Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner threatened to skip award show over Nikki Glaser joke

Daily Mail25-04-2025

Timothée Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner apparently considered skipping Nikki Glaser's Golden Globes monologue in order to dodge her jokes.
During her hosting gig in January, the 40-year-old comedian poked fun of Chalamet's, 29, portrayal of Bob Dylan in the movie A Complete Unknown.
Glaser said the pair almost skipped the monologue after she alerted Chalamet's publicist about his inclusion in her opening remarks, adding that she understood because Jenner is already 'the subject of so many jokes.'
'That got back to him, and he was just going to skip my monologue and get there late, just so he didn't have to deal with it,' she said at the Time100 Summit, per The Hollywood Reporter.
'I get it, because he's there with his girlfriend who is already the subject of so many jokes. He shouldn't have to sit there if I'm going to make fun of something about him — it's like his night. So, I don't begrudge him doing that,' she added.
During her opener, Glaser poked fun of the actor's mustache and his voice work in the film.

'Timothée Chalamet, you have the most gorgeous eyelashes — on your upper lip. That is such a good look,' Nikki joked during her speech, as the actor and his girlfriend, 27, listened.
'You were so good and in A Complete Unknown as Bob Dylan. I read that your singing voice was so accurate that even Bob Dylan admitted that it was absolutely horrible.'
Glaser also mentioned reaching out to Chalamet's publicist beforehand to give a heads-up about the impending joke, though she didn't disclose the specific wording.
'I love Timothée! I'm not telling you the jokes, but I promise the jokes are only uplifting him and saying, "I'm a huge fan." I would never do anything to ruin his night,' she said.
The funnywoman believes her 'reputation of being mean' comes from her jokes at The Roast of Tom Brady.
However, she defended her Golden Globes monologue, stating she 'wasn't sorry about anything I said at the Globes because I didn't say anything that was calling anyone ugly or fat.'
Glaser is set to return as next year's host for the 2026 Golden Globes.
Meanwhile, Timothée recently looked glum as he watched the Knicks-Pistons NBA playoffs in NYC, after packing on the PDA with Kylie at Coachella, where she was spotted 'smothering' him.
While standing in the crowd and waiting for the show to start, the reality TV star was seen affectionately kissing her boyfriend's cheek over and over amid their PDA-filled weekend.
The star - who has reportedly taken to 'mothering' the actor - appeared to be standing in front of the actor at Charli XCX's set when she turned around to smooch her boyfriend of two years repeatedly.

The Kardashians star put on a very affectionate display with Timothee just hours before she left him to take her daughter Stormi, seven, to watch her ex Travis Scott's late night performance at Weekend One of the star-studded festival.
In addition to Stormi, the exes also share three-year-old son Aire from their previous relationship.
After Kylie went to watch her baby daddy's show, a source noted that she and Timothee are 'very serious,' according to People.
Throughout the weekend, the pair appeared very loved-up in multiple fan sightings.
In fan-taken footage, the couple couldn't keep their hands off of each other as they were seen hugging and making out when they weren't walking around hand-in-hand.
The insider also told the outlet that the pair went through an 'intense' period of their relationship earlier this year but are committed to 'making it work.'
The beauty mogul was even seen supporting her boyfriend at various shows during the awards season this year.
'With the awards season and premieres, earlier this year was intense for their relationship,' the source told the outlet. 'But they are making it work.'
The insider added that Kylie is 'truly his biggest fan.'
'She would clear her schedule to attend awards and premieres with him. She couldn't be more supportive of his career.'

Even though the pair both have busy schedules, the source said they make time for each other and Timothee also hangs out with her children.
'When they are in LA together, he spends time with her kids too,' the insider said before adding that Jenner's family is fond of her current boyfriend.
'Her family loves that she's dating him,' the source claimed.
'They have seen such positive changes in Kylie. She's the happiest.'
The Kylie Cosmetics founder was first romantically linked to the actor in April 2023.
The pair keep their relationship relatively private but later confirmed they were dating by showing off PDA at a Beyoncé concert in September 2023.

