G42 Establishes G42 Europe & UK - Middle East Business News and Information
Abu Dhabi, UAE – Friday, June 2025 – G42, the leading UAE-based artificial intelligence and advanced technology group, today announced the launch of G42 Europe & UK, a subsidiary headquartered in London. The entity will focus on delivering tailored AI solutions to Europe and UK's private sector and partnering with governments and industry to support the build-out of critical AI infrastructure across the UK and continental Europe.
G42 Europe & UK will be co-chaired by two seasoned technology leaders:
Omar Mir, International Board Member at World Wide Technology, brings over 20 years of global tech-industry experience. At WWT, Omar has spearheaded transformative initiatives across UK, Europe, the USA, and the Middle East,—driving growth in 5G, edge computing, cloud, and AI services and solutions.
Marty Edelman, Group General Counsel of G42, oversees legal and compliance strategy across the Group's diverse global operations and has been instrumental in shaping G42's governance framework as it extends into new markets.

The new entity will also collaborate with national and regional bodies to advance data-sovereignty initiatives and support the rollout of next-generation AI infrastructure.

UAE Chambers explores investment opportunities with Mali - Middle East Business News and Information
The Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry highlighted investment opportunities in the Republic of Mali during the UAE-Mali Business Forum, hosted by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI, in collaboration with UAE Chambers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs MoFA. H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of SCCI, extended a warm welcome to the Malian trade delegation visiting the UAE from 13 to 18 August. He praised the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and emphasized that the investment opportunities on offer present strong appeal for Emirati investors, especially within the framework of the UAE's economic diversification strategy. Al Owais affirmed the commitment of the UAE Chambers, and specifically the Sharjah Chamber, to actively promote these opportunities among their business communities to encourage investment in Mali, pointing out that they cover a wide range of sectors. He emphasized the UAE business community's growing interest in exploring Mali's investment environment, underlining the UAE Chambers' commitment to strengthen cooperation with their Malian counterparts in the coming period. He pointed out plans to sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing a joint business council that will serve as a structured platform for direct engagement between private sector representatives from both sides. The council will focus on strategic sectors such as agriculture, food security, infrastructure, energy, and mining. Al Owais voiced his optimism that the UAE-Mali Business Forum would serve as a catalyst for expanded trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and Mali. The Malian delegation, headed by Madiou Simpara, President of the Mali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented a portfolio of investment opportunities to the UAE side. The proposed projects span key sectors such as renewable energy, artesian wells, and infrastructure development, and include the establishment of both a large-scale commercial complex and a sports complex. Additional opportunities covered manufacturing, urban development, and land transport sectors in addition to the construction of a state-of-the-art international hospital. Madiou Simpara invited UAE business sector's representatives to visit Mali and assess firsthand the viable investment opportunities of mutual economic value. He noted that the Chamber of Mali seeks to foster stronger collaboration with the UAE chambers across multiple sectors, with the objective of advancing commercial cooperation and reinforcing bilateral trade ties.

How Tamashee Turns Sandal-Making Into Cultural Journeys It started with a sandal. The founders of Gulf-based design studio Tamashee, Muneera Al Tamimi and Mohammed Kazim, took that everyday object apart — tracing materials to their sources, following old trade routes, and reviving craft techniques that had slipped from view — to see what a Gulf sandal could still mean today. Curiosity about how things were made soon became a method: research first, then design shaped by what the fieldwork revealed. That method now shows across three connected strands: Tamashee Products, Tamashee Soul, and Tamashee Experience. The studio turns field notes into objects, runs a research arm that records oral histories and endangered crafts, and runs guided cultural trips that put participants in direct contact with the places and people behind the work. The streams move into one another: products are sourced from research, research is tested in the field, and trips bring the whole cycle to life. On the product side, the work reads like design with an archive in its pocket. Collections translate regional patterns, colors and shapes into pieces that aim for high quality at accessible price points; turquoise tones that recur in historic Gulf dress reappear in modern silhouettes, ring motifs from traditional footwear surface in detailing, and references to the Hijri calendar crop up as structural or decorative elements. Those choices are traceable to Tamashee's field studies — they're not surface decoration but part of how the pieces are conceived. Tamashee Soul is where that fieldwork lives. Since 2012 the team has been cataloguing techniques, recording storytellers, and assembling material that otherwise has few formal records. That work feeds workshops, talks and documentaries, and shapes a program of collaborations that spans painters, photographers, sculptors, graffiti artists and musicians from across the GCC. Community projects and curated events grow from the same research: the studio documents a craft, then finds ways to show it, teach it or sustain the people who keep it alive. The culture tours are where Tamashee's research becomes immediate. The studio runs both public departures and private, customizable trips that visit heritage towns, archaeological sites and coastal communities across the Arabian Peninsula — itineraries have included AlUla, Asir, Al Jawf, Tabuk, northern Najd, parts of Oman and the northern Emirates. Days are laid out like field guides: visits to local workshops, demonstrations of traditional techniques, small performances or festival visits when schedules allow, and shared meals where recipes and techniques are as much part of the program as the landscape. These are framed as research-led departures, with clear booking options and group-size limits that keep the trips intimate and practical. What makes the tours useful to the studio is their feedback loop: an embroidery pattern noted in a village becomes a motif in a collection; a recorded interview might form the backbone of a short film shown at a workshop. That interchange keeps the work practical — objects you can wear or use — while anchoring them in stories and people rather than in vague heritage language. Tamashee lays its values across everything it does: preserving identity through primary research, representing culture by reshaping traditional forms for contemporary life, and creating avenues for regional makers and emerging creatives to reach a wider audience. The result is a practice that treats heritage as something active and adaptable.
