Tirupati: The three-day annual Vasanthotsavams at the Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor concluded on Tuesday. The SnapanaTirumanjanam was performed from 2.30pm to 4.30 pm. As part of this, Abhishekam was performed with turmeric, saffron, milk, curd, honey, sandalwood and various fruit juices.
TTD temple priests Babu Swamy, Deputy EO Govinda Rajan, AEO Chiranjeevulu, Superintendent Ramesh, temple inspector Chalapathy, Subbarayudu and a large number of devotees participated.

The processional deity of Lord Govindaraja was carried around the temple in Tirupati on 'Surya Prabha Vahanam' and 'Chandra Prabha Vahanam' in the morning and evening respectively on Sunday, June 8, 2025s part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams. On a bright sunny day, the Surya Prabha Vahanam started as per schedule, while the sun's rays touched the dazzling deity while the procession reached Gandhi Road. The mesmerised crowd of devotees gathered on the side of the road chanted 'Govinda Govinda'. Similarly, the resplendent deity shone under the milky white radiance emitted by the moon during the 'Chandra Prabha Vahanam' taken out in the evening. According to scriptures, the above two processions taken out on the seventh day of the nine-day fete are meant to establish the Lord's supremacy over the celestial beings and to show that the entire universe is in His control. Tirumala Tirupati Pedda Jeeyangar, Chinna Jeeyangar and the TTD's Deputy Executive Officer K. Shanti led the processions.

Tirumala: On World Environment Day, TTD has organised plantation programme in Tirumala near Gogarbham Circle on Thursday. TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary planted Ficus Bengalensis (Banyan-Marri) plant in the premises of Octopus Building. He said that TTD is planting 2,000 saplings in Tirumala on this occasion. Stating that they took steps to increase greenery in Tirumala by 80 per cent, he informed soon they will organise a programme to plant two lakh saplings along with forest department. TTD Deputy CF Srinivas, Deputy EO (Health) Somannarayana, FRO Doraswamy, health officer Madhusudhan, EE Sudhakar and officers also planted samplings.

: (TTD) has vowed to embark on a massive afforestation drive on the occasion of the on Thursday. TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Choudary took part in the environment day celebrations organised by the forest department at Tirumala earlier in the day. Speaking to reporters later, Ch Venkaiah Choudary stated that the TTD will soon embark on a mission to plant 2 lakh saplings across the Seshachalam forests which houses the iconic Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala. "The idea is to enhance the forest cover from 70% to 80% near Tirumala. TTD will join hands with the state forest department and initiate this mega afforestation drive. Earlier, during his reviews on TTD activities, chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had also directed the Tirupati trust to draw up plans to enhance the forest cover in a big way," the additional EO recalled. "Beat plastic is this year's environment day's theme and the TTD is playing a significant role in banning the use of plastic in a big way. TTD is the first temple trust in the world to ban the use of packaged drinking water in plastic bottles at Tirumala, where the annual pilgrim footfall is over 2.5 crore. TTD has also stopped using materials made of plastic across all its departments at Tirumala as well," he added.
