Inaugural Broome music festival ‘Untamed' postponed until 2026
In its place, a scaled-back but high-energy version of the event, Untamed Uncut
,
will run on the same September weekend at the Roebuck Bay Hotel, featuring a hand-picked lineup of artists from the original bill.
'While we share the ticket holders' and community's disappointment that the full-scale festival is postponed to 2026, unexpected delays meant we needed to make a quick decision in the best interest of our attendees and partners,' organisers said.
The boutique event will deliver 'the spirit, scale and pulse' of the main festival in a more intimate setting, with headline acts including Spiderbait, Ash Grunwald, Pierce Brothers, Abbe May, Legs Electric, Jaime Jacket Reinvented, Havana Brown and Tigerlily.
Billed as one of the biggest live music events in Broome's history and the largest in the Roey's 130 years, Untamed Uncut will run over three nights from September 19 to September 21.
Organisers said the decision to scale back this year's plans will help ensure the 2026 event meets their 'big and bold ambitions' for the festival.
'We sincerely thank everyone for their support, confidence and ongoing belief in what Untamed stands for — delivering epic music, cultural connection and unforgettable live experiences,' they said.
All current ticket holders have been notified of the changes.
Updated program details, ticketing information and FAQs will be posted in the coming days at

Khayelitsha couple returns to court for Lolitha Kowa's murder
Odwa Jack and girlfriend Nokuthula Matyesini are expected to return to court for the murder and rape of seven-year-old Lolitha Kowa. Image: Supplied The couple accused of raping and killing seven-year-old Lolitha Kowa are expected back in court on Wednesday morning. Odwa Jack and Nokuthula Matyeseni have been in custody since July 23, the day the child's body was discovered with a screwdriver lodged in her head in another part of Kuyasa, Khayelitsha. Lolitha was last seen the day before, when she told her mother she was going to play with a friend, Matyeseni's daughter. Her family only saw her again when an image of her lifeless body circulated on a community WhatsApp group, leaving the Khayelitsha community in shock. Video Player is loading. During their last court appearance on August 8, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila confirmed that a charge of kidnapping had also been added. 'They now face kidnapping, rape, and murder — the evidence we have at our disposal points to the two of them. We have overwhelming evidence, and that is the reason we believe they have a case to answer,' Ntabazalila said. Jack and Matyeseni are expected to apply for bail, but only if the address they provide to the court is verified. Their home was previously set alight by community members, prompting the State to argue that they are a flight risk and that bail should be opposed. Initially, the accused offered an alternative address, but the State deemed it unsuitable.

Superbalist's 40% off Nike cap ad deemed misleading by ARB after consumer complaint
The Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB) has found troubling discrepancies in a Facebook advertisement that claimed a product was available at a generous 40% off, a claim that was later disproven when the consumer attempted to purchase the item. In an era where consumers increasingly turn to social media for shopping, a recent complaint has unearthed significant concerns regarding the transparency and integrity of promotional advertisements. The Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB) has found troubling discrepancies in a Facebook advertisement that claimed a product was available at a generous 40% off, a claim that was later disproven when the consumer attempted to purchase the item. The item, a Nike cap, was advertised at 40 percent off on Superbalist. The advert was on Facebook. The complainant expressed her frustration after clicking on a link that purportedly led to a discounted product. Upon reaching the advertiser's website, she was confronted with the reality that the product was not being offered at a discounted rate. When she reached out to the advertiser for clarification, her inquiry was met with what she described as a vague response.