Kristen Bell reveals the one thing ‘Nobody Wants This' fans say to her

Kristen Bell says there's one thing that fans always tell her about her hit Netflix show 'Nobody Wants This.' While speaking about the series with NBC News correspondent Jacob Soboroff in a joint interview her co-star Adam Brody, Bell revealed the common thing people tell her when they talk about her rom-com. 'This has happened to me, I'm going to say — and I don't think I'm exaggerating — six times where I've had different women in my life... like a girl in my choir class was like, 'Oh, I'm going to start watching your show. I haven't seen it yet. My dad told me to watch it,'' she said exclusively to Soboroff, who laughed. 'I'm not joking. Everybody's dad has seen this show and is telling them to watch it, like a bunch of my friends,' she added. Brody agreed. 'Yeah, parents and grandparents,' he said. 'Dads love it!' Bell added. Brody and Bell star in 'Nobody Wants This' and play a devout rabbi and an agnostic sex podcaster, respectively, who fall in love in the most unconventional way. The series premiered on Netflix in September 2024 and then it was renewed for another season in October of that same year. Season 2 is now set to premiere this October. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bell talked about the impact that 'Nobody Wants This' has had on fans and she said she's glad that the show became a hit. 'I've never gotten a response to any show I've ever been a part of like this show,' she said. 'It's been thrilling to hear how many people have enjoyed it,' Bell continued. 'That's kind of my main goal with any type of performance.' 'Ultimately, I just want people to have a nice escapism while watching something I've been in, and I feel like this has provided that for so many people,' she added.

Psychological thriller hailed as a 'masterpiece' now available to stream for free on BBC iPlayer

This film with an all-star cast is now available to stream for free on BBC iPlayer - and it's not one to miss with fans branding it as a 'masterpiece' Released in 2021, The Power of the Dog is a haunting and slow-burning psychological thriller set in Montana in the 1920s. Directed by Jane Campion and based on Thomas Savage's 1967 novel of the same name, the film features a star-studded cast including Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunset and Kodi Smit-Mcphee. The film follows Phil and George Burbank, wealthy ranching brothers played by Cumberbatch and Plemons, whose lives are disturbed when they meet a widow, Rose (Dunst) and her son (Smit-McPhee) during a cattle drive. ‌ While George forms a romantic relationship with Rose, eventually marrying her, Phil's hostility towards her intensifies, creating a tense and awkward atmosphere when she and her son move into the Burbank ranch house. ‌ As Phil taunts Rose, he surprisingly begins to take Peter under his wing. But what seems like an innocent gesture of goodwill seems to unravel more complex motivations on Phil's end, leaving Rose extremely uneasy. The story is full of tension, drama and uneasiness making it a must watch for movie lovers. For those who haven't watched the award-winning hit, or just want to rewatch the film, it is now available to stream for free on BBC iPlayer, as well as being available on Netflix to watch now. The Power of the Dog was an instant hit following its premiere at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, as well as being nominated for 12 Oscars and seven Golden Globes. ‌ It has been hailed as the best film of 2021 by the American Film Institute and it currently holds a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. One viewer reviewed the film on Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 4.5 out of 5 stars, writing: "When you don't know nothing about it and you are slowly surprised is nice! But captivating and mysterious. It will leave you wondering long after the credits roll." Critics have also reviewed the film, with the New York Times stating: "The Power of the Dog builds tremendous force, gaining its momentum through the harmonious discord of its performances, the nervous rhythms of Jonny Greenwood's score and the grandeur of its visuals." And USA Today called The Power of the Dog a "picturesque, enthralling exploration of male ego and toxic masculinity, crafted by an extremely talented woman and offering enough nuanced bite to keep it interesting till the very end." The Power of the Dog is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer for free, as well as Netflix.
