Dana White announces major UFC protocol change which stunned fans after landing $7.7billion TV rights deal

DANA WHITE has confirmed a major change to UFC protocol following the promotion's last pay-per-view event. Mixed martial arts' premier promotion held its eighth PPV event, UFC 319, this past weekend. 6 6 6 6 Carlos Prates and Brit Lerone Murphy stole the show with their consecutive spinning back elbow knockouts of Geoff Neal and Aaron Pico respectively. Both men, unsurprisingly, received £37,000 ($50,000) bonuses for their viral knockouts. But what surprised MMA fans is that UFC commentator Joe Rogan told both men inside the octagon that they'd received a bonus. UFC protocol for the last few decades has been to inform fighters of their bonuses after the event has finished. And White has revealed that informing fighters of their bonus-winning finishes inside the cage will be a "new thing" going forward. He said: "Those two fights were like, yeah, holy s**t. "And I knew nothing before had beat it and if anything else else was crazier than those, I'd have paid the money. "I'd have just said, 'Alright.' When s**t like that happens again, yes, that will be a new thing that will happen moving forward. 6 'I mean, if those fights were the second fights on the entire night, I would have said the same thing. 'Somebody would had to been decapitated to [beat that], you know what I mean? "I don't know what would have been bigger than what happened in those fights.' UFC 319 was the promotion's first PPV event since the announcement of their whopping £ 5.7BILLION ($7.7B) North American broadcast deal with Paramount. From January 2026, all 43 of the promotion's yearly cards - including numbered events - will be available on the network's streaming platform, Paramount+. The deal has seen the UFC abandon the PPV model for the first time in its near 32-year history. When s**t like that happens again, yes, that will be a new thing that will happen moving forward." Dana White on the UFC's new bonus protocol 6 Upon the announcement of the seven-year-long agreement, White said: "This historic deal with Paramount and CBS is incredible for UFC fans and our athletes. "For the first time ever, fans in the US will have access to all UFC content without a Pay-Per-View Model, making it more affordable to view the greatest fights on a massive platform. "This deal puts the UFC among the biggest sports in the world. "The exposure provided by the Paramount and CBS networks under this new structure is a huge win for our athletes and anyone who watches and loves this sport."

Michelle Williams, 44, quietly welcomes fourth child via surrogate and reveals sex of baby

Michelle Williams has welcomed her fourth child which was the first that was born via surrogate. This is the third baby the 44-year-old multi-time Oscar nominated actress shares with husband Thomas Kail, 48. She made the revelation during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday with guest host Tiffany Haddish. The 45-year-old comedienne - who recently became a parent herself - complemented Michelle over her post baby figure. The former Dawson's Creek star praised her surrogate while also seemingly hinting at the sex of her new child. She replied: 'Then I've got to give a big shout out to Christine, cuz this last baby did not come through my body. 'But the miracle of our little girl is thanks to Christine. Maybe you're watching out there; thank you, Christine. Michelle has a 19-year-old daughter named Matilda whom she welcomed with ex and late Oscar-winning actor Heath Ledger. She shares two other children with theatre director and television producer Kail including four-year-old son Hart and a second child born sometime in 2022 whose name has yet to be revealed. Michelle gave another shoutout to her surrogate as she said: 'Thanks to Christine, I have three under 5 at home.'

David Schwimmer looks somber as 'Ketamine Queen' drug dealer pleads guilty to supplying Matthew Perry's fatal dose

looked downcast as he attended the opening night for Broadway show Take A Banana For The Ride in NYC on Tuesday. The actor, 58, made his red carpet appearance as his former co-star Matthew Perry's 'Ketamine Queen' drug dealer took a plea deal for supplying the star's fatal dose. Jasveen Sangha made a guilty plea deal in connection with the October 2023 drug overdose death of Matthew at 54. A source close to the case exclusively told The Daily Mail that prior to the deal Sangha was initially facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. Under the plea agreement, that mandatory minimum has been lifted, allowing Sangha to potentially receive a sentence of less than 10 years. David and Matthew worked together for ten years on hit sitcom Friends. Matthew was found dead face down in his jacuzzi on October 29, 2023, leaving Hollywood shaken to its core after he bravely shared details of his addiction struggles with the public to dissuade others from following a similar path. Months later, a medical examiner determined that the actor - who had battled substance abuse issues throughout his life - had died of the 'acute effects of ketamine.' Legal analyst and federal criminal defense attorney Lou Shapiro told the Daily Mail he wasn't surprised Sangha decided to take the plea deal, especially since her co-defendants had done so earlier. The attorney said: 'When you look at the overwhelming evidence against her and what they found at her place alone - the drugs, the manufacturing equipment and the money - and tons of it, she was basically toast. 'There was nowhere for her to go. It wasn't if she was going to take the deal, it was a matter of just when.' Shapiro added: 'Even if you don't intentionally try to harm somebody or cause them great bodily injury or death, the mere fact that you are engaging in a conduct that is very likely going to result in death, you're going to be held accountable for it.' Shapiro argued that any arguments presented would have quickly crumbled under legal scrutiny and added: 'You can't look the other way and say, "I was just selling it. I was doing him a favor," That is not going to fly. 'This also sends a big message to the medical industry that doctors will be held fully accountable for death to bodily injury that results in their patients when they are merely prescribing drugs. 'These doctors knew what was going on and they fully participated in supplying Matthew Perry with as much ketamine as he wanted.' Shapiro cited court records in which the doctors themselves marveled at the extent of Perry's addiction and lengths he was willing to go to in his quest to get his next fix. He said: 'They even called him an 'idiot' at one point in their text messages,' Shapiro said. 'I think the medical community also will look at this as a tragedy for the loss of life but also, they are people who worked hard to become medical professionals. 'Instead, these doctors threw all of that away for greed.'
