Google Pixel Watch 4 size, processor and battery capacity leaked ahead of August launch
The next Pixel event from Google is just around the corner, and while the Pixel 10 phones have already seen a good number of leaks, the Pixel Watch 4 has managed to stay relatively under the radar, at least until now. A new report by the Android Authority has revealed key details about the upcoming smartwatch, including its size variants, battery capacities and the chipset it's expected to run on. While fans were hoping for a big performance jump, the reality may not match expectations. That said, the Pixel Watch 4 still seems like a thoughtful upgrade in a few important is likely to offer the Pixel Watch 4 in two sizes this year — 41mm and 45mm — just like last year's Pixel Watch 3. Internally, the watches are codenamed 'meridian' (41mm) and 'kenari' (45mm), a fun change from the mythology-inspired names used for previous generations. This time, Google has gone with Star Wars-themed names, which is a nice little touch. Both sizes are expected to come in LTE and Wi-Fi-only you were hoping for a faster processor, though, you might be slightly let down. According to the report, the Pixel Watch 4 will stick with the same Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip used in the Pixel Watch 2 and Watch 3. This will mark the third year Google has used the same chipset. While it might sound underwhelming on paper, the W5 Gen 1 has proven to be reliable and power-efficient in real-world usage, and Google has clearly learned how to get the most out of it. The reason for this choice seems to come down to timing. Qualcomm is currently working on a new 'sw6100' wearable chip, but it's not expected to be ready in time for the Pixel Watch 4 launch. Switching to Samsung's Exynos chips is also unlikely, especially as Google is rumoured to be developing its own custom chip for future Pixel Watches starting next upgrade that will be welcome, however, is in the battery department. The 41mm Pixel Watch 4 will reportedly have a 327mAh battery, which is about 7 per cent larger than the 307mAh battery on the current model. The bigger 45mm model will get an even better bump, from 420mAh to 459mAh, roughly a 9 per cent increase. While exact charging speeds haven't been confirmed, faster charging is also is widely expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 4 alongside the Pixel 10 series at its next hardware event on August 20. While we're still waiting for official confirmation and pricing details, this early leak gives us a good idea of what to expect.- Ends

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 vs Honor Magic V5: Is the 0.1mm Thickness Hype Worth It?
Building a foldable phone will be all about boasting on having the thinnest or the lightest in the world. But does little bit of change in thickness or weight make difference in our day to day lives? It is not always that easy as a recent comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and the Honor Magic V5 has shown. Technically, the Honor Magic V5 with its Ivory White variant is basically 8.8mm when closed. In the meantime, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is a little thicker 8.9mm. So Honor is the winner, isn t he? Not quite. Popular Chinese tipster Ice Universe put the two phones next to each other and, in fact, the Fold7 appeared slimmer. What is the surprize? It happens that the Honor Magic V5 has a ready-masked screen saver, not included in the official thickness. This implies that you will find a thicker version of it when you buy it as compared to the one that has been stated on the spec sheet. Samsung does not rely on such extras. This minor variance points out the fact that even a minute thickness of 0.1mm (or even 1g of weight) can barely be distinguished in practical applications. Therefore, even though brands can sell their foldables as the thinnest in history, it is all about show-off. As a matter of fact, a good majority of the contemporary foldables are relatively thin and light to be conveniently held and used. Next time you want to pick a foldable, I say, don not focus on thinness. Consider what is important to you- such as: screen quality, battery life, camera performance or software features. Anyway, the difference of 0.1mm is not going to affect your experience day-to-day.
