Houthi missile intercepted over Israel as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem sound sirens

Published July 1st, 2025 - 06:29 GMT The U.S. Ambassador to Israel responded sharply, suggesting retaliatory action: 'Perhaps B-2 bombers should visit Yemen,' he posted, expressing frustration at the widening missile threat. ALBAWABA- Air raid sirens blared across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and central Israel on Tuesday after a ballistic missile launched from Yemen was intercepted mid-air by Israel's Arrow defense system, according to Israeli military officials. The incident marks a new escalation in the regional conflict, as the Iran-backed Houthi movement continues its long-range strikes against Israeli targets. Footage widely circulated on social media captured the moment of interception, an eerie blue explosion lighting up the night sky. The Israeli Air Force was deployed in coordination with ground-based air defense units, and military sources confirmed the missile was successfully intercepted before reaching its target. — RT (@RT_com) July 1, 2025 The Israeli Home Front Command activated sirens across major urban centers, including Lod and the Ben Gurion International Airport, where video footage showed passengers fleeing terminals in panic as sirens rang out. The Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV aired footage of the chaos at the airport, naming the launch as part of its ongoing campaign in solidarity with Gaza. The U.S. Ambassador to Israel responded sharply, suggesting retaliatory action: 'Perhaps B-2 bombers should visit Yemen,' he posted, expressing frustration at the widening missile threat. He added, 'We thought we were done with missiles, but the Houthis sent one over our heads in Israel. Fortunately, the remarkable interception system allows us to head to shelters and wait until the danger passes.' The escalation comes against the backdrop of relentless Israeli strikes on Gaza. According to hospital sources in the Strip, 109 Palestinians were killed since dawn, including 28 people waiting for humanitarian aid. The mounting civilian toll has further inflamed regional tensions, with Houthi forces citing the Gaza war as justification for their strikes on Israel. Trump hails Iran strikes, urges Gaza ceasefire as Israeli forces intensify civilian massacres

Published July 1st, 2025 - 04:20 GMT Since May 27, over 600 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,250 injured while attempting to reach U.S.- and Israeli-distributed humanitarian aid at designated delivery points, many of which have come under direct fire. In response, documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon reveal that the Trump administration has formally requested the United Nations to remove Albanese from her post, accusing her of anti-Semitism and supporting terrorism. ALBAWABA- As Israeli forces escalate deadly assaults across the Gaza Strip, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Washington next week for what he described as a 'brief celebration' of the destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities. Trump also claimed that all targeted sites in Iran were 'completely destroyed' and expressed optimism that a deal to end the war in Gaza could be reached within days. ⚡️🇺🇸🇮🇱BREAKING:Reporter: "How firm are you going to be with Netanyahu about ending the war in Gaza?"U.S President Trump: 'Very firm but he wants it too….He wants to end it too... I think we'll have a deal next week.' 'We had a tremendous success with Iran, they're so bombed… — Suppressed News. (@SuppressedNws) July 1, 2025 'I will be firm with Netanyahu regarding ending the Gaza war,' Trump said, adding, 'Netanyahu wants to end the war in Gaza, and we have achieved great success in Iran.' He repeated his belief that a ceasefire agreement could be finalized 'next week.' BREAKING: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed he will visit Washington next week to meet with President Donald Trump and senior U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. — The Western Journal (@WesternJournalX) July 1, 2025 Israeli media confirmed Netanyahu's planned visit, while Israel's Foreign Minister urged global support for the emerging U.S. initiative to end the Gaza war. However, the timing of the announcement has drawn sharp criticism, as Israeli forces simultaneously continue a relentless campaign across Gaza, striking aid centers, shelters, and civilian gathering points. According to medical sources in Gaza, at least 81 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire since dawn today alone. The Al-Mamdani Baptist Hospital reported 10 deaths, including children, following an airstrike on Kushko Street in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City. Meanwhile, the Nasser Medical Complex confirmed multiple attacks: four killed in a targeted strike on a vehicle in Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, six killed, including two children, when a tent sheltering displaced people in Al-Mawasi was bombed, and 15 wounded in an assault on desperate civilians queuing for food east of Khan Younis. Yesterday, more than 30 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Baqa seaside resort. Families, artists, journalists, and activists had sought refuge from the heat in this known civilian rest area. Witnesses confirm there were no military targets present at the site. Since May 27, over 600 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,250 injured while attempting to reach U.S.- and Israeli-distributed humanitarian aid at designated delivery points, many of which have come under direct fire. Amid mounting international scrutiny, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese warned that 'the genocide in Gaza is profitable for commercial entities linked to apartheid.' In response, documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon reveal that the Trump administration has formally requested the United Nations to remove Albanese from her post, accusing her of anti-Semitism and supporting terrorism. Critics argue that Trump's celebration of military success in Iran and his confidence in a ceasefire deal ring hollow against the backdrop of what human rights observers call a rapidly worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. With civilian casualties mounting daily, the disconnect between diplomatic posturing and ground realities continues to grow sharper. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (
