Hisar: Three young kawariyas from Hisar and Fatehabad districts lost their lives in separate road accidents during their pilgrimage, while one youth sustained injuries. The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Rahul from Thakur Basti (Fatehabad), 18-year-old Deepak from Umra village (Hansi, Hisar), and 19-year-old Rajan from Krishna Colony (Hansi, Hisar).
The injured youth is Gulshan, a resident of Fatehabad.
According to the family of Rahul, he and Gulshan departed from Fatehabad for Haridwar on July 18 to fetch kawar. While returning on Tuesday morning near Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, their vehicle suddenly braked, causing both to fall. They were rushed to the hospital, where Rahul succumbed to his injuries. The family has raised concerns over the circumstances of his death and has demanded a thorough investigation.
Deepak, a Class 11 student at the Sainik School in Umra village, left for Gomukh on July 14 with his maternal cousins for the Kawar Yatra. While returning on July 20, he was waiting by the roadside amid a heavy traffic jam in the Garam Chashma area of Uttarkashi district. There was no barricading at the spot, and he accidentally slipped, falling into a gorge approximately 1,100 feet deep. His body was recovered after a two-day operation by the NDRF and SDRF teams and was later handed over to his family after post-mortem examination.

In another incident, Rajan was reportedly riding a motorcycle carrying kawar towards Hansi when he was hit from behind near Majra Pyaau village by a speeding vehicle. Eyewitnesses claimed the vehicle also belonged to fellow kawariyas. However, amid the chaos, no one could record the vehicle's registration number.

Man gets life term for raping Dalit woman, sharing obscene photos

Agra: A 38-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a Dalit woman and circulating her obscene photos to her relatives. The SC/ST court in Agra, presided over by Judge Pushkar Upadhyay, also imposed a fine of ₹90,000 on the convict. Additional district govt counsel (ADGC) Hemant Dixit said on Saturday that the 30-year-old woman's mother, a farmer, had filed a police complaint against the accused in March 2022. "My daughter and the man were friends and used to speak regularly. After her engagement, we asked her to stop talking to him. But around Jan 2021, he convinced her to meet him one last time. During that meeting, he took obscene photos of her and forcefully did wrong things. My daughter returned home and told me everything. Out of shame, we didn't report it and got her married," the mother told the court during the trial. She added, "After the wedding, the man began sending my daughter's obscene photos to our relatives, including to the mobile phone of my brother-in-law's son-in-law. The pictures were sent to many relatives." Based on the FIR, police booked the accused under IPC sections 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman), along with section 67 of the IT Act and relevant provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villa Prices in Dubai Might Be Lower Than You Think! Senior citizen duped of Rs 98,000 in online scam

Udupi: A senior citizen allegedly lost Rs 98,000 in an online scam. In a complaint, SS Nayak, 71, claimed that he had uploaded information about renting out his house on the OLX app and the 99Acres app. On July 30, at around 7.30pm, an unknown person called him, claiming to be an Army officer. He said he was transferred to the Udupi district and was looking to rent a house. The caller told the complainant that his senior officer would transfer the advance rent amount to his account. During a conference call, another person posing as an Army officer spoke and sent an online form via WhatsApp. As the complainant began filling out the form, he was asked to deposit Rs 5 into his account to verify the process. After doing so, he received a message confirming the Rs 5 credit. The fraudster then convinced him that by continuing to fill out similar online forms, he would receive Rs 48,000 and Rs 50,000 in his account. As the complainant proceeded to fill in the forms, the caller asked for his internet banking user ID and password. When the complainant refused to share the details, the call was disconnected. The next morning, at around 7.30am, when the complainant checked his internet banking account, he discovered that Rs 98,000 had been fraudulently withdrawn. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Photos Captured the Exact Wrong Moment Read More Undo He complained.
