
Man (40s) dies after workplace accident in Co Clare
It is understood that the man - in his 40s - was fatally injured after falling from a height while carrying out repairs to a property in the town of Ennistymon.

A spokeswoman for the Gardai confirmed: 'Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal work-related incident that occurred in Ennistymon, Co. Clare on Thursday 24th July 2025 at approximately 10 am."
She said: 'A male in his 40s suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The scene remains preserved for technical examination."
She added: 'The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) was notified and is investigating the matter.'
The popular local man has raised thousands of euros for charities and community groups over the years.
A local man said today that the deceased 'was a hard working family man dedicated to his wife and his kids. He was a model person".
The local man said that the work-related death 'has caused upset and shock in Ennistymon and we've had a very hard couple of months following other deaths in the area. There is a lot of anguish here right now.'
Only last weekend, Ennistymon GAA ahead of their first Senior Championship match this Summer retired their No 15 jersey in tribute to the late Eanna Rouine (20) who died in May.

Man pulled from water in Co Donegal dies in hospital
A man who was pulled from the water in Co Donegal has died in hospital, gardai said. Emergency services were called to Bundoran after they were alerted to a man in the water at around 5.20 pm on Saturday. Woman (60s) rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Donegal crash
A woman in her 60s is being treated for what gardaí called "life-threatening injuries" after a two-car collision in Co Donegal on Friday evening. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the road traffic collision on the N13 Letterkenny to Ballybofey road in the townland of Listillion, at approximately 5.05pm. Advertisement The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman aged in her 60s, is being treated for life-threatening injuries at Letterkenny University Hospital. No other injuries were reported. The road remained closed overnight for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. Anyone who was on the N13 at Listillion between 4.50pm and 5.15pm and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating gardaí. Static speed camera to be operational in Crumlin from August 1st
A static safety camera will be operational in Dolphin's Barn, Crumlin, Dublin 12, from Friday, August 1st Vehicles detected driving in excess of the posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution from 12 midday on Friday.
