Chief minister's 'Awami Agenda' reviewed

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, chaired an important meeting at Chief Minister Secretariat to review progress on the implementation of the Chief Minister's 99-point Awami Agenda.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Muhammad Abid Majeed, and other relevant officials attended the meeting. Concerned officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress so far made with regard to implementation of 99 point agenda.
It was informed that under the Chief Minister's open-door policy, all Deputy Commissioners have issued schedules for public meetings to ensure easy access of the general public to government offices and officials, and so far 429 Khulli Kachehris have been held across the province, including 27 for women, 17 for minority communities, 14 for farmers, 18 for differently-abled persons, and 11 for traders which were attended by the high ups of district administrations and heads of line departments.
It was further informed that under special cleanliness campaign, 431 drives have been carried out in educational institutions, 843 public toilets, 590 canals, 1,066 roads, 287 recreational spots, and 298 bus stations have been cleaned across the province, adding that under the waste disposal efforts, garbage dumped on 7,267 vacant plots has been cleaned so far, 1,195 blocked drains have been opened, and 1,509 drains have been cleared, 439 sewerage lines have been cleaned, and 101 sewerage lines have been repaired.
Officials informed the meeting that actions against illegal dumping sites have resulted in the clearance of 368 sites, while 226 designated dumping sites have been notified for waste disposal, and added that to facilitate the public, 4,359 trash bins have been installed at various points across the province.
It was revealed that in terms of improving recreational facilities, 114 public parks have access to clean drinking water, and benches have been installed in 169 parks. Similarly, measures to enhance sports facilities have resulted in the provision of restrooms in 42 sports grounds and the reactivation of lights in 72 grounds.
Moreover, over 4,000 advertisements boards and banners have been removed from poles, and 4,500 pieces of advertising material have been taken down from walls.
As part of the water tank cleaning initiative, 11,697 water tanks have been cleaned, it was revealed, adding that construction material has been removed from 3,500 road sides and streets.
To improve passenger facilities, 108 bus terminals have been inspected, resulting in the cleaning of 497 restrooms and 100 waiting rooms whereas, official fare lists have been placed at 93 bus terminals.
The meeting was also informed that 78 per cent of public washrooms in the province have been cleaned, over 300 trash bins have been placed at 95 tourist spots.

The 37th meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Wednesday, focused extensively on relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected areas, approving billions in aid and supplementary grants to support victims, restore infrastructure, and accelerate recovery work. The meeting began with prayers for the martyrs of the recent floods, followed by a comprehensive briefing on human and material losses. Officials informed the cabinet that the first phase of rescue operations had been completed while the search for missing persons continued. Chief Minister Gandapur praised the district administration, Rescue 1122, and other departments for their timely and courageous efforts, noting that their commitment in saving lives deserved the highest appreciation. He reassured affected families that compensation payments were underway and pledged that "no victim will be left behind." The Chief Minister directed immediate restoration of health facilities in disaster-hit areas, ensuring availability of essential medicines, mobile hospitals, and preventive measures against epidemics. He also ordered urgent rehabilitation of water supply schemes, tube wells, and damaged road connectivity. Special attention was directed toward providing fodder and veterinary care for livestock. Highlighting the government's long-term response, Gandapur said data was being compiled on property losses to provide new homes for those who lost shelter, as well as compensation for livestock and businesses. He announced the establishment of a dedicated account for public donations, ensuring complete transparency in distribution. He further revealed that, in addition to Rs3 billion already allocated, another Rs2 billion had been released for relief and rehabilitation. Additional Chief Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs, Abid Majid, updated the cabinet on rescue operations, damage assessments, and ongoing assistance. He shared district-wise data collection in Bajaur, Dir, Buner, Batagram, Mansehra, Swabi, Shangla, and Abbottabad, covering casualties, missing persons, damaged houses, crops, and cattle. He also reported 65 per cent restoration of cellular coverage in affected areas, with full connectivity expected soon. To address urgent requirements, the Cabinet approved a supplementary grant of Rs20 billion for near-completion projects, alongside intra-sectoral fund reallocations for efficient financial management. It also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs2 million for each deceased and Rs0.5 million for each injured, while releasing Rs1 billion to PDMA to launch a "Food Stamp" program, granting Rs15,000 to each affected family. Other key approvals included Rs180 million for K-P Police families of Shuhada and injured personnel, a compensation package for five martyred helicopter crew members, and Rs62.3 million for organizing Seerat Conferences across the province during Rabiul Awal. Additionally, the Cabinet approved transfer of land for a Rescue 1122 station in Bajaur, sanction of Rs1.38 billion for Kumbar Bypass Road in Lower Dir, and medical assistance of Rs20 million for former MPA Shaukat Yousafzai.

PESHAWAR: Under the PDMA Civilian Victims Compensation Regulations 2019, the provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved a special compensation of Rs10 million for each deceased person and Rs2.5 million for each injured person, to be given to the legal heirs and the injured from the Tirah, Khyber incident. The cabinet also approved the establishment of a Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) camp in the Bajaur Sports Complex and also sanctioned immediate funds for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). According to details, the 36th meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. Cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, and Administrative Secretaries attended the meeting. Among the key decisions, the cabinet approved the creation of 36 new posts of field assistant in BPS-9 for the Directorate General Agriculture Extension, a move aimed at strengthening agricultural support services across the province. Cabinet gave its consent for the purchase of land for the Institute of Management Sciences (IM Sciences), a step that will facilitate the expansion and growth of the institution. It also approved creation of new posts in the Directorate of Works & Implementation of the Sports & Youth Affairs Department; appointment as Independent Members of Provincial Public Safety Commission, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a period of four years. To enhance tourism infrastructure, a significant increase was approved for the ADP scheme for the 'construction of access roads to tourist areas in Hazara Division.' The project's cost has been revised from Rs3,500 million to Rs4,278.276 million. The Cabinet green lit the hiring of necessary staff for the Directorate of Anti-Corruption Establishment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Market Based Salary (MBS) Policy 2025. This measure is designed to bolster the directorate's capacity to combat corruption effectively. It also granted approval for the notification of Lower Tanawal Beer Valley as a Community Managed Game Reserve, which will help protect local wildlife and promote sustainable management practices. PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a 99-point good governance agenda to improve public service delivery system and bring significant improvements at grassroots level. The implementation of the agenda will be monitored independently through third-party evaluation. In this connection, a conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all districts was held with Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair. It reviewed progress on the provincial government's Good Governance Roadmap, focusing on nine key sectors: health, education, agriculture, livestock, tourism, social welfare, local government, administration, and security. Specific targets were set for deputy commissioners in seven priority areas, with a completion deadline of December 2025. In the health sector, the goal is to ensure 100 percent availability of medicines, equipment, and medical staff at all primary health centers. Education targets include ensuring 100 percent attendance of teachers and students, as well as providing all missing facilities in government schools. Addressing the participants, Gandapur emphasised the crucial role of deputy commissioners in executing the government's vision at the grassroots-level. He directed DCs to improve implementation of the public agenda, hold regular 'Khuli Kacharies' with elected representatives to strengthen public engagement, and utilize social media effectively to gather citizen feedback. He further instructed deputy commissioners to give equal priority to development projects alongside routine administrative work, maintaining high quality standards without compromise and avoiding unnecessary delays. All development projects across departments should be regularly reviewed at the district level, he directed. He also announced that the provincial government will soon launch a rural sanitation Programme, under which sanitation staff will be hired at the village council level.
