Chilli Idli
Ingredients: Oil - 1tbsp, garlic cloves - 3 to 4, chopped green chillies - 2 to 3, chopped ginger - half, capsicum - 1, red bell pepper - 1 , yellow bell pepper - 1, onions - 1, chopped spring onions - a handful; For the sauce — soy sauce - 2tbsps, chilli sauce - 1tbsp, ketchup - 1tbsp, vinegar - 1tbsp, cornflour slurry (cornflour and water) - 1tbsp
Method: In a pan, add the oil, garlic, chillies and ginger. Let it simmer until golden brown and till the fragrance of the ginger starts wafting through. Add the veggies in, and make sure that the onions aren't finely chopped but separated by the layers, Chinese style. While the vegetables crisp up, for the sauce mix the soy sauce, chilli sauce, ketchup and vinegar. Add this to the pan and give it a good toss before adding in the cornflour slurry. Once the sauce thickens and starts slightly bubbling, turn the heat off and add the idlis in — preferably cut into bite sized pieces, and give it a good mix. Garnish with some chopped spring onions before serving for some spicy crunch. Make sure to eat these chilli idlis right away so that they don't start disintegrating in the thick sauce. On the flip side, the idlis can be fried as well so as to let them hold their form better.
Store-bought idlis or a batch made from a ready-to-make mix works perfectly fine for this recipe, lest you don't want to go through the whole process of making idlis from scratch.

Indian national, Gautam Santhosh, among two killed in small plane crash in Canada; consulate offers support; cause under probe

The Piper PA-31 Navajo aircraft, registered to Kisik Aerial Survey Inc., went down about one kilometre south of the Deer Lake Regional Airport during a local flight, reported PTI citing CBC News. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the aircraft carried two people, a 54-year-old pilot and a 27-year-old passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation. "With deep sorrow, we mourn the tragic passing of Mr Gautam Santhosh, an Indian national, who lost his life in an accident involving a commercial survey aircraft near Deer Lake, Newfoundland," the Consulate said in a post on X on Tuesday. It added that the mission is in close contact with the bereaved family and local authorities to offer all necessary assistance. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the families of the deceased and their loved ones." "We will not be releasing the names of anyone involved with this incident, that information will be provided by the proper authorities," Naysmith added. CM inaugurates museum housing Buddha's relics
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Memorial Stupa in Vaishali district in the presence of Buddhist monks from 15 countries. Nitish also took part in the enshrinement ceremony of Lord Buddha's sacred relics in the main hall on the first floor of the stupa. "Amidst chanting of Buddhist hymns, monks ceremoniously enshrined the sacred relics of Lord Buddha in the new chamber. The CM participated in the installation and worship ceremony with devotion and paid homage to Lord Buddha. A written message from His Holiness the Dalai Lama was also read during the programme. Buddhist monks and followers from 15 countries attended the event.
