Motorcyclist killed in highway crash with SUV in Abbotsford, B.C.
The crash happened in the early morning in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 near Townshipline Road.
Police say the crash involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Jeep Compass SUV.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, while the SUV driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The northbound lanes of the highway between Old Clayburn and Harris roads were closed but slated to reopen later in the morning.
Investigators believe speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.

Two arrested after shooting in downtown Toronto: police
Toronto police have arrested two men in connection with a weekend shooting downtown. Motorcyclist killed after losing control in Mauricie, Que.
A motorcyclist in her 60s was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of her motorcycle in a construction zone in Notre-Dame-de-Montauban, in Quebec's Mauricie region. The accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Rousseau Road, also known as Route 367, near Thomas-Lavoie Road, said Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). According to initial reports, the motorcyclist, who was riding with two other motorcycles, was thrown from her vehicle after losing control on a section of the road that was covered in gravel due to repairs. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead. Another motorcycle carrying two people also lost control. They suffered minor injuries.
