DM inspects ropeway project sites, RO/ARO exam centres in Kashi
During the inspection, the DM sought details of the remaining works at these points and instructed officials concerned to ensure that the project is completed on time.
Currently, the project works are hindered due to damages caused in Ghodanala at Godowlia while erecting the last tower of the ropeway urban transport project.
With completion of repairs to the damaged portion of Ghodanala, the works at the last tower and the last station at Godowlia will be intensified.
Meanwhile, the DM inspected centres of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination-2023 at Harishchandra Intermediate College, Maidagin, and neighbouring areas. The exam is scheduled for Sunday. The DM conducted a thorough check of CCTV cameras, the control room, lighting arrangements, drinking water, toilets, seating arrangements, etc at the examination centres. During the inspection, he gave clear instruction that any kind of negligence in the examination will not be tolerated.

Video sparks outrage: Gujarat man pesters feasting lion in show of bravado, arrested; court denies him bail
AHMEDABAD/RAJKOT: In a thoughtless act of perceived daredevilry, a man from a village in Bhavnagar's Talaja got dangerously close to and pestered a lion enjoying its kill in the Shetrunji Wildlife Division, sparking widespread outrage from nature lovers and general public alike. The act was caught on video after which the man, identified as Gautam Shiyal, was tracked down and arrested by forest officials. Charged under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, he was presented before a Talaja court, which denied him bail. The clip, reportedly filmed in the vicinity of Bambhor and Talli villages, shows people gathered to watch the lion, and Shiyal venturing too close and disturbing it. As Shiyal approaches closer, the distracted and now-cautious lion is seen getting up and walking towards him. People are also heard trying to distract the lion and prevent an attack on Shiyal. As Shiyal retreats, the lion pauses a few moments before returning to its kill. As the video went viral, wildlife conservationists condemned the act.
