Chelsea ‘hold talks for Jorrel Hato but must stump up extra £20million to meet Ajax's transfer demands for centre-back'
The Blues are willing to pay around £40million for the versatile Dutchman, 19, claim talkSPORT.

But that is some way off the Eredivisie club's £60m valuation, with Hato under contract until 2028.
Hato's ability to play both centre-back or left-back makes him appealing to Chelsea, who are flush with cash after winning the Club World Cup.
However the teenager has said he feels "at home" in Amsterdam.
Liverpool have also been linked with Hato, with former captain Jordan Henderson - who played alongside him at Ajax - calling him a "fantastic player".
Last year Hato won the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year in Holland, after playing 50 games for his club.
He also has six international caps.
Hato represented his country this summer at the Euro U21s, where Holland were knocked out in the semi-finals by eventual winners England.
He was only 16 when he made his debut for Ajax, and was the youngest player to hit 100 games at just 18 years old.
He has also worn the captain's armband, becoming the club's youngest captain ever at 17 years and 250 days.
Chelsea see Hato as cover for Marc Cucurella.
Cole Palmer and Chelsea celebrate in style as they arrive back at their hotel after Club World Cup victory
The Spaniard has become a key part of Enzo Maresca's side but risks burning out by playing every game.
Renato Veiga had been brought in last summer to deputise for Cucurella.
But the Portugal international demanded an exit for first-team football in January and spent the second half of the season on loan at Juventus.
Veiga thought he was then going to be reinstated in the squad for the Club World Cup.
But he was left out of the victorious group, sparking serious doubts over his Stamford Bridge future.

£12m Chelsea star agrees to transfer after just one Premier League start
A Chelsea star reportedly wants to leave the club after just one year and one Premier League start at Stamford Bridge. After spending over £210million on seven new signings, Chelsea's priority for the rest of the summer transfer window is to offload their large number of unwanted players. The list mainly includes members of last summer's 'bomb-squad' who failed to secure permanent exits like Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell. But the Blues are also not afraid to sell off players who haven't been at the club long like Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic. And it seems like another young star will cut short his career in west London, with reports claiming that Renato Veiga has said yes to a transfer to Atletico Madrid. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. The Standard say the two clubs are in talks over a deal for the Portugal international whom Chelsea value at upwards of £35m, while there is also interest from Juventus and Bayern Munich. Chelsea bought Veiga from Basel in June last year for £12m, with the highly-rated 21-year-old signing a contract until 2031. Capable of playing left-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, he made 18 appearances under Enzo Maresca, most of which in the Conference League and the domestic cups. More Trending Just one of his seven Premier League appearances game from the start, in the 1-0 away win at Bournemouth in September. Due to the lack of minutes, Veiga was loaned out to Juventus in January and instantly became a first-team regular for the Serie A giants, before ending the season as a Nations League winner with Portugal. Despite his impressive potential, Chelsea decided to part ways with the youngster, leaving him out of their Club World Cup squad. Atletico are keen on signing him after ending their pursuit of Tottenham's World Cup winning centre-back Cristian Romero. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Shot-happy Antoine Semenyo not to be underestimated despite tricky first fixture
DREAM TEAM managers should know about Antoine Semenyo by now but too many remain ignorant. The Bournemouth midfielder was among the most underutilised players in the game last season and, while it's early days, his ownership ahead of the 2025/26 campaign is a modest 2.5% at present. 3 In fairness, Semenyo's low ownership may be because the Cherries are due to face defending champions Liverpool at Anfield in Gameweek 1. Needless to say, this difficult fixture is a valid reason to stay clear of the 25-year-old from the get-go but our latest SCOUT REPORT seeks to convince Dream Team bosses of his credentials in a broader sense. After all, Gameweek 1 is just the start. Semenyo racked up 262 points last season at an impressive average of 6.2 per game. However, the most interesting stat about the Ghana international regards shots on target. In 2024/25, only three midfielders registered more shots on target than Semenyo's tally of 46: Cole Palmer (57), Alejandro Garnacho (53), Bruno Fernandes (50). It's worth noting that those three players had additional European fixtures to bolster their schedule. 3 In the Premier League, only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Palmer let fly with more shots than Semenyo. This is all to reinforce what every Bournemouth supporter already knows; their No24 is not shy when an opportunity presents itself. There are many avenues to points in the world of Dream Team these days but it's truer than ever that gaffers need to stack their XI with plenty of firepower if they are to be competitive. Semenyo's shot-happy nature means he's an asset worthy of due consideration when the fixtures align for Andoni Iraola's side. 3 Bournemouth's unenviable trip to Anfield represents a tough opening but they follow that up with a home game against Wolves plus a Carabao Cup fixture (opponent TBC) in Gameweek 2. Might Semenyo be a smart selection for the first double Gameweek of the season? He finished last season with 13 goals and nine assists to his name - only seven players in his position found the net more often in all competitions.
