Spurs Announce Jersey Deal With Paris-Based Digital Asset Security Firm Ledger
The Spurs have long had an enormous following in France, with players like Tony Parker and Boris Diaw playing for San Antonio before the team drafted Wembanyama in 2023. 'This moment cements a decades-long history of international collaboration and growth by the Spurs organization as the game of basketball has grown to touch every culture and continent,' said RC Buford, the CEO of Spurs Sports & Entertainment. It is a multi-year deal, but specific terms were not announced.

Ledger is a relatively new company. It was started 10 years ago to help safeguard digital assets for cryptocurrency users. It has grown wildly since, now used by millions of individuals around the world to secure more than 20 percent of all crypto.
'Aligning ourselves with an historic US sports team, which boasts a deep French connection past and present, will help us onboard the next generation of sovereign individuals,' said Pascal Gauthier, Chairman & CEO of Ledger. 'The San Antonio Spurs, at the heart of America in Texas, is the future of the league, growing their fandom rapidly and the most international team the NBA has to offer.'
The Spurs have had players from more than 30 countries play for the organization. They will debut their new Ledger-branded jerseys at the NBA draft on Wednesday. They currently have the No. 2 and No. 14 picks in the first round. The first game with the new patch will be at the California Classic summer league on July 5, and the patches will be on both the San Antonio and the G League's Austin Spurs jerseys.
Also in the deal: Ledger will join the Spurs' ongoing community efforts in Paris, which started earlier this year with the team launching a multi-year plan to renovate outdoor basketball courts. Ledger also becomes the presenting partner of Spurs Tech & Basketball Camp, which uses sports and technology applications to engage school-aged participants ages 10–14 – connecting young basketball players with science, technology, engineering, and math and showing how all those elements are tied to the game.

Bugatti Masterpieces and Speed Battles Dominate This Week's Auto Headlines
The automotive world is buzzing with excitement this week, blending luxury, innovation, and raw power in stories that will be remembered for years to come. From Bugatti's one-off multimillion-dollar masterpiece to Ford's multibillion-dollar bet on affordable EVs, from Mercedes' fiery warnings to European lawmakers, to Dodge's bold revival of muscle car spirit, and Koenigsegg's jaw-dropping world record… it's clear that the industry never stops surprising us. Bugatti 'Bruyer' — A $30 Million One-Off Masterpiece Bugatti is no stranger to jaw-dropping debuts, but its latest creation redefines exclusivity. At the prestigious The Quail event, the French marque unveiled the Bruyer, a one-of-one hypercar crafted for a single customer. Under the hood lies an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine delivering a staggering 1,578 horsepower. With a fixed glass roof and a hand-built interior, the car exudes bespoke craftsmanship. The price? Rumored to exceed $30 million. More than a car, the Bruyer is a bold statement that Bugatti has moved beyond limited-series production into the realm of true one-off artistry. Ford's 'Model T' EV Moment Ford's CEO Jim Farley described it as nothing less than a revolution: a new Model T moment — this time for electric vehicles. Speaking in Kentucky, Farley announced a $5 billion investment to modernize the Louisville Assembly Plant and build a new battery facility in Michigan. At the core of this plan is a mid-size electric pickup with a target starting price of just $30,000, slated for 2027. But the real breakthrough isn't only in affordability — it's in a radically new assembly process designed to echo the spirit of the original Model T, which once transformed the industry. While some models have been pushed back to 2028, Ford is betting that mass-market, practical, and affordable EVs will put it back at the center of the electric revolution. Mercedes Warns: A 2035 Ban Could Trigger Market Collapse Ole Källenius, Mercedes-Benz CEO, sent shockwaves through the industry with his blunt criticism of the EU's plan to ban new internal combustion engine sales by 2035. He warned that the market simply isn't ready for a forced all-EV future. Calling for a 'reality check,' Källenius cautioned that enforcing such a mandate could 'collapse' Europe's car market, citing weak EV demand and fierce competition from China. Instead, he urged lawmakers to focus on tax incentives and cheaper charging costs to encourage adoption at a sustainable pace. His remarks, coinciding with Brussels' review of the 2035 plan, reflect growing concern that climate goals are racing ahead of market realities. 2026 Dodge Durango: All V8, No Compromise In an era where most brands are downsizing or going hybrid, Dodge is doubling down on muscle. The upcoming 2026 Durango will ditch the V6 entirely, offering only V8 engines across the lineup — from the GT trim all the way up to the 710-hp Hellcat. Even the entry-level GT will come standard with a HEMI V8, starting at $44,500, about $4,000 more than the outgoing V6 model. It's not just a technical update — it's Dodge sending a loud message: the muscle SUV is alive and well, even as the rest of the industry pivots to electrification. Koenigsegg vs. Rimac: The Battle for Speed Supremacy The race for ultimate speed has a new champion. With the Jesko Absolut, Koenigsegg shattered the 0–400–0 km/h record, stopping the clock at just 25.21 seconds, beating the Rimac Nevera R's previous best of 25.79 seconds. What's remarkable is that Koenigsegg didn't rely on mechanical upgrades, but on advanced software optimizations that fine-tuned transmission response and torque delivery. The result? A breathtaking sprint to 400 km/h — and back to zero — faster than any car in history. Rimac's founder, Mate Rimac, quickly fired back, promising to reclaim the crown soon. The stage is now set for another thrilling round in one of the greatest supercar rivalries the world has ever seen.

