Rickea Jackson: 2024 WNBA Draft Class With Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Can Be Best Ever
Rickea Jackson: 2024 WNBA Draft Class With Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Can Be Best Ever originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Los Angeles Sparks rising star Rickea Jackson, who was drafted to the WNBA in 2024 along with the likes of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink and Kamilla Cardoso, knows very well what her class is capable of. Clark is already the biggest needle-mover the game has ever seen, with the WNBA seeing record-breaking numbers in viewership, stadium attendance, and merchandise sales because of the Indiana Fever star. The former Iowa Hawkeyes guard has also backed up her popularity with her game, getting selected as an All-Star in her first two years. Reese, for her part, continues to make history as well. More recently, she became the only WNBA player to record multiple streaks of 10 or more double-doubles. Like Clark, she has also been selected for the All-Star Game twice. On the other hand, Jackson, Brink and Cardoso are also on the path to superstardom. Other players drafted in 2024, such as Aaliyah Edwards, Kate Martin, Jacy Sheldon and Nika Muhl, also continue to prove they can be key contributors for their respective teams. With that being said, Jackson has seen enough from their short time so far in the WNBA to confidently say that their class can be the best the league has ever seen. Rickea Jackson's Confident Take on 2024 WNBA Draft Class Featuring Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese In an exclusive interview with Athlon Sports, where she discussed her partnership with snack brand Cheez-It, Jackson also shared her thoughts about the 2024 WNBA Draft class. The 24-year-old forward acknowledged that there are plenty of expectations on their draft class, especially after the incredible first season that she and her peers put up in 2024. That being said, she got honest and pointed out that they are still growing and learning as players. "I feel like as fans, we know that you want us to do great. You want us to be efficient every night, but that's not realistic as the defense has figured us out a little bit more or we're in our second years and we're still trying to figure it out. We're at the top of scouts," Jackson explained. " I feel like you can't just expect us to be these 10-year vets right now. But again, I feel like we've been handling it with grace. I feel like we've been still going out there every night playing our butts off." Despite that, Jackson expressed her belief that they have the "chance to do something really special" as they continue to make a "lot of noise on and off the court." When further asked if she believes they can be the best draft class in the WNBA ever, Jackson responded with, "I feel like we definitely have the chance to be that." "I'm just excited to see what we continue to do," she added. "I feel like it was a very fun class, but I definitely believe that we do have the potential to be one of the best draft classes." It remains to be seen if Jackson's statement will prove true. However, considering that some of the biggest names in the WNBA are from their class, the group certainly has a case as the players further establish story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 29, 2025, where it first appeared.

Notre Dame football's recruiting team sent out official offers today, and they are epic
While Notre Dame football has pretty much completed its 2026 recruiting class, the commitments had yet to get their official offers until today. Multiple future Irish players went to social media to share the intricate official offers, as they all look like a gold record. There are pictures on the outside flaps of their official visits, the gold record in the middle, an official letter written to them by head coach Marcus Freeman and more. The Notre Dame recruiting staff has once again done a great job with the presentation of these, as they are making it a special event when you are part of the class. There will surely be more of these kind of offers in the future, but these will be hard to top. 'Thank You DeWanna Bonner': Fever Fans Sound Off After Big Win
'Thank You DeWanna Bonner': Fever Fans Sound Off After Big Win originally appeared on Athlon Sports. DeWanna Bonner's first visit to Gainbridge Fieldhouse since she was waived by the Indiana Fever (15-12) ended in an emphatic 107-101 defeat for the Phoenix Mercury (16-10). McDonald Outshines Bonner in Her Return Six-time All-Star Bonner returned quietly. She finished with just four points and one rebound in 21 minutes off the bench. The Fever, playing without injured Caitlin Clark for the 14th time this WNBA season, were led by guard Aari McDonald, who dropped in a season-high 27 points. Center Aliyah Boston joined in the fun with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Mercury All-Star Alyssa Thomas had a game-high 32 points. Bonner's Exit Allowed the Fever to Sign Aari McDonald Watching McDonald steal the show on Bonner's return was especially cathartic for the 17,274 Fever fans in attendance and many more on social media. Bonner was waived by the Fever on June 25 after playing just nine games. She confirmed in a statement that she requested to leave the team, citing her feeling that 'the fit did not work out.' After shedding her $200,000 contract, the Fever decided to bring in the dynamic McDonald — who had played well in three games as a temporary signing earlier in the season — instead of signing another forward. Fever Fans Say Thanks to DeWanna Bonner "Thank you DeWanna Bonner for making way for Aari McDonald," a fan said after the win on X. "Your contributions will not be forgotten." The sarcastic tone pervaded social media as "gratitude" poured in for Bonner. "Thank you Dewanna Bonner," said another X user who posted her stats. "Dewanna Bonner thank you," added a fan. "You made right decision to leave so we can get Aari McDonald." "Thank you Bonner for letting us get Aari," said one ruthless fan, who could not wait to see Bonner leave. "You and (Alyssa Thomas) go on and get going to the airport." Though most of the "thank you" posts were laced with irony, the prevailing narrative from all parties is that Bonner leaving the Fever worked out best for everyone. Since reuniting with the Mercury, Bonner has averaged 11.5 points (against 7.1 with the Fever) and 5.0 rebounds per game (vs. 3.8 with Indiana) in six contests.
