Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 is reportedly in the works — but we could be waiting a while
A new report has revealed that Samsung is working on the sequel to one of the best smart rings on the market, the Galaxy Ring 2.
This news comes from Galaxy Club, who claims that Samsung has started work on its next generation of smart rings. This is great news as we loved the original Galaxy Ring that launched in 2024 and have been looking forward to a successor device. However, there is some bad news about when we could be getting it.
Galaxy Club's report makes it clear that the development process is still in the very early stages. As such, a release this year is highly unlikely, which makes sense as there was no mention made at the 2025 Galaxy Unpacked back in January.
Considering it usually takes several months to move through the design process, we may hear more about the Galaxy Ring 2 at a Galaxy Unpacked event next year. These normally take place in early spring and late summer each year.
We've been hearing a lot of rumors about the Galaxy Ring 2, including that it could feature a solid-state battery that could drastically increase the battery life. For reference, the Galaxy Ring is stated to offer around 7 days on full charge, but we found you'll likely get about 5 days off a full charge from regular use.
If the new battery rumor is accurate, and does improve the battery life as much as hoped, then the next generation of Galaxy Rings could outlast even the class-leading Oura Ring 4, which is claimed to last for up to 8 days (although we found it needed charging after 6).
The Galaxy Ring 2 may also use an onboard body temperature sensor, based on a recent patent filed by Samsung. This could differentiate between your skin temperature and the temperature of external objects, using a motion sensor to judge what you're trying to measure.

There are also indications that Samsung could help to make the Galaxy Ring 2 more inclusive by including sizes 14 and 15 to the range. The size 14 Galaxy Ring 2 will apparently boast a 23mm interior diameter, and the size 15 ring would have a 23.8mm interior diameter.
For the time being, we have to take any hardware rumors with a grain of salt, but the future is certainly looking bright for Samsung's next wearable. However, let us know what you think and if there are any major changes that you want to see in the Galaxy Ring 2?

Most modern games now offer HDR support as well, so you can count on a big visual boost if your current display is not HDR-capable. Samsung Signals Major New Galaxy Z Fold 7 Phone Upgrade

More Getty Images) After debuting the Galaxy S25 Edge last month, which came with a bunch of freebies and launched a new device range, Samsung has teased its next phone release: the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It is no secret that the Korean company will release the seventh generation of the Galaxy Fold and Flip lines this summer. The big question, however, is will the new Fold be an iteration on previous models, or a major redesign that includes a larger cover screen? A design change that Samsung fans have requested for years. The good news is that those prayers appear to have been answered. I am reliably told that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 does have a significantly larger cover screen, something closer to the size of a standard smartphone. Samsung has also published a teaser press release that not-so-subtly hints at a bigger display on the new foldable. 'For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor.' The press release reads. The Fold 7 isn't directly named, but the blacked out teaser image clearly shows a Galaxy Fold silhouette. Digital Trends also received a press image with the file name 'Galaxy-Z-Fold7-Z-Flip7-Pre-tease-Bartype_1920x1080.gif.' As I say, the existence of the Fold 7 isn't a surprise, but the early teaser and the heavy hint of a bigger display is. It's worth saying that the press images I received had no revealing file names. Samsung's not-so mysterious foldable phone The repeated use of the word 'Ultra' in the press releases also hints at a long rumored higher-end version of the Fold 7. Although the file name discovered by Digital Trends doesn't suggest that the Korean company will launch two separate Fold 7 units (an Ultra and a standard model), rather the Fold will have the word 'Ultra' tacked on to its name. Maybe Samsung has a secret second Fold device up its sleeve, but I doubt it. What is more likely is that Samsung is renaming the Fold to give it a marketing boost and reflect the device's new hardware credentials. Samsung implies that the new handset will have 'better cameras,' which has been a consistent problem for the Fold (and Flip) range. The Fold 6 is a $1,899 smartphone, $600 more than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the former sports worse camera performance despite being significantly more expensive. The new camera setup alongside a bigger screen answers two of the most prominent quibbles Samsung users have voiced about its foldable phones. The final mystery is the new device's battery life. We will have to see how new, more resource-intensive specifications, impact battery life on a foldable phone that was already power-hungry.

iPhone 17 price looks more certain to rise for first time since the iPhone 12
For years now, Apple has launched the base model iPhone at $799 – but in 2025, more and more signs are pointing towards prices being increased for the introduction of the iPhone 17. The likelihood of an iPhone 17 price increase was raised by the Wall Street Journal in May, and now Counterpoint Research notes in its recent 2025 shipment forecast that 'cost increases are expected to be passed on to consumers' by not only Apple, but Samsung as well. Recommended Videos With the latter also mentioned, it means we could well see inflated prices for the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 (although the names have now been confirmed) which might arrive as soon as July, alongside a potentially even pricier Z Fold Ultra model. While Samsung raised the price of its Fold handset between the 5th (2023) and 6th (2024) generations, Apple hasn't increased the price of its base level iPhone for five years, when the iPhone 12 arrived in 2020 at $100 more than the iPhone 11 did in 2019. Since 2020, Apple has impressively kept the price of its new iPhone static at $799 with each new generation. According to Counterpoint Research, the recent tariffs imposed by the US government on markets around the world will contribute to the increased cost of the iPhone 17 – which could have a knock-on effect in the popularity of the new iPhone in North America. Liz Lee, Associate Director at Counterpoint Research noted, 'All eyes are on Apple and Samsung because of their exposure to the US market. Although tariffs have played a role in our forecast revisions, we are also factoring in weakened demand not just in North America but across Europe and parts of Asia.' However, according to the earlier Wall Street Journal report, Apple could look to avoid using tariffs as the reason for the price increase. Instead the firm might point to a new design and new features to help it justify the hike in cost to consumers. With this approach, we expect the 'new' iPhone price won't be a one-off reaction in a year of economic uncertainty and tariffs, but a readjustment of the baseline for the cost of the iPhone. Basically, if iPhone prices are increased this year, don't expect Apple to bring them down in future years, even if the tariffs are dropped. So how much will the iPhone 17 cost? And that really is the million (or at least several hundred) dollar question. For now, it's impossible to say how much the iPhone 17 will cost. Apple is famously tight-lipped around new launches, shying away from product teasers or drip-feeding information in the build-up to an announcement. It means we'll likely be waiting until September (Apple's usual iPhone announcement month) before we find out for sure how much the iPhone 17 will cost. While Apple will be hosting its WWDC 2025 keynote just next week, we don't expect Tim Cook and co. to get bogged down in price talk – the focus will almost certainly be on its new software updates, including iOS 19, macOS 16, as well as Apple Intelligence. If the thought of an increased price for the iPhone 17 puts you off considering an upgrade you may want to consider picking up the iPhone 16, or even the iPhone 15. Both of these handsets still have multiple years of software updates ahead of them, providing you with excellent longevity at a more affordable price.
