Ford Factory Prototype Program Returning to WEC, Le Mans in 2027
Ford is going back to Le Mans with designs on competing for an overall victory.
Ford Performance officials confirmed Thursday night what had been rumored for some time that the company will be entering a full factory LMDh team in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2027. And that entry will include a return trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Hypercar prototype class.
Ford took the overall win at Le Mans four consecutive years, from 1966-1969. It took a class victory in 2016 with its Ford GT effort.
Ford has raced in recent years at Le Mans with customer teams in the GT class, most recently with a three-car Ford Mustang GT3 team run by the German-based Proton Competition team.
There was no mention of a rumored possible entry in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, which includes the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
'We are entering a new era for performance and racing at Ford," said Ford Motor Company Executive Chair Bill Ford in a press release. "You can see it from what we're doing on-road and off-road. When we race, we race to win.
"And there is no track or race that means more to our history than Le Mans. It is where we took on Ferrari and won in the 1960s. It is where we returned 50 years later and shocked the world and beat Ferrari again. I am thrilled that we're going back to Le Mans and competing at the highest level of endurance racing. We are ready to once again challenge the world, and 'go like hell.''

Liverpool Welcomes New Maestro in Mega Transfer Move
Liverpool Welcomes New Maestro in Mega Transfer Move originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Liverpool's transfer move for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz is complete, with the clubs agreeing to a package of nearly €150m. Advertisement Wirtz, 22, made his debut for Leverkusen at 17 years old and has scored 57 goals in 197 games. He agreed to personal terms about two weeks ago, making him set for his medical and contract signing as each side came to a full agreement. The deal is now the largest transfer in Liverpool history, smashing Virgil Van Dijk's fee of £75m. The young German star is a dynamic attacking midfielder, bringing fabulous creativity to Liverpool's attack. He has a unique ability to find space between the lines with exceptional accuracy when passing the ball. Wirt'z versatility is evident. He can play as a No. 10, false nine, or winger and his work rate is awesome. He's constantly pressing the opposition and looking to create opportunities with his dribbling skills, adding a new dimension to Arne Slot's squad. Advertisement The fee makes him just the 10th player ever to go for £100m or more. It makes him the largest transfer in Premier League history, eclipsing Chelsea's record signing of £115m in 2023 for Moises Caicedo. Wirtz became a crucial piece for Germany during last year's Euros when he became the youngest ever to score for the national team at 21 years and 42 days. The previous record was held by Kai Havertz. Before joining Leverkusen's senior team, Wirtz showcased and developed his skills at 1. FC Köln's youth academy from 2010 to 2020. His rapid rise saw him debut for Leverkusen as a teenager, where he also broke a previous record held by Havertz, becoming the youngest Bundesliga player ever. Advertisement Wirtz's arrival at Liverpool marks an exciting new era for the Reds' attacking aspirations given his international background and quick ascension. Three-Star TE Isaac Jensen commits to Missouri Tigers
Three-Star TE Isaac Jensen commits to Missouri Tigers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Missouri Tigers head coach Elijah Drinkwitz added another piece to his 2026 high school recruiting class on Monday when three-star tight end Isaac Jensen announced his commitment to the Tigers. Advertisement "MIZ! Let's work!" he said in a commitment post shared with On3's Hayes Fawcett and his followers on X. Listed by 247Sports at 6'6" 230lbs, Jensen hails from Millard South High School just outside of Omaha, Nebraska, and he is no stranger to winning. During his first three seasons with the Patriots, Jensen has helped Millard South to a 28-8 record and the 2024 Nebraska Class A Football State Championship. Jensen is the second recruit from the group of prospects that visited Columbia last weekend to choose Mizzou, with Florida-based four-star wide receiver Jabari Brady announcing his commitment to the program on June 7th while still being on campus. Advertisement Michael Swain of 247Sports reported last month that Mizzou is expected to take two tight ends in the 2026 high school class. This is no surprise, as the Tigers have a tight end room that tapers off once you get past junior starter Brett Norfleet, with no clear number two. The next uncommitted tight end set to venture to Columbia for an official visit is Kansas City product Kevin Sullivan on June 20th. Sullivan is set to visit with the Tigers last, after taking official visits to Kansas, Iowa State and Vanderbilt. It remains to be seen how Jensen's commitment will impact Missouri's pursuit of Sullivan, but his recruitment will be another one to watch for Mizzou fans. Monday's news brings the Tigers' 2026 high school class to four, with Jensen joining the aforementioned Jabari Brady along with four-star linebacker Keenan Harris and four-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar. Altman-Backed Coco Robotics Raises $80 Million for Delivery Bots
Coco Robotics, an urban delivery startup using small autonomous robots, has secured $80 million in new funding from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and other investors, Bloomberg reported Wednesday. The financing round was led by venture capital firm SNR, with participation from Pelion Venture Partners, Offline Ventures, and Max Altman, Sam's brother. The latest investment brings Coco's total raised capital to over $110 million. The company did not disclose a new valuation. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 7 Warning Sign with DASH. Founded in 2020 and formally known as Cyan Robotics Inc., the Santa Monica-based startup deploys about 1,300 cooler-sized electric robots across cities including Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and Helsinki. The devices deliver food and small packages and are integrated into logistics platforms from Uber Technologies Inc. (UBER) and DoorDash Inc. (DASH, Financials). Coco also works directly with merchants and recently deepened its partnership with OpenAI. Under a March agreement, the company uses OpenAI's language and vision models alongside its own software stack to help its robots navigate obstacles and make real-time decisions. The two firms also share data from delivery routes to train AI systems. However, CEO Zach Rash said Sam Altman was not involved in structuring that collaboration. Coco is one of several startups racing to bring robotics to last-mile delivery logistics, a segment where cost-cutting and speed remain key challenges. Despite the sector's volatility, investors are betting that Coco's full-stack software and early commercial traction can differentiate it in a growing market. This article first appeared on GuruFocus.
