Paris Hilton to Produce True-Crime Podcast Series "My Friend Daisy"
Daisy De La O, a 19-year-old woman from Compton, was killed in 2021, and her murderer was caught all thanks to the TikTok community .
This story will be explored in a new, limited true-crime podcast, "My Friend Daisy," which comes from Paris Hilton.
It marks Hilton's first move into the popular genre, having launched her 11:11 Media banner, which she launched in 2021 with Bruce Gersh.
The ten-part series comes from iHeartPodcasts and London Audio, the audio division of 11:11.
Hosted and written by journalist Jenn Swann, "My Friend Daisy" launched on March 26.
It will tell the story of De La O's murder outside her Compton apartment. When authorities had yet to make an arrest, Daisy's friends and family took matters into their own hands, turning to social media to raise awareness. Their efforts ultimately ignited an international manhunt, rallying amateur detectives to do something radical: help catch a killer.
The series will explore the investigation and its fallout, exposing what went wrong, how it went viral, and why communities are increasingly turning to social media to find justice.
"My Friend Daisy" is produced by Hilton, Gersh, Bruce Robertson and Joanna Studebaker for London Audio, Jonathan Hirsh from Sony Music Entertainment, and Danielle Romo and Amy Sugarman for iHeartPodcasts as well as Swann.
It is Hilton's latest podcast, having released series including "I Am Paris," "Trapped In Treatment," and "The History of the World's Greatest Nightclubs."

'I'm always looking for ways to shine a light on important stories, and when I first read Daisy De La O's story by Jenn Swann on The Cut, I was heartbroken by what she endured—but also deeply moved by the way her community came together using digital activism to demand justice. Partnering with iHeart and Jenn, who already knows Daisy's story, was important to me, because together we can reach even more people, raise awareness and continue to stand against domestic violence,' said Hilton. 'Women's voices too often go unheard, and I remain committed to advocating for a world where every woman's story matters.'
'After I came across the TikToks about Daisy, I couldn't stop thinking about them. I immediately wanted to know more about who she was, how her community had rallied around her, and what had compelled them to take justice into their own hands,' said Swann. 'At a time when social media platforms like TikTok have come under fire, this story shows how the app has, in some cases, become a lifeline for friends and families of crime victims — for better or worse. Making this podcast gave me an incredible opportunity to examine this phenomenon from all angles, chronicling Daisy's personal story and the people directly impacted by it.'

Teachers Turn to Temu for Gen Z Back to School Fun - Middle East Business News and Information
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Back to school in 2025 isn't what it used to be, and neither are the students. Raised on smartphones, memes, and TikTok trends, Gen Z steps into the classroom with a world of instant gratification and endless scrolling at their fingertips. For teachers, the challenge is how to capture the attention of students after a summer of viral videos and keep them hooked on learning from day one? The answer may be simpler than expected. Teachers are finding new ways to connect through feedback, moving beyond simple letter grades to personalized messages, drawings, and meme stickers to better connect with students and enhance learning through speaking their language. Mariela, a modern TikToker teacher, is always looking for new ways to involve her students and consistently shares her best practices on her TikTok account. On her TikTok account, Mariela shows how she uses fun stickers from Temu to actively engage them in the learning process. 'I think students need to see the grading process as something positive and natural. It should be fun, not a way to punish them for not having studied enough. Moreover, they need to understand that I'm here to help them learn, not just to grade them, but to encourage them to give their best,' she says. Surprise your digital-native students in class to keep learning alive: Nowadays, the learning process must be adapted to the students' needs and preferences in order to be truly successful. ' I found that featuring memes students already use in their everyday conversations is the perfect way to surprise them. They are not used to associating humor with learning, which is something I love, ' she says. ' Transforming the grading process into something unusual, something unexpected, is crucial to keeping the learning flame alive, ' she adds. ' Moreover, I am impressed by the large number of stickers in each package and the variety in designs, which is very convenient for me as I teach different groups, ' she claims regarding her purchase. She has noticed the positive impact that changing the rules about grading has had in her classroom. ' Using this meme sticker I found on the Temu platform, I build a stronger connection with my students, turning the learning experience into something fun and unexpected. My students feel understood and motivated, viewing the classroom as a space where they can truly be themselves ,' she concludes. ' With the incredible impact funny stickers have had on my students, I now feel I have the key to transforming grading into something exciting, even for myself, as I enjoy selecting the perfect sticker for each student, ' she says. Educational games as a learning tool: Using educational games as a classroom tool has also proven to be successful in keeping students engaged in the learning process and Temu fun stickers is one way to implement this approach. ' Students can collect these stickers and create a grading album to track their progress, motivating them to continue learning. Teachers can also award fun stickers during class activities, encouraging students to participate actively in order to earn the ones they need ,' she explains. Zahira Fernández demonstrates how she uses a portable printer to create the most amazing and funny stickers to decorate all the materials she uses for studying. Students and teachers can have fun while at school, using modern resources to stay motivated during the learning process. Dory, another teacher, also finds using fun stickers like the ones she found on Temu incredibly convenient for creating a comfortable atmosphere in her third-grade classroom. By embracing creativity and platforms like Temu to source engaging materials, teachers are transforming classrooms where learning thrives through connection. Sometimes the smallest innovations make the biggest difference in a student's journey.
