Delivery Boy Sets Himself On Fire At Manager's Home In Jaisalmer Over Mobile Phone Dispute
In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, ex-Flipkart delivery boy Prakash Mali attempted self-immolation after a payment dispute with manager Hitesh Prajapat.
In a shocking late-night incident that stunned Rajasthan's Jaisalmer city, a young delivery boy working for an e-commerce giant attempted self-immolation following a heated confrontation with his former manager over a disputed payment.
The incident unfolded around 9 PM on Tuesday, April 22, in Achalvanshi Colony, where Prakash Mali, a former delivery executive for Flipkart, arrived at the home of his manager Hitesh Prajapat. Mali, a resident of Barabagh area, was agitated and demanded the return of his mobile phone, recounted eyewitnesses. The situation quickly escalated when Prajapat refused to comply, citing an unresolved financial dispute.
Despite attempts by Hitesh's brother, Chandraprakash, to pacify the youth, Mali allegedly stormed away from the house. Moments later, in a horrific turn, he doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire just 50 feet from the property. The chilling scene left bystanders in a state of shock.
Speaking to reporters, Chandraprakash recounted the harrowing moment, saying that they saw the flames and rushed to save him. 'We threw soil on him and managed to extinguish the fire. Then we rushed him to Jawahar Hospital," he said.
Mali, who suffered serious burn injuries, was later referred to a medical facility in Jodhpur for advanced treatment.
Cops from Kotwali police station, led by Station House Officer Premdan Ratan, are currently probing the case. 'We are gathering all statements and verifying the facts. Appropriate legal action will follow based on the investigation," he stated.
The incident appears to have stemmed from a bitter monetary dispute. According to Prajapat, Mali had been employed as a delivery agent for Flipkart and was paid Rs 13 per parcel delivered. Prajapat alleged that Mali collected Rs 4,500 from a customer for a delivery but failed to deposit the amount with the company. 'When we asked him to return the money, he abruptly left the job ten days ago and began avoiding our calls," Prajapat claimed.
The tension reportedly intensified when Mali's brother called Prajapat to demand the return of Mali's mobile phone which Prajapat claimed that he had held as leverage to recover the company's dues.

Ex-Premier League referee David Coote banned for 8 weeks over Klopp rant
Former Premier League referee David Coote has been handed an eight-week suspension and directed to complete a face-to-face education programme after making offensive remarks about ex-Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp in a private video that was later widely shared on social media. The incident, which led to his dismissal, was reviewed by an independent regulatory commission that announced the disciplinary action on Tuesday. Coote accepted the Football Association's charge of misconduct for using abusive and insulting language in a video reportedly recorded around July 2020. The footage, believed to have been taken via a mobile phone, showed Coote sharing personal opinions about Liverpool FC and Klopp in a conversation with an unidentified individual. Coote faces consequences for his comments In the video, Coote referred to Liverpool with an expletive and used a derogatory term to describe Klopp, calling the German manager 'arrogant' and accusing him of previously alleging that Coote had lied during a post-match exchange. The FA deemed the remarks an "aggravated breach" of its rules, citing the inclusion of references, explicit or implied, to nationality. Coote was initially suspended, and after a formal investigation, he was terminated from his position in December by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), who stated his continued role was 'untenable.' In addition to this case, Coote had previously faced scrutiny following a report by The Sun, which claimed he discussed issuing a yellow card with a fan during a match. Coote denied the allegations, and the FA confirmed in June that no charges would be filed regarding that incident. Meanwhile, UEFA has also opened an inquiry into Coote after a separate video, again published by The Sun, allegedly showed him using cocaine during this year's European Championship.

Opposition protest against Bihar voter list, wear onion garlands to support farmers
11:17 First raids are being conducted in the Kashmir genocide case, with the Special Investigating Agency (SIA) raiding eight locations in Srinagar, including the home of ex-JKLF chief Yasin Malik. This development comes 35 years after the murder of Kashmiri Pandit Sarla Bhatt in 1990, a case that has been reopened by the Lieutenant Governor. Sarla Bhatt, a nurse, was abducted, gang-raped, tortured, and brutally killed by terrorists belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. The reopening of these cases follows the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, aiming to bring justice to the victims of killings of innocent Kashmiri people, including Kashmiri Pandits, in the 1990s. As one person stated, "It's very good news because though justice is coming late, but it's coming."
