiery debate.
On Wednesday, Richard co-hosted the ITV show with Kate Garraway, and they were joined by newsreader Marverine Cole and journalists Andrew Pierce and Ava Santina-Evans to discuss new police guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of online misinformation.
However, during the conversation, Richard interrupted Marverine as she was discussing stereotypes, which led to GMB viewers branding him as "rude".
Marverine was explaining: "People of non-white backgrounds are 'troublemakers' whether they are asylum seekers or not. That was a narrative that never was around when I was younger,".
As she tried to continue, Richard interjected, stating: "But the more you withhold that information, when it is released or when it leaks out, it has much more impact because it is a rarity.", reports the Mirror.
He added: "If you actually, completely lift the lid on this and are open every single time somebody is accused, arrested or charged.
"You're open about who they are, where they're from, you reduce the impact of the rare occasions when it leaks or it leaks inaccurately."
Marverine maintained her composure despite the disruption, replying: "I appreciate that, but it goes hand in hand with a rhetoric which is across the country now, which is 'It's got to be a black person, it's got to be an asylum seeker who has done this hideous thing. And if it is, we're going to kick off as a nation. If it is a white person, then it is OK'."

Richard faced fierce criticism on social media from viewers, with many branding him disrespectful towards Marverine during the ITV show.
"#gmb wish Madeley would stop talking over Marverine, so rude!" one ITV viewer raged.
Another chimed in: "#gmb Richard Madeley shut up let people talk! ! ! !".
A third remarked: "Quite eye opening the way ignoramus Richard Madeley was talking over Marverine Cole trying to get a point across."
A fourth GMB watcher observed: "Richard is so disrespectful omg! ! #gmb," whilst a fifth raged: "Ok I remember why I stopped watching #gmb now."

EastEnders star teases 'really disturbing' storyline for the Knight family

EastEnders star Colin Salmon, who plays George Knight on the BBC soap, has teased that a 'really disturbing' storyline is coming up for his Walford family Colin Salmon has teased that he has a 'really disturbing' storyline coming up on EastEnders, The actor, 63, plays George Knight on the BBC soap and while he cannot say much about what to come, he has promised that something is coming up that is 'perfect' viewers right now. ‌ Fans of the London-based soap will know that George was previously at the centre of a baby farming storyline, after he learned from his parents that they were actually paid to take him rather than adopt him of their own choosing, but he explained that something even more dramatic is on the cards. ‌ During an appearance on Friday's Good Morning Britain, he told hosts Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins: "We've got another storyline you haven't seen before. I did the farming storyline, we have another storyline that is perfect for this time, it's real, it's really disturbing and it's coming. I can't tell you what it is." It comes after one EastEnders star was announced to be taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing. ‌ Colin, who is known starring in the James Bond franchise, and has also appeared on other TV staples like Doctor Who and Merlin over the course of his career, was introduced to Albert Square as George in 2023, and headed up the Knight family alongside son Junior (Micah Balfour), Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry). He married Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) but began an affair with ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), which culminated in kicking off the Who Attacked Cindy? storyline last Christmas when she was attacked with a shovel. In making history for the soap, George became the first black landlord of the famed Queen Vic pub, and Colin insisted that while he has never tried explicitly to change things in terms of diversity, he has always faced things head on as he has tried to move forward within his career.. He added: "It was interesting because I'd been asked before and I'd known that family that life. If you see it, you can be it, it's a real simple thing. I've lived by life trying to be Avant-garde but not in an aggressive way or an antagonistic way, but just being myself in going forward without fear." Meanwhile, Colin is now reprising his role as as the Barber in Nobody 2, the sequel to the 2021 comedy, alongside Bob Odenkirk, and recalled arriving on the set to discover that his co-star is a fan of the show, and he told him about the workload that comes with making a continuing drama. He said: "When I arrived in Winnipeg I had to shoot all my scenes very quickly. And my manager in Hollywood said 'You can't do that!' I said 'Do you realise what I do for a day job? Once arriving on set, I was asked about EastEnders, and I said 'Oh we shoot a movie in a week, we shoot very quickly.'" ‌ For EastEnders fans, the storyline that Colin teased comes shortly after it was announced that his on-screen daughter Anna is to leave Walford for good. According to a source it was a mutual decision between actress Molly and soap bosses, following new Executive Producer Ben Wadey taking over the soap. It's claimed Molly is ready for new ventures, while details on Anna's exit remain under wraps for now. The BBC told us in June : "We can confirm that Molly Rainford will be leaving EastEnders later this year, and we wish her all the best for the future." Anna's biggest storylines have included her being spiked, being revealed as Cindy Beale's daughter, and her love triangle with Bobby Beale and Freddie Slater. ‌ A source confirmed the decision behind the exit, and said to The Sun: 'New boss Ben Wadey is making sweeping changes on the show and his decision coincided with Mollie deciding she wanted to pursue other challenges." They added: "New boss Ben Wadey is making sweeping changes on the show and his decision coincided with Molly deciding she wanted to pursue other challenges. "She's hugely talented and wants to spread her wings and see what else is out there for her." Molly's character Anna arrived in 2023 as part of the Knight family, with dad George, sister Gina and stepmother Elaine Peacock. They took over The Queen Vic, and soon it was revealed Anna was Cindy's secret daughter."

