Two Fort Worth men arrested after woman claims she was kidnapped by ex
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Two Fort Worth men are facing multiple felony charges after a woman called 911 from a moving vehicle in Midland, claiming she was being kidnapped and assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. Police arrested both men early Friday morning following a high-risk traffic stop. They are accused of restraining the woman against her will and attempting to discard illegal drugs during the stop.
Jerome Marquise Donavon, 35, and James Albert Williams III, 35, were booked into the Midland County jail on June 6. Both are charged with kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance. Donovon faces additional charges of assault, family violence by impeding breath, and interference with an emergency call.
According to records, on Friday, June 6, Midland dispatch received an open-line 911 call shortly before 1 a.m. from a woman who said she was being kidnapped. The caller, later identified as the victim, could be heard screaming and crying, saying, 'I'm tired of it, kill me. You should have killed me the last time,' before the line disconnected.
Reports showed dispatch tracked her phone's location as it moved through several intersections in Midland, including Loop 250, North Big Spring Street, and eventually Burnett Lane, where the woman told police she had been thrown from a moving vehicle. She described the suspect's car as an older white Buick with a broken rear window.
Officers later located a vehicle matching that description on Big Spring Street and initiated a traffic stop. As police activated their emergency lights, they saw the front passenger toss a baggie containing a white, rock-like substance out the window, later confirmed to be what officers described as crack cocaine, weighing 22.1 grams.
Both men were detained during the stop. Williams, who was driving, told officers he had picked up Donovon to go to a bar and denied any knowledge of a female passenger or narcotics. Donovon also denied any assault or involvement with drugs, claiming he had previously given a friend and her daughter a ride.
The victim later told officers that Donavon, her ex-boyfriend, had assaulted her in the back seat of the vehicle while the child locks prevented her escape. She alleged that he strangled her, restricted her breathing, and threw her phone out of the car when she tried to call for help.
According to investigators, the woman's daughter, who was also in the car, reportedly handed her a second phone to call 911 again after she was thrown from the vehicle.
Reports further showed the woman told police she wished to press charges and asked for an emergency protective order.
Additionally, police noted that Donovon had white residue on his hands, which he claimed was due to dry skin. Both suspects denied knowledge of the drugs, but officers determined that, due to their control of the vehicle and the attempt to discard narcotics during the stop, both men would be charged with possession.
Reports said that based on the totality of the circumstances, including Donavon's alleged assault of the victim, the use of child locks to restrain her, the destruction of her phone to prevent emergency calls, and the recovery of 22.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine tossed from his side of the vehicle, police placed Donavon under arrest on multiple charges. Williams, as the driver of the vehicle and a participant in preventing the woman's escape, was also arrested in connection with the kidnapping and drug possession.
Donovon was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault of a family/household member by impeding breath, both third-degree felonies, possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and interference with an emergency call, a class A misdemeanor. His combined bond is set at $100,500.
Williams was arrested and also charged with kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance. His combined bond is sent at 75,000.
As of Tuesday, both men remain in the Midland County Detention Center. All charges remain pending.

Midland man arrested for allegedly using truck to hit wife during domestic dispute
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A Midland man is facing a felony charge after police say he intentionally struck his wife with a vehicle during an argument Saturday morning. 61-year-old Ralph Allan Olson was arrested on June 7 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. His bond was set at $75,000. As of Monday, Olson remained in custody at the Midland County Detention Center. No attorney was listed for him in court records. According to an arrest affidavit, Midland Police responded to a call just after 9 a.m., near Holloway Drive, for a reported accident involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found the victim, identified as Olson's wife, with visible scrapes and bruises on both knees and her left arm. Olson allegedly told officers that he and his wife had been in a verbal argument earlier that morning. He said he left the home but returned a short time later and saw her walking near the curb. Olson admitted he 'sped by out of spite' following the argument and struck her with his brown Ford F-150 on the passenger side of the vehicle. The victim confirmed the couple had been arguing and said she was walking along the curb when she noticed Olson's truck approaching. She told officers she was struck by the passenger-side hood and mirror, which knocked her to the ground. Despite her injuries, she initially told police she did not want to pursue charges. However, officers reviewed security footage from a nearby residence, which reportedly showed Olson driving at a high rate of speed through the residential neighborhood and making no attempt to avoid hitting the woman until after the impact. The video also showed that the victim was walking near the curb and not obstructing the roadway. Several witnesses told police that Olson did not immediately return to the scene after the collision. Due to the totality of the evidence, including Olson's admission, video footage, and eyewitness accounts, he was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to Midland County Detention Center's Page, Olson remains in custody as of Wednesday, June 11. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Deputy: Vehicle wanted in Rock Falls search found 2 hours later with new driver, meth
Jun. 11—MORRISON — A Rock Falls man taken into police custody May 29 after the vehicle he was driving caught the eye of police as they worked on an unrelated case has pleaded not guilty to meth charges that could land him in prison for decades. Gregory S. McElhiney, 42, pleaded not guilty Monda to charges of unlawful possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth. He was formally charged with those offenses May 30. During a preliminary hearing Monday at the Whiteside County Courthouse, Whiteside County Sheriff's Deputy David Gottomoller testified about the circumstances that led to McElhiney's arrest. Gottomoller said that shortly after 6:30 p.m. May 29, he received information that a person of interest in another case had been seen leaving the Beverage Store in Rock Falls. Gottomoller said he was given a description of the vehicle, a silver Buick, but he was unable to find it. A couple of hours later, Gottomoller saw a vehicle matching that description, with the same license plates, traveling on a street in Rock Falls. Gottomoller did not pull over the vehicle for a traffic stop but instead followed it until it drove down an alley and its driver parked it in a backyard. Gottomoller said that although the vehicle was the same one he had been looking for earlier, the driver turned out to be McElhiney, who was not the same man police had been looking for. Gottomoller said he soon determined that McElhiney was wanted on a warrant and was driving on a revoked license. A tow truck was called to tow the vehicle, a usual protocol, Gottomoller said, and the items inside the vehicle were inventoried. That's when police found 102 grams of meth, Gottomoller said. He said 1/8 -ounce bags of the drug were found in a front seat compartment, as were hypodermic needles. More meth was found in packages in the vehicle, Gottomoller said. McElhiney, who also was charged with driving on a revoked license, was brought to the Whiteside County Jail. He pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday and has demanded a speedy trial. Unlawful possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth with intent to deliver is a Class X felony that carries a possible 30-year prison sentence. Before this arrest, McElhiney was charged in an August case with possession of weapons as a felon and criminal damage to property. He had been granted pretrial release in that case, but it was revoked in light of the newest charges, and he remains jailed. McElhiney also is facing charges in two other cases, according to court documents. They are: * an April 2024 case accusing him of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked license. Both are misdemeanors. * a May 2024 charge of driving on a revoked license, a misdemeanor. He is set to make a court appearance at 9 a.m. June 25 at a pretrial conference in Whiteside County Circuit Court. A tentative trial date is set for July 15.
