Broome Ladies Day bursts with colour as Nadria Moss and Border Control take top honours
Nadria Moss stunned onlookers in Fashions on the Field, winning first place and a $2000 South Sea Pearls voucher from Allure with her striking orange and blue dress and matching fascinator, which reflected the iconic natural colours of the Broome landscape.
The feature race, the $40,000 TABtouch Broome Sprint, saw Border Control, ridden by Natasha Faithfull and trained by Timothy Pike, win in 1:15.63 by a margin of 1.52 lengths.
Border Control was followed by Make Your Point, ridden by Elisha Whittington and trained by Peter Farrell, in second place, and Mocha Dream, ridden by Rosie Mahony and trained by John Doyle, in third.

Iconic Australian film critic David Stratton dead at 85
Australian film critic and writer David Stratton has died in hospital at the age of 85. The English-born film critic was best known for his role as co-host of film review shows alongside Margaret Pomeranz. ‘He can win on Saturday': Trains Jim and Greg Lee expect Convergent to bounce back at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday
Trainer Greg Lee is expecting Convergent to rebound immediately from a disappointing last start effort when he contests the Midway Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Convergent was in the market when resuming in similar class in very heavy conditions two weeks ago and ran only seventh to Cold Brew. This was an out-of-character run from Convergent who had won impressively on debut at Kensington on Anzac Day then ran second at Randwick at his only other race starts. 'I think he can win on Saturday but I will be even more confident when he gets to 1800m in two weeks,'' Lee, who trains in partnership with his brother Jim, said. 'At his first-up run, he got a bit then was almost knocked down but he wasn't travelling at the time. 'When something like that happens, nine times out of 10 horses don't pick up and finish off like he did. 'But he got going again and through the line he was as good as the winner.'' 'Unfortunately, he came down with colic and I've had to turn him out,'' Lee said. 'But he's a very good young horse, he will be back as good as gold. All going well, we might look to run him again later in the spring.''