This Morning star speaks out on Loose Women move ahead of major ITV change-up

EXCLUSIVE: The This Morning regular joined the panel on the ITV programme's sister show Loose Women last week, and has now addressed her future on the show Doctor Zoe Williams is hoping to make a return to Loose Women, after being a part of the show's first-ever Loose Doctors episode last week. Alongside Dr Amir Khan, Dr Hilary Jones, and Dr Nighat Arif, the 45-year-old shared her expertise on a number of taboo topics as well as tips on how we can all improve our health. ‌ Discussing her experience on the show, the This Morning regular said it was "an absolute privilege" to be a part of the episode, and expressed a desire to do it again. ‌ She added: "The four of us are genuine friends as well as mutually respected doctors, so we felt able to have those really raw, honest conversations, and we had a lot of fun too." ‌ Asked if she would consider a return, Zoe continued: "Our hope is that there will be further episodes of Loose Doctors as we have so many ideas and so much more to share. "It was difficult to narrow down what topics we would discuss on the first show. It somewhat depends on the response from the public, so if you loved it, please share." Zoe is mostly recognised for her regular appearances on This Morning, where she often gives her perspective on many health topics, including personal stories from guests. From January 2026, the show will remain on television in its usual slot, though this isn't the same for other programmes in the ITV schedule. Lorraine Kelly's self-titled show will air for just 30 minutes instead of an hour on a seasonal schedule, running 30 weeks of the year. Loose Women will follow suit, though it will retain its one-hour slot from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. ‌ With the programme scheduled to air fewer episodes, there's speculation that the current roster of 26 panellists may also face cuts. For now, Zoe remains as a regular face on ITV and, as part of her hectic schedule, she has also partnered up with Tesco's campaign to support their Free Fruit For Kids' initiative. ‌ As many parents will know, getting children to eat healthy food such as fruit can be a difficult task, but Zoe has three tips that can help with this. She firstly suggests making the process fun, explaining: "Whether it's a sticker chart or getting kids involved in preparing and cooking food, making the process fun and interactive can encourage the whole household to eat more fruit and veg." Secondly, the doctor believes pairing fruit with tasty extras can make it look more appealing. "Sometimes all it takes is a little twist. Try serving apple slices with peanut butter, banana with yoghurt, or berries with granola. Fun pairings can help children get over texture or taste barriers," she added. Trying new recipes is Zoe's third tip, adding: "Your five a day don't have to come in the form of snacks or even whole fruit – you can incorporate fruit and veg into new recipes and formats like smoothies, juices or even desserts." Free Fruit for kids is launching in all large UK stores and selected click and collect locations, from the 4th to the 17th August 2025. T&C's apply.
