The home side set the tone early on by testing Boca's keeper Agustin Marchesin with a Tomas Molina header, and they kept up the pressure throughout the first half with attempts from Emiliano Viveros and Federico Fattori that kept Marchesin busy.
After the break, Boca Juniors came close to opening the scoring when Miguel Merentiel unleashed a shot from the left side of the box, but Argentinos Juniors' goalkeeper Diego Rodriguez thwarted him.
Both sides shared a point from their opening clash, with Boca left to rue what was expected to be a statement performance following their disappointing Club World Cup exit in the group stage last month.

In Japan, we were chasing Germany, chasing Spain, chasing other countries (ways of doing things)," said Ogura. "But chasing always means you're behind and not going (in front)." Ultimately, Ogura leaves with a positivity about the future of Singapore football. He recalled how the team held firm in their last game, a tricky away tie to Bangladesh and did not capitulate as they might have in the past. "I was very proud of our players. Our players had their own identity and kept the confidence," he said. After rewatching the match, Ogura recalled how the players were constantly communicating with one another, all the way to the final whistle.

Al Hilal withdraw from the Saudi Super Cup
Al Hilal are to skip the 2025-26 Saudi Super Cup, set for next month, amid their hectic schedule. Al Hilal finished the recent Saudi Pro League season second behind champions Al-Ittihad in late May, having been knocked out of the King's Cup quarter-finals and AFC Champions League elite semis. The Riyadh-based club then headed to the United States, where they kicked off their Club World Cup campaign on June 18 against giants Real Madrid. They made it to the knockout stages, where they stunned Manchester City in the last 16 before losing to Fluminense in the quarter-finals on July 4. The Saudi Super Cup is to be held between August 19-23 in Hong Kong, with the league campaign usually getting underway in late August. Their CWC campaign and following flight complications "reduced the players' annual leave to only 24 days in the event of withdrawal, and to 21 days if the club participated in the Super Cup," with the rules granting them "a minimum of 28 days of annual leave," the club said in a statement. Al Hilal were forced to postpone their pre-season preparations, "which further increased the competitive imbalance among participating clubs," the statement ran citing a letter sent to the local soccer federation. The Saudi federation (SAFF) said, in response, they "will begin taking the necessary measures in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations through the relevant committees," without providing more details.

England get boost ahead of Euro semi as captain Williamson trains
ZURICH :England captain Leah Williamson trained with the team on Monday in a big boost to the squad ahead of their Euro 2025 semi-final against Italy on Tuesday.
