Travis Kelce has broken his silence on Taylor Swift buying back the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums.
During the most recent episode of his New Heights podcast—which he cohosts with his brother, Jason Kelce—the Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised his girlfriend's announcement.
Newsweek reached out to Travis Kelce's representative via email for comment.
The Context
Swift, 35, has been rerecording her early albums since 2021 after her former record label, Big Machine Records sold the recordings to private equity group Ithaca Holdings, an entity owned by music manager Scooter Braun. Currently, she's rerecorded Fearless, Red, Speak Now and 1989, with "Taylor's Version" attached to the end of the titles. Reputation and her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift, have yet to be rerecorded.
On Friday, Swift announced her ownership of the master recordings after months of social media silence.
"You belong with me," she captioned several photos of herself on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram surrounded by her albums. The caption referred to her hit song "You Belong With Me," which was featured on Fearless.
At the time of publication, her post racked up more than 9.2 million likes—including from Travis Kelce, 35. However, he hadn't spoken out about the news until this week.

What To Know
On Tuesday, New Heights shared a teaser clip of Wednesday's episode to TikTok, Instagram and X.
In the now viral video, the show revealed former National Basketball Association (NBA) star Shaquille O'Neal as this week's guest, and he played one of Swift's tunes following his introduction.
"Our guest today is a 7'1'' center from Louisiana State University," Jason Kelce began. "He's a 15-time NBA all-star, four-time NBA champion, three-time finals MVP, a league MVP, Olympic gold medalist and an NBA Hall of Famer. You know him as The Big Shamrock, The Big Aristotle, The Superman, Shaqtus, The Diesel, we got him, simply Shaq."
"A.K.A. the Black Kelce brother," O'Neal replied following the intro.
Later on in the podcast, the 53-year-old told the brothers he had to show them something, before pulling up Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." O'Neal and Travis Kelce lip-synced the song as Jason Kelce danced.
"That's my favorite song in the world, brother," O'Neal said. "I love it."
"Shout out to Tay-Tay," Travis Kelce—who has been dating Swift since 2023—said. "Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back, so it's finally hers too, man, I appreciate that, dog."
"I love you guys," O'Neal said, to which Travis Kelce replied, "Love you, big dog."
At the time of publication, the TikTok video racked up 1.5 million views, the Instagram post had 798,000 views, and the X clip racked up over 653,400 views

Beckham Drama? Inside Rumors That Brooklyn and Nicola Are Feuding With the Family
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, are reportedly feuding with the rest of the Beckham family. Tensions have risen so high that Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from family patriarch David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations. Life & Style breaks down all the clues that have fueled the Beckham family drama rumors. Romeo Beckham began dating girlfriend Kim Turnbull in late 2024, despite her being Brooklyn's reported ex-girlfriend. The relationship caused a rift within the family after Brooklyn reportedly had an issue with Romeo dating Kim. On April 3, 2025, a source told TMZ that although Brooklyn didn't have lingering romantic feelings toward Kim, he didn't trust that her intentions with Romeo were pure. 'There's no ill will toward Romeo himself, Brooklyn just doesn't approve of Kim dating him,' according to the outlet. David's wife, Victoria Beckham, and kids Romeo, Cruz Beckham and Harper Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday early in March 2025. Romeo shared a group photo via Instagram of the evening on March 31, 2025, featuring Kim and Cruz's girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, in the snapshot. Romeo added fuel to the feud fire when he re-shared the photo on his Instagram Stories along with the message, 'Family is everything. Love you all.' The following month, Romeo and Cruz ignited rumors that there was a family feud when they seemingly mocked Nicola's Instagram comment to Romeo's ex-girlfriend, Mia Regan. 'So beautiful Mia,' the Transformers actress wrote under Mia's April 5, 2025, Instagram photo alongside a pink heart and sparkle emoji. Two days later, Romeo shared solo and couple photos with Kim, leading Cruz to comment, 'So beautiful Romeo,' with the same emojis that Nicola used on Mia's post. Reps for Cruz and Romeo did not immediately respond to Life & Style's request for comment. On May 3, 2025, David was showered with love at his official birthday party in London with his family, minus Brooklyn and Nicola, and fellow A-list friends. Romeo shared more photos of David's ongoing lavish birthday celebrations the following day, including family moments without Brooklyn. As fan theories about the family feud spewed online, a source told People that there were 'tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family," but the bad blood was 'definitely not beyond repair.' 'They love and are always there for him. They're just hurt and disappointed that he's now playing no part in family life,' the insider told the outlet. Meanwhile, a separate source told Us Weekly that Brooklyn and Nicola ask for 'special treatment,' and Victoria and David are 'over it.' So much, that the professional athlete and former Spice Girl reportedly declined their eldest son and daughter-in-law's invitation to celebrate David's birthday with him – privately. 'David and Victoria just want to treat everyone the same and approach life like a family and the family does things a certain way,' the source explained. 'But Brooklyn isn't playing it like that, and everything is a drama.' The source added, 'They just tell the whole family there's a party, 'Here's the time, here's the date.' It's not that complicated. Everyone else seems OK with it.' Chatter that Nicola didn't mesh well with Brooklyn's family started in 2022, after they got married earlier that year. That August, Nicola addressed the rumors with Variety and shared that the gossip stemmed from her decision not to wear a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding dress, and instead wore a gown by Valentino. 'I was going to, and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it,' Nicola told the publication. 'That's where it started, and then they ran with that.'

