Home Ministry To Move Out Of Iconic North Block Under Central Vista Revamp
The Ministry of Home Affairs is all set to move out of the historic North Block for the first time. Under the Central Vista redevelopment project, the MHA will shift into a new, state-of-the-art office complex in the next few days.
Sources say Home Secretary Govind Mohan's office had already moved last week. Nearly 25 per cent of the ministry has shifted, with the rest expected to follow soon.
The new complex, just 2 km from North Block, is equipped with modern security, digital infrastructure and green features. It houses all key departments -- internal security, border management, J&K affairs, and disaster management -- under one roof.
Officials believe the move will streamline functioning and improve coordination. The shift marks a major push towards smart governance under the Central Vista overhaul, which also includes the new Parliament and revamped Kartavya Path.

In a major breakthrough, the Army's elite para commandos on Monday gunned down the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack along with two of his associates in an encounter in a forest area on the outskirts of Srinagar in Kashmir. Officials said Sulieman alias Asif, who is believed to be the mastermind of the April 22 attack, was killed after the security forces launched a surprise action, codenamed 'Operation Mahadev', following a technical signal indicating the use of a satellite phone that was used by the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack. As many as 26 persons — mostly tourists — were shot dead by terrorists at Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam, which prompted the armed forces to launch Operation Sindoor on May 7 against the terror infrastructure in Pakistan.

Fraudsters spoof firm's SMS header to circulate bogus loan offers
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) registered a criminal case after a city-based private firm alleged that fraudsters spoofed one of its unused text-message headers to circulate bogus loan offers. Due to the fraudulent messages, the ministry of home affairs (MHA) blacklisted the header. The complainant, Sagi Prashanth (37), finance manager at Fitlife Fitness Foods LLP, alleged that while the company routinely uses the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approved header 'MTRIVA' solely to send one-time passwords (OTPs) to its mobile-app users, a second header, 'FILIFE', registered in Aug 2024, has never been activated. On June 9, the TRAI alerted the firm that 'FILIFE' was being misused to push fraudulent micro-loan messages. The misuse has led the MHA to blacklist the header, disrupting customer logins and affecting the company's nationwide user base, according to the FIR. "Preliminary evidence suggests the header may have been spoofed through some other SMS gateway. The fraudsters spoofed the FILIFE header to send their loan SMSes. As multiple victims reported the header for fraud, MHA blacklisted it, and the services were blocked," an investigator said. TGCSB will seek details of the fraudulent messages from the spoofed header from TRAI that were dispatched to various telecom operators to trace the accused. Meanwhile, Fitlife tightened its security protocols and urged customers not to click on loan links received from any sender resembling its brand.
