Penn State DE Max Granville sustains long-term injury
Penn State's depth at defensive end has taken another hit. According to a report by Tyler Donohue of Lions247, Nittany Lion Max Granville has sustained a "long-term injury," which likely means he'll miss a portion of the season, if not all of it. Penn State also saw departures from Abdul Carter, Amin Vanover, Smith Vilbert and Joseph Mupoyi this offseason, leading to lots of turnover within the position room heading into the 2025 season. Granville was considered a contender to start opposite Dani Dennis-Sutton, with Zuriah Fisher and Jaylen Harvey also in the mix. Regardless of whether he earned a starting role, the redshirt freshman was expected to be a key contributor this fall. Granville appeared in four regular season games and three postseason games for Penn State last season, allowing him to maintain his redshirt status while getting plenty of reps.
