Kota Kinabalu: Keadilan Women Sabah has welcomed the latest Merdeka Centre survey indicating a 55 per cent approval rating for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, calling it a reflection of increasing public trust in his leadership. Datin Rufinah Pengeran, national Deputy Chief of Keadilan Women and Chief of the Sabah chapter, said the positive rating underscores public support for the Prime Minister's emphasis on transparency, integrity, and institutional reform. 'His commitment to political stability and prioritizing the welfare of the people has strengthened confidence across communities nationwide,' she said in a statement. Rufinah described the survey results as a strong endorsement of the Unity Government's reform agenda, noting that it motivates Keadilan Women Sabah to continue pushing for social justice, women's empowerment, and equitable development throughout the country, including in Sabah. Ukraine lost its third F-16 fighter jet since the start of the war while repelling the attack, the military said. The sounds of explosions were heard in Lviv, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions, regional governors said. The Ukrainian military said some 500 different types of aerial weapons were used during the attack, including drones, ballistic and cruise missiles. "To repel the massive attack, all available means of the defence forces that can operate on enemy air assets were deployed," the military said. The pilot of the Ukrainian F-16 jet did everything he could and flew the jet away from a settlement but did not have time to eject, the Ukrainian Air Force said. "The pilot used all of his onboard weapons and shot down seven air targets. While shooting down the last one, his aircraft was damaged and began to lose altitude," the Air Force said on the Telegram messenger. The military said Russia had launched 477 drones and 60 missiles of various types to Ukraine overnight while Ukrainian forces destroyed 211 drones and 38 missiles. It said 225 drones were lost - in reference to the Ukrainian military using electronic warfare to redirect them - or they were drone simulators that did not carry warheads. It said air strikes were recorded in six locations. INFRASTRUCTURE, HOMES Six people, including one child, were injured in the central Cherkasy region, the governor Ihor Taburets said on the Telegram messenger. Three multi-storey buildings and a college were damaged in the attack, he said. Industrial facilities were hit in the southern Ukrainian Mykolaiv and central Dnipropetrovsk regions, officials say. Local authorities published photos of multi-storey houses with charred walls and broken windows and rescuers evacuating residents. The governor of the Lviv region in the west of the country said the attack targeted critical infrastructure. However, he did not report on the aftermath. Kampung Iban Merotai land approval not election gimmick

Speaking at the Gawai Day celebration in the village yesterday, the Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah President stressed that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government, led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, had delivered on a 50-year wait within just three months. 'This isn't an empty promise. After 50 years, the villagers finally received legal land approval. This is a legacy they can pass on for generations,' Liew said. He urged villagers to support the government in the coming polls and dismissed claims that the land approval was an election ploy. 'The land now belongs to the people of Kampung Iban, permanently. PBS honours 13 loyal members in Kota Belud

The members, identified by the local committee, received certificates and T-shirts presented by PBS Kadamaian Chief Demis Rumanti. Among them were Michael Tinggiu, Cowboy Mialah, and Raisah Latip. PBS Deputy Chief for Kadamaian, Walter Kandayon, said the recognition was to honour members who remained steadfast through political turbulence. 'They are the party's most valuable asset. Loyal, unwavering, and not motivated by rewards,' he said, noting loyalty as a foundation of PBS's strength since 1985. Michael Tinggiu said they remained loyal because PBS is multiracial and consistently defends Sabah's rights. 'We stayed even after PBS fell in 1994 due to betrayal by some assemblymen,' he said.
