Summerfest in Milwaukee adds two new artists to replace former headliner Nessa Barrett
Claire Rosinkranz and Sofia Camara — two emerging pop singers whose songs have found success on TikTok — will now perform at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard June 26, fest officials revealed June 12. Camara's set is at 8:45 p.m.; Rosinkranz will close out the stage at 10 p.m.
Barrett had been booked to play the 10 p.m. slot on the stage June 26 but dropped out of the lineup June 6 due to "a scheduling conflict," according to a Facebook post on the Summerfest page.
It's just one of the headliner shakeups that fest officials have had to work through as the Big Gig's opening day, June 19, approaches.
On June 4, country-rock band Whiskey Myers announced it could no longer headline Summerfest's Miller Lite Oasis June 21 due to a family matter. Fest officials confirmed on Facebook the band will play Summerfest in 2026, with details to be announced.
On June 12, a replacement for Whiskey Myers was revealed — rapper and singer (and University of Wisconsin-Madison alum) Yung Gravy, who has also dipped into country, including a collaboration with Shania Twain.
Gravy is used to saving the day at Summerfest. In 2023, after headlining the festival's Generac Power Stage, he was recruited to lead a free show at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater after the previously lined-up fill-in, AJR, had to cancel because of illness in the family. AJR had been promoted to amphitheater headliner when Summerfest's first choice for the date, ailing pop legend Jimmy Buffett, pulled out.
Also on June 12, Summerfest officials revealed on Facebook that hip-hop veterans Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony would no longer perform the Aurora Pavilion's primary headlining slot at 7 p.m. June 19 "due to unforeseen circumstances." The group has been replaced by rapper Bow Wow.
It's the second headliner to drop out from a show on that Summerfest stage this year. In May, singer-songwriter Julien Baker canceled her summer tour including a June 27 co-headlining show with Torres. Torres was rebooked for a solo set on that stage earlier in the day, and Rubblebucket was added to the original Baker-Torres slot.
Summerfest will take place at Maier Festival Park June 19 to 21, June 26 to 28 and July 3 to 5.

The droid doesn't have a face, just that George Lucas-designed chrome head that looks like a drawing of a Borzoi from memory. Still, it's obviously dejected. The air around the droid is bullying it with colorful insults: tin skin, sparky, oil slurper, and, the lone jeer that's canon, clanker. The drawing was posted on X over the weekend by a user claiming their son was the original artist. They couldn't have known that their post would kick off a debate about racial slurs and the rush to adopt new epithets for outgroups. Many social media users accused the slang term, which has grown in popularity on apps like TikTok, of being thinly veiled racism and an opportunity to say slurs without consequences. 'The 'clanker' meme is really weird and feels like an excuse for white people to almost say slurs with plausible deniability,' one user wrote. 'The clanker jokes are funny until you clock that white people are itching to call ANYTHING a slur,' wrote another. The term originated in the 'Star Wars' universe as a derogatory term for omnipresent droids. It remained popular in that fandom, particularly among gamers making in-jokes about 'Star Wars: Battlefront' and other releases set in the galaxy far, far away. The term for an automaton picked up steam elsewhere with the advent of artificial intelligence and the wider adoption of delivery robots. The jury's still out on whether the term can be considered offensive, and it's already found its way into polite society. Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego used the term while promoting a piece of legislation that would cut down on automated customer service lines. 'Sick of yelling 'REPRESENTATIVE' into the phone 10 times just to talk to a human being?' he wrote on X in July. 'My new bill makes sure you don't have to talk to a clanker if you don't want to.' White House launches official TikTok account with Trump featured prominently in debut video
From Pennsylvania Avenue to your For You page, the White House launched its official TikTok account on Tuesday afternoon. The verified account @whitehouse garnered thousands of followers within less than an hour. The bio reads "Welcome to the Golden Age of America." President Donald Trump is front and center in the White House's first video, which is captioned, "America we are BACK! What's up TikTok?" The post features footage of the president from rallies and notable appearances. "Every day, I wake up determined to deliver a better life for the people all across this nation. I am your voice," Trump said in a voice-over amid cheers. The White House also announced on X it had joined the popular social media platform. Though the White House is new to the platform, Trump launched his personal TikTok account @realdonaldtrump in June 2024, in an apparent effort to connect with young voters. His debut video went viral, generating millions of likes and views. His granddaughter, Kai Trump, also gained stardom on the app after her appearance at the 2024 Republican National Convention. She has posted viral behind-the-scenes videos of the White House and now has more than 3 million followers. The creation of Trump's personal account came nearly four years after he issued an executive order to ban the app unless it was sold to an American buyer, which was later blocked by a federal judge and never went into effect. Separately, at the beginning of 2024, Congress passed a law requiring ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, to divest or face a ban. On his first day in office, the president signed an executive order directing the Justice Department to not enforce the TikTok ban for 75 days. Trump issued a second 75-day extension in April and a third 90-day extension in June to allow for negotiations. ByteDance must sell its U.S. operations by Sept. 17, unless another extension is issued.