NBA great Tyson Chandler says Abu Dhabi ‘is in for a show' when Knicks face 76ers
DUBAI: The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers are set to bring one of basketball's fiercest rivalries to the UAE capital this October, as they face off in The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025 presented by ADQ. For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport The preseason matchups, taking place on Oct. 2 and 4 at Etihad Arena, will see two storied franchises meet in the Middle East, a stage Knicks legend Tyson Chandler believes will deliver far more than exhibition basketball. 'It's huge,' Chandler said recently. 'Players really enjoy going over there, experiencing a different culture, and broadening their horizons. 'It's just as beneficial for the fans as it is for the players. They get to see the NBA put on a great show, watch some of the top athletes in the world, and enjoy a great environment. Any time the NBA is able to connect globally, it's a great thing.' This year's clashes coincide with the 75th anniversary of the first Knicks–76ers meeting, a milestone Chandler says will only add to the intensity on court. 'Abu Dhabi is in for a show,' he added. 'When the Knicks and the 76ers roll in, you're looking at two of the most talented rosters in the NBA. We've got two of the best centers in the world, two of the best point guards, and great wings on both sides. 'Whatever a young basketball player likes, they're going to see someone they can watch, learn from, and take something away. I'm excited to see what that sparks in this young generation.' The games will mark an early test for new Knicks head coach Mike Brown, a hire Chandler believes is perfectly timed. 'I love the hire,' the two-time NBA All-Star said. 'The Knicks needed somebody who could push them but also relate to them. Mike has had success, he's got coaching experience in different spots, and I think he's in a great place in his career.' 'Just like players, coaches grow through their experiences. It's perfect timing for him.' Chandler, who won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, says the Knicks have the roster to challenge for the title if they can keep their focus. 'As far as personnel, I don't think they're missing anything,' he said. 'Getting Karl-Anthony Towns (in 2024) was huge. Matching him with Jalen Brunson and putting him in Madison Square Garden, there's a certain type of pressure that brings out the best in you.' 'They've also added Jordan Clarkson off the bench (last month), which gives them extra firepower. The key is staying locked in. New York can bring a lot of excitement, but it can also distract you from the main goal. I think Mike Brown will do an excellent job of keeping them focused on the main thing.' Chandler, who is spending this week in Manchester for the 22nd Basketball Without Borders Europe camp organized by the NBA and FIBA, is taking part in an event held for the first time in the UK. The camp has brought together 60 of the top high-school-age boys and girls from 27 countries across Europe. 'You can watch from afar, you know, and continue to develop your game, but it's different when you're able to see something up close,' Chandler said, commenting on the importance of the BWB camp. 'It's different when you're able to see the players live, and I think it's very inspiring. 'Games being global now is giving youngsters a chance to see live athletes, see what the measuring stick is, even be inspired. 'Basketball Without Borders, having great talent, players, current and former coaches, referees, that is a priceless experience they are having because it's going to spark something, whether it's now or later, that's going to really help shape and develop who they are in their careers. 'What Basketball Without Borders is doing is really planting the seeds around the world that are going to eventually pay off in the next generation of basketball players.' For Chandler, whether in Manchester or Abu Dhabi, it all comes down to inspiring the next generation.

Report: France, Germany, UK Willing to Reinstate Sanctions on Iran
France, Germany and Britain have told the United Nations they are ready to reinstate sanctions on Iran if it does not return to negotiations with the international community over its nuclear program, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday. The foreign ministers of the so-called E3 group wrote to the UN on Tuesday to raise the possibility of "snapback" sanctions unless Iran takes action, the report said, citing a letter seen by the newspaper. "We have made it clear that if Iran is not willing to reach a diplomatic solution before the end of August 2025, or does not seize the opportunity of an extension, E3 are prepared to trigger the snapback mechanism," the ministers said in the letter, according to the report. Reuters could not immediately verify the report. The British, French and German governments did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment. The three European countries, along with China and Russia, are the remaining parties to a 2015 nuclear deal reached with Iran - from which the United States withdrew in 2018 - that lifted sanctions on the Middle Eastern country in return for restrictions on its nuclear program. The E3's warning comes after "serious, frank and detailed" talks with Iran in Istanbul last month, the first face-to-face meeting since Israeli and US strikes on the country's nuclear sites in June. Iranian lawmaker Manouchehr Mottaki, who served as foreign minister from 2005 to 2010, said Iran's parliament "has its finger on the trigger to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)" if international sanctions were reimposed after any E3 invocation of the snapback mechanism. Mottaki told Iran's semi-official Defa Press that parliament would approve a bill to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal within 24 hours if the E3 invoked the snapback mechanism. During its 12-day war with Israel in June, Tehran said its lawmakers were preparing a bill that could push it towards exiting the treaty, ratified by Tehran in 1970. The treaty guarantees countries the right to pursue civilian nuclear power in return for requiring them to forego atomic weapons and cooperate with the UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA.
