ROME — An American man was arrested Friday afternoon in Greece in the killing of a baby girl whose body was found along with her dead mother last week in a park in central Rome, Italian authorities said.
Italian prosecutors said that there was not enough evidence to charge the man, who was arrested on the Greek island of Skiathos, with killing the mother because the cause of her death had not been determined.

More than 40 years after a woman was stabbed 30 times in her home and killed, cops say they have identified a suspect. The announcement comes after another man wrongly served 20 years behind bars for the killing. This week, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office in Massachusetts announced the developments into the 1980 murder of Katharina Reitz Brow. Authorities now say Joseph Leo Boudreau was the killer. He was 37 years old at the time of the murder and died in 2004. Brow, 48, was found murdered in her Ayer, Massachusetts, home on May 21, 1980. She was killed between 7 a.m. when her husband left for work and 10:45 a.m. when she was found. Brow was stabbed 30 times and had been struck with a blunt object. Her home showed signs of a struggle with her purse and a 'large sum' of money missing. Investigators found the knife in a wastebasket. Kenneth Waters was arrested a year after the killing and was convicted in 1983. However, he was exonerated in 2001 when it was determined his DNA was not in a bloodstain at the scene. At the time of his arrest, his blood type matched the bloodstain. However, technology developments led to better DNA testing and proved Waters was not at the scene. In 2022, investigators again looked at the case. They were able to test DNA and link it to relatives of a suspect. That led to Boudreau being identified as the killer, prosecutors said. He was convicted of armed robbery in 1975, six years before the murder. Police say there is no link between Boudreau and Walters. 'No matter how much time passes, our priority remains the same, to seek answers. In this case, that meant identifying the person responsible for Mrs. Brow's death, even though they could no longer be held accountable through the criminal system. Today, we are able to name her killer and provide long-overdue clarity to her family,' District Attorney Marian Ryan said. Ayer Police Chief Brian Gill added: 'The investigative breakthrough came when forensic investigative genetic genealogy DNA testing was applied to evidence recovered at the scene. This ultimately led us to today's announcement. I am thankful, that we may be able to finally bring some closure to the Brow family and a measure of justice for Katharina.'

Man arrested in murder of woman found with neck injury in Brooklyn basement
A 32-year old man has been arrested for murder after telling cops in Buffalo, NY, that his girlfriend was dead at a house in Brooklyn where NYPD cops later found her body, which showed signs of a neck injury, police said Saturday. John Roseau, 32, was arrested one day after he walked into a Buffalo police station and told police there that his girlfriend was dead, giving them the address of a house on New York Ave. near E. 33rd St. in Midwood, a police source said. NYPD officers performing a wellness check found 26-year-old Dahana Jean there in a room in the basement lying on her back unconscious and unresponsive with a neck injury, cops said. EMS pronounced Jean dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide, but is still investigating how she died. 'It's terrible. It's disgusting,' said Patrick Joseph, 62, who rents a room in the basement next to the one where Jean's body was found. 'She was only a 26-year-old girl.' The basement of the two-family home where Jean's body was discovered had been subdivided into single rooms separately rented out by individual tenants. Joseph told a Daily News reporter on Friday night that Jean's father used to rent the room next to his, in which the victim's body was found, but that the father had recently died. Jean occasionally stayed in the room following her dad's death, but typically resided somewhere else, according to Joseph. 'She stays here sometimes, but this was temporary,' he said. 'Her father dropped her off here when he was living here.' When asked where Jean lived, Joseph gave an address that police later identified as Roseau's, an apparent building on Snyder Ave. in Flatbush. Roseau is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police find 2 shot outside Millsboro-area home; a third man shot inside house dies
A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with a Millsboro-area shooting that left one teen dead and two others injured in the early hours of June 14. Marcus Harris has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, Delaware State Police said. Harris was in a house located in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive near Millsboro. Also in the house were a 19-year-old man and two other men. Harris and the teen were acquaintances of a woman who lives in the house. While in the house, police said, the teen got into an argument with the woman, who no longer wanted him or the other two men in the home. A fight began between Harris and the 19-year-old about 2 a.m., police said. It was during the fight that Harris shot the teen and the two other men. The woman was not injured during the shooting. Officers found two men outside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen, who was inside the home, was provided first aid, but he died at the scene. The two other men were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Harris was found inside the house and taken into custody without incident, police said. After being charged, Harris was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction after failing to post $480,000 cash bail. The Millsboro-area shooting was the second fatal one that morning in Kent County in which there were multiple victims. Five men were shot, one fatally, earlier that morning in Dover, police said. That shooting left a 22-year-old man dead.
