Man charged after 5-week investigation into THC vapes sold to school children
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 19-year-old man faces felony charges after a five-week investigation into the sale of THC vapes to minors, according to the Bullhead City (Arizona) Police Department.
Matthew Felix Swaim was taken into custody during a traffic stop near Oliver Drive and Patillo Drive in Bullhead City. On Wednesday night, officers served a search warrant at Swaim's residence in the 400 block of Santa Maria Road, where items 'consistent with the sales and distribution of THC vapes' were seized, according to police.
Police said they also found a handgun and counterfeit money at the residence.
Bullhead City's Community Oriented Policing Section (COPS) initiated an investigation in January after reports that someone was selling vapes to school children. The COPS team identified Swaim as a suspect with the assistance of narcotics detectives and school officials.
The THC vapes were recently seized at a junior high school and high schools in the area. THC is the active ingredient in marijuana.
Swaim was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, where he faces charges described as 'drug offenses involving minors, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of wire communication or electronic communication for drug transactions, forgery, and misconduct involving weapons,' according to information released by police.
Bullhead City is a community of about 43,000 people on the Arizona side of the Colorado River, about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas.

Tougher penalties for copper wire theft passed by Nevada legislature
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — It was a unanimous vote by the Nevada Legislature to pass Assembly Bill 503, which would increase penalties for copper wire theft. District E, County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, is a big proponent of the bill. Segerblom is taking steps to stop these thieves and get the lights turned back on for valley residents. 'I'm just so proud of the legislature for stepping up and hopefully the Governor signs it,' Segerblom said. He, along with others, implemented a Copper Wire Task Force last year to be more on top of the issue, and since then, he said he has seen improvements. 'We get daily complaints, but there have been less. I'm not sure if it's because we are more proactive, but we've started putting wire back in with aluminum and we also have solar lights which are good,' Segerblom said. Those caught with less than $500 worth of copper could face a misdemeanor, and anything above that would be considered a felony with up to four years in prison. Over at Broadway Pizza off Rancho and Charleston, Co-owner Mario Perdichizzi said this bill hits close to home. His business was targeted last year after copper wire thieves ripped through his A/C unit. He said it is about time something was done. 'It feels great because they should pay the penalty for stealing it and there also needs to be a penalty for stolen goods,' Perdichizzi said 'We put a camera up on the roof and we want to put a cage over the unit itself. We put lights by the unit and one in the back alley, too.' The next step is for Governor Lombardo to sign this bill into law. Once that is done, the new penalties will go into effect on October 1. Clark County's public works department estimates that nearly 1 million feet of streetlight wiring have been stolen since 2022. In Clark County, sellers must provide documentation that verifies that the wire was not stolen. Mass. man sentenced to prison for trafficking counterfeit Adderall containing methamphetamine
BOSTON (WWLP) – A Lowell man was sentenced to prison last Wednesday for possession and distribution of counterfeit Adderall pills containing methamphetamine. Charging documents stated that 39-year-old Brian Gingras of Lowell was a drug supplier involved in the Asian Boyz Gang distribution network. Investigators found that between May 2022 and September 2022, Gingras delivered over 5,000 counterfeit Adderall pills to ABZ gang member Bill Phim. Mass. man arrested following deadly crash in November During this time, Phim reportedly then sold the counterfeit pills to an undercover federal agent for over $18,000. The pills were discovered through chemical testing to contain a dangerously high level of methamphetamine and caffeine. For his role in the conspiracy, Phim was sentenced in May 2025 to ten years in prison. Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Gingras' home, where they found hundreds more counterfeit Adderall pills, counterfeit Xanax pills, and a pill press. Officers also found a storage unit containing a loaded firearm, over 30 kilograms of counterfeit Adderall pills containing only caffeine, bags of marijuana, and boxes of THC extract and edible products. In January 2025, Gingras pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and to Possess with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine, and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine. Gingras was sentenced on June 4 to nine years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release.
