Devotees perform Giri Pradakshina at Durga temple on Guru Purnima
Temple Executive Officer (EO) V.K. Seena Naik, along with his family, offered special prayers and ceremonially broke a coconut to commence the event.
Devotees, chanting hymns in praise of Goddess Durga, offered coconuts to Goddess Kamadhenu Kanaka Durga at the temple's toll gate and began their 7-km trek around the hill.
The Giri Pradikshina route covered Kummaripalem Centre, Nalugu Satambala Centre, Vidyadharapuram, Sitara Junction, Milk Project, Chitti Nagar, and Brahmin Street before returning to Indrakeeladri. Thousands participated in the spiritual procession, offering prayers to Goddess Kanaka Durga and Lord Malleswara Swamy.
The temple town was filled with festive fervour as pilgrims walked with devotion. The programme was designed by the temple authorities and the Vedic Committee, inspired by the Tiruvannamalai Girivalam tradition. 'Circumambulating Indrakeeladri on a full moon day is believed to fulfill wishes, as celestial deities are said to dwell here on this auspicious day,' EO Seena Naik said.
The procession was enriched with devotional music, thappeta and kolatam folk dances, bhajans, and Vedic chants, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.

Bisalpur dam gates opened after water levels reach capacity
Bhilwara/Jaipur: Water levels in the Bisalpur Dam , a major source of drinking water for Jaipur, Ajmer and Tonk, crossed 315.5 meters for the first time this year, prompting the administration to open the dam's sluice gate no 10 at 4.55 pm Thursday to release 6,000 cusecs of excess water. This is only the first time since Bisalpur dam was built over two decades also that the flood gates have been opened in July. Bisalpur getting filled to capacity is expected to fulfil drinking water needs of Tonk, Ajmer and Jaipur districts for at least 18 months. Spl CS worships Veerabhadra Swamy
Lepakshi: Special Chief Secretary for Tourism and Culture Ajay Jain accompanied by Sri Sathya Sai District Collector T S Chetan, visited the revered Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Lepakshi. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by temple priests amid chanting of Vedic hymns. During the visit, Ajay Jain and Collector Chetan performed special prayers and participated in a ceremonial Archana. The priests offered them Teertha Prasadam, Vedic blessings and mementoes to mark the occasion. A temple guide explained the historical and architectural significance of the ancient shrine. Tehsildar Soujanya Lakshmi, tourism manager Pratap Reddy and other officials were also present during the visit.
