Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design, Price, Specs And More Compared

Vivo X Fold 5 has launched in India priced at Rs 1,49,999 and it takes on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 model introduced earlier this month. Vivo X Fold 5 has made its debut in the Indian market this week, going up against the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 model. Both these brands are bringing their latest foldables to the region, as OnePlus decides against launching the Open 2 model in 2025 altogether. Vivo showed its credentials with the X Fold 3 Pro version last year, and gave us more reasons to believe that a Fold doesn't have to make compromises to become the complete product. Samsung's new flagship Fold 7 is also in the mix and looking to continue its growth and leadership in this segment. Here's a detailed comparison which tells you more about the Vivo X Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 price, design and more. Vivo X Fold 5 is priced in India at Rs 1,49,999 for the single 16GB + 512GB variant. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 price in India starts at Rs 1,74,999 for the base 256GB model, going up to Rs 1,86,999 for the 512GB and Rs 2,16,999 if you want the 16GB + 1TB variant. Vivo X Fold 5 will be available starting July 30, while Samsung brings the Fold 7 earlier to the market from July 25, with pre-bookings now open. Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Display The X Fold 5 comes with a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display that supports 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and gets Armor glass protection. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 6.5-inch LTPO AMOLED 2x display on the cover with Corning Gorilla Ceramic 2 durability while the inner screen gets an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO panel with 2600 nits of peak brightness. Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Performance And UI Vivo is using last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB RAM to power the X Fold 5. You get it with Android 15-based Funtouch OS that is promised to get 4 OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates. Samsung's new foldable goes for this year's Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with 12GB or 16GB RAM and available in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage models. More importantly, Samsung is the first brand to launch its new product with the latest Android 16 version out of the box, and promises 7 years of OS and security updates for the new device. Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Cameras Vivo is offering a triple rear camera system that has 50MP wide primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The front of the foldable has a 20MP wide and a 20MP sensor in the cover. Samsung opts for its latest 200MP sensor with OIS as a part of a triple camera system that also has a 10MP telephoto lens with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens. The front of the screen has a 10MP wide and 10MP sensor on the cover. Vivo's new fold is light, thin but does not take a hit in the battery department as it carries a large 6,000mAh unit that supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging speeds. Samsung's Fold 7 is lighter, and thinner than the X Fold 5 but you get a 4,400mAh battery with 25W charging supported, and no adapter in the box. Meta contractors review private AI chats, sometimes seeing user names and photos: Report

According to a report by Business Insider, contract workers hired to train Meta's AI systems have reviewed thousands of real user chats, and in many cases, those conversations included names, email addresses, phone numbers, selfies, and even explicit images. Four contractors told the publication that they were regularly exposed to personal information while working on Meta AI projects. These individuals were reportedly hired through platforms called Outlier (owned by Scale AI) and Alignerr. The projects they worked on aimed to improve the quality and personalisation of Meta's AI responses, a process that involves reviewing real interactions between users and AI-powered said they often came across highly personal conversations, ranging from therapy-like sessions and rants about life, to flirty or romantic exchanges. Some users reportedly sent selfies or explicit images to the chatbot, believing the conversation to be seen by Business Insider reportedly showed that in some cases, Meta itself provided background user data, like names, locations, or hobbies, to help the AI personalise responses. In other cases, users voluntarily gave up this information during conversations, despite Meta's privacy policy warning users not to share personal details with the chatbot. One particularly concerning example described in the report involved a sexually explicit conversation with enough personal information for the reporter to locate a matching Facebook profile within which owns platforms like Facebook and Instagram, acknowledged that it does review user interactions with its AI. A spokesperson told Business Insider that it has "strict policies" governing who can access personal data and that contractors are instructed on how to handle any information they may come across. 'While we work with contractors to help improve training data quality, we intentionally limit what personal information they see,' the spokesperson reportedly contractors said projects run by Meta exposed more unredacted personal data than those of other tech companies. One project called Omni, run by Alignerr, aimed to boost engagement on Meta's AI Studio. Another project called PQPE, operated via Outlier, encouraged AI responses to reflect user interests pulled from past conversations or social isn't the first time Meta has come under scrutiny for its data practices. The company's history includes the 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal and multiple reports over the years about contractors listening in on voice recordings without proper safeguards. While reviewing AI conversations with human help is common in the tech industry, Meta's track record has raised added concern. - EndsTrending Reel
