Mahesh Babu says hes 'humbled and grateful' as Srimanthudu, Maharshi, and Major win at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 31 (ANI): Actor Mahesh Babu has expressed his happiness after his films Srimanthudu, Maharshi, and Major were honoured at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards. These films, which were either led by or produced by the actor, received recognition for their impact on audiences and cinema.
Mahesh Babu took to his Instagram Story to share his feelings, stating that he felt "humbled and grateful" to see the films being celebrated. The actor also thanked the Telangana government for creating the platform and gave credit to the teams behind the movies.

Srimanthudu, released in 2015, features Mahesh Babu as Harsha Vardhan, a wealthy man who adopts a village and works for its development.
Maharshi, released in 2019, stars Mahesh Babu as Rishi, a rich businessman who returns to India and fights for the rights of farmers. The movie, directed by Vamsi Paidipally, was a commercial success and was praised for highlighting rural issues.
Major, on the other hand, which hit theatres in 2022, was produced by the actor. It is a biographical film based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and starred Adivi Sesh.
The Telangana government on Thursday announced the Gaddar Film Awards. Nivetha Thomas was chosen as the best leading actress for '35 Chinna Katha Kadu,' Allu Arjun as the best leading actor for 'Pushpa-2,' and 'Kalki 2898 AD' as the best feature film.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mahesh is currently preparing for his upcoming film, SSMB29, directed by SS Rajamouli and co-starring Priyanka Chopra. The film is expected to be a high-budget action adventure spanning multiple countries. (ANI)

Ever since actor Kamal Haasan remarked that Kannada was born out of Tamil while promoting his upcoming film Thug Life in Karnataka, he has caused a huge uproar in the state. Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who also attended the promotional event, denies clapping when Kamal made this statement, even as a pro-Kannada outfit threatens theatres not to release Thug Life in the state. I've said this before, I can give my life for Kannada. I should not tell that (Kamal Haasan must apologise). He is a senior actor, and I am the biggest fan of him.' He then clarified that many seem to be under the misconception that he showed support for Kamal's remark at the event by clapping when he said it. Shiva agrees he did clap, but it was for a different statement. He said, 'At the event, I did not understand what was going on. But they're showing clippings as if I'm clapping for that. I was clapping because he told, he was my chithappa (uncle).' According to ANI, a pro-Kannada organisation, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, warned the owners of Victory Cinema Theatre in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, not to release Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has also banned the film's release in Karnataka, asking the actor to apologise for his remarks. Praveen Shetty, who belongs to the organisation, told the news agency, 'Kamal Haasan has spoken against the Kannada language. We will not allow Kamal Haasan's film to be released in Karnataka. They said that the film will be released at the Victory Cinema. We came here today and told the theatre owners not to release Kamal Haasan's film. If the film is released, the government will be held responsible for any untoward incidents that follow.' Thug Life, which also stars Silambarasan TR and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles, is directed by Mani Ratnam. According to Sacnilk, Mani's previous film, Ponniyin Selvan—Part 1, earned ₹28.12 crore in Karnataka, while Part 2 made ₹22.55 crore in the state. After Tamil Nadu, Karnataka was the highest-earning state for both films. Kamal's Indian 2 made ₹8.55 crore there. The actor, however, has refused to apologise for his comment, telling the media, 'It is a democracy. I believe in law and justice. My love for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala is true. Nobody will suspect it except for those who have an agenda. I've been threatened earlier too, and if I am wrong, I would apologise, if I'm not, I won't.'

In a recent interview with ComicBook as quoted by Variety, Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the first three franchise-spawning 'Star Wars' films, discussed his future in the immortal sci-fi universe. While he started his journey with 'A New Hope' in 1977 alongside Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, Hamill has no interest in continuing the saga. Pro-Kannada organisation warns theatre owners on Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life' release in Bengaluru amid Kannada language row
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 1 (ANI): A pro-Kannada organisation, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, attempted to lay siege to the theatre in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, to restrict the release of Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life' on Sunday. Praveen Shetty of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike warned the owners of Victory Cinema Theatre in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, not to release Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life', alleging that the actor has made inappropriate remarks about the Kannada language. The move by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike came after actor reportedly stated that 'Kannada is born out of Tamil' during a promotional event in Chennai. This led to several protests by the pro-Kannada organisations and the ban by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) over the release of the movie 'Thug Life'. While speaking with ANI, Praveen Shetty said, 'Kamal Haasan has spoken against the Kannada language. We will not allow Kamal Haasan's film to be released in Karnataka. They said that the film will be released at the Victory Cinema. In this context, we came here today and told the theatre owners not to release Kamal Haasan's film. The KFCC representative said that Kamal Haasan has not yet issued an apology for hurting the sentiments of the Kannada people during his promotional event in Chennai. He said, 'When there is pressure, I have to do. Even Karnataka Rakshana Vedike were present; whatever they say, we should do it. Even they would speak about it. Definitely, there is no 'Sorry' term being specified anywhere by Kamal Hassan. We will surely not release the film. We (KFCC) will stand with Rakshina Vedike and other Kannada organisations.'
