The inspirational founder of a watersports centre in Pembrokeshire has been presented an RYA Cymru Wales Impact Award in recognition of her work to make activities afloat accessible and inclusive for all.
The awards are made by sailing's governing body in Wales to celebrate those who go above and beyond to help people enjoy getting on the water.
Sarah Bagley, Director of Windswept in Dale, was nominated for the award by local mum-of-four Rebecca Bell for her commitment to watersports and for supporting and encouraging children and young people.
Rebecca said all her children developed a love of watersports thanks to Sarah and the Windswept team, including her eldest son, who has autism, and daughter Keira, aged 15, who now enjoys competing and volunteers her own time as an assistant sailing instructor for the junior section at Neyland Yacht Club. In the nomination, Rebecca explained: 'Sarah is kind-hearted and knowledgeable and a brilliant role model. She is an inspiration to young people and a constant on the watersports scene, happy to help anyone learning new skills, and deserves recognition for her amazing attitude to supporting others.'
Windswept is a not-for-profit community interest company, set up by Sarah in 2020 with a mission to provide affordable opportunities for everyone to enjoy watersports by removing barriers and finding new ways to promote participation.

'I'm really honoured to have an Impact Award,' said Sarah. 'Watersports can be expensive so my passion is making it accessible and creating opportunities for everyone, and I've been lucky enough to start Windswept to make that happen.
'I enjoy teaching on the water and seeing people smiling and having a good time, including children who might be excited, or may be a bit scared or thinking they're not good at anything, then realising they can do it! To see young people change and become more independent and confident is really rewarding.'
Windswept is dedicated to creating pathways for young people and offers subsidised training for aspiring watersports instructors. In partnership with Celtic Deep there is also a scheme for anyone aged 14-25 to gain qualifications to work on the water, or access other education and employment opportunities.
In addition to running Windswept's activities, Sarah and her team regularly volunteer to support community activities and events.
The RYA Cymru Wales Impact Awards recognise those who go the extra mile to support activities afloat. Presenting the award, Club Development Officer Hester Walker said : 'Windswept provides sessions for the local community and children at very low cost to make the sport accessible, and Sarah is creative, passionate and fun, promoting innovation and the continual development of staff, equipment and new projects.'

Private carrier Flexjet valued at $4 billion in latest funding round, Financial Times reports
(Reuters) -U.S. private jet operator Flexjet raised $800 million in a funding round led by LVMH-backed private equity firm L Catterton, valuing the company at about $4 billion, Financial Times reported on Monday. The funding comes as Flexjet looks to expand its fleet to meet rising demand from technology and cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, the report said. "We have a tremendous amount of different types of entrepreneurs this year. . . in the tech space but also Bitcoin, they become so speculative and so there is rapid wealth in that industry," Flexjet Chair Kenn Ricci told the newspaper. Earlier in February, Brazilian planemaker Embraer signed a purchase deal worth up to $7 billion with Flexjet for a fleet of Phenom and Praetor executive jets, including firm orders for 182 aircraft and options for another 30. Analysts at JPMorgan expect the deal to increase Embraer's total backlog by about 26% to $28.7 billion, forecasting deliveries over the next five years, as Flexjet plans to double its fleet during the period. Knueppel scores 21 as Hornets win first NBA Summer League title by holding off the Kings
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Kon Knueppel, the fourth pick in this year's draft, scored 21 points and Charlotte held off a Sacramento rally to beat the Kings 83-78 on Sunday for the Hornets' first NBA Summer League title. Ryan Kalkbrenner added 15 points and three other players each scored 11 for the Hornets, who ended their Summer League run with a 6-0 record. Isaac Jones had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento (5-1), and Devin Carter scored 13. Nique Clifford, drafted 24th, finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. He entered the game averaging averaging 16.2 points and 6.2 rebounds. The Kings lost for the first time in three trips to the final. They won titles in 2014 and 2021. Knueppel continued his hot play after scoring five points in his opener. He averaged 18.3 points over his final four games. The Hornets dominated early, leading by 36-18 in the second quarter. The Kings came back, and Jones twice cut the deficit to a point late — a follow with 1:17 left and a 3-pointer with 20.3 seconds remaining. But the Hornets closed out the game at the free-throw line, three players making 5 of 6. Hornets center James Banks III was ejected with 3:47 left in the third quarter after picking up a flagrant-two foul for an elbow to Sacramento center Dylan Cardwell's face. Hedge funds dumped Japanese stocks ahead of upper house election, says Goldman
By Summer Zhen HONG KONG (Reuters) -Global hedge funds offloaded Japanese equities at the sharpest pace in almost two-and-a-half months last week, just ahead of the country's upper house election on Sunday, Goldman Sachs said in a note. Sunday's election dealt a major blow to Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and his ruling coalition, just as investors who had been selling Japanese bonds and stocks in the run up to the election had expected. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 and Topix have dropped 1.7% and 0.6%, respectively so far this month, bucking the rally in other stock markets. Both indexes closed down on Friday. Sunday's outcome further weakens Ishiba's grip on power, even though he has vowed to remain party leader to complete trade tariff negotiations with the United States. The selling by hedge funds between July 11 and July 17 was mainly driven by increased short bets and a relatively moderate reduction in long positions, according to a Goldman Sachs prime brokerage note on Friday, seen by Reuters on Monday. Markets in Japan were closed for a holiday on Monday, but the yen strengthened while Nikkei futures rose slightly, as the election results appeared to be already priced in. Overall, hedge funds remain overweight Japan compared to its weight in the MSCI World Index by 0.6%, Goldman said. Analysts said uncertainty about the prime minister's future has increased and could lead to "policy paralysis" and larger fiscal deficits. "This marks the first time since 1955 that the LDP-led government has fallen below a majority in both the lower and upper house, potentially increasing political instability in Japan," MUFG analysts said in a note.