How Tyrese Haliburton and Pacers stay calm, cool and connected in the clutch
OKLAHOMA CITY — How many more times do Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers need to show us who they are for us to believe them? On Thursday night, Haliburton and the Pacers looked to be out of it. Again. Like they were in overtime in Game 5 against Milwaukee, down seven with 40 seconds left in overtime. Like they were in Game 2 against the Cavaliers in Cleveland when they were down seven with 48 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. And again, in Game 1 against the New York Knicks, when they were down 17 with a little more than six minutes to go before their epic comeback became 'The Miracle at MSG.' And now, again, in the NBA Finals, they trailed early, got within striking distance multiple times, then surrendered a run to the Oklahoma City Thunder each time. But the cardiac kids from Indiana had another fourth-quarter comeback in the tank. Haliburton hit a pull-up 2-point jumper to win it with less than a second on the clock. It was the fourth time in the playoffs that Haliburton hit a game-winning or game-tying shot. And it was the Pacers' fifth come-from-behind victory from a deficit of 15 or more points in this year's playoffs. Advertisement Before the shot, it was a quiet night for Haliburton, who finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. But when it mattered, he made his presence known. The Pacers trailed by nine with 2 minutes, 52 seconds to go before closing the game on a 12-2 run. 'I think we're just a really resilient group,' Haliburton said. 'We do just a great job of sticking in and just settling into the game. Through the course of the game … it felt like it could get ugly. Who knows where this game is heading? I thought we did a great job of just walking them down. 'When it gets to 15, you can panic or you can talk about how do we get it to 10 and how do we get it to five and from there.' But it wasn't just Haliburton. Sure, his Pacers teammates have said they go as he goes, but as usual, it took the team as a whole to get the job done. Haliburton is the one who leads. The goal is to get the ball in his hands for the final possession. 'We got it to eight pretty fast and that gave us confidence. We kept getting stops. Myles (Turner) and Andrew (Nembhard) made play after big play down the stretch,' Haliburton said. 'Myles got a wide-open look on the wing and missed that one, but we stuck with it. Andrew was huge down the stretch. We got a big stop there and had a lot of confidence in me to make that shot. 'I don't know what you say about it. I know that this group is a resilient group, and we don't give up until it's 0.0 on the clock.' Indiana's balanced depth puts teams on their heels in a matter of minutes, and Haliburton finishes them off. 'Ultimate, ultimate confidence in himself,' Turner said about Haliburton. 'Some players will say they have it, but there are other players that show it. He's going to let you know about it, too. That's one of the things I respect about him. He's a baller, a hooper, and really just a gamer. Advertisement 'When it comes to the moments, he wants the ball. He wants to be the one to hit that shot. He doesn't shy away from the moment and (it is very) important this time of the year to have a go-to guy. He just keeps finding a way, and we keep putting the ball in the right positions. The rest is history.' Eastern Conference finals MVP Pascal Siakam was the first to score in double figures and led all Indiana scorers with 19 points. By the end of the game, the Pacers had six players in double figures, including all five starters. Nembhard, who was critical on defense and was the primary ball handler late, added 14 points. Obi Toppin hit five 3s that helped swing the game and finished with 17 points. 'That's been our thing the whole year, even at the beginning of the playoffs,' Toppin said. 'Everybody got the other team winning every single game. We just go out there and always do what we do,' Indiana had 18 more turnovers than OKC and 16 fewer field-goal attempts and still managed to win. They've shown a level of competitiveness and composure throughout this year's playoffs that should be synonymous with their identity at this point. 'We stay connected,' Nembhard said. 'We're going to play until the whistle blows. It didn't feel like we were down 20. I don't know what the deficit was, but it felt like we were just right there. 'Stuff that's done in the past is behind us at this point. We had 19 (turnovers) in the first half. Couldn't get much worse than that.' FINAL SECONDS? GAME ON THE LINE? That's Tyrese Haliburton's music 🎶 Tyrese has done it in EVERY. SINGLE. ROUND. — NBA (@NBA) June 6, 2025 That Pacers connection starts off the court. In the locker room before games, each player is involved in their pregame ritual, yet it still feels as if their rituals overlap and affect one another. Before Thursday's game, Haliburton sat in front of his locker bobbing his head as a song by Central Cee blared on the Pacers' Bluetooth speaker. With their first NBA Finals appearance looming, everyone appeared exactly the way they always do — calm yet focused. The way they are on the court. This latest historic comeback is just who they are. In their incredible comebacks against the Bucks, Cavs, Knicks and Thunder, the Pacers were all but done, with their opponents having better than a 96 percent chance to win those respective games. But when the clock hit 0:00.0, the Pacers were the ones left standing (sometimes on a scorer's table). Advertisement 'This group never gives up,' Haliburton said. 'We never believe that the game is over until it hits zero, and that's just the God's honest truth. 'That's just the confidence that we have as a group, and I think that's a big reason why this is going on.'
