I'll die here," before later asserting, "I'm West Virginia's First Daughter."Retton later entered a no-contest plea and was fined $100. 2010 D'sthala murder case closed in a haste, claims activist
Mangaluru: Activist Jayanth T has raised fresh questions over the handling of an alleged 2010 murder case in Dharmasthala, claiming that the authorities had hurried through the burial without a proper probe. He alleged on Saturday a woman, aged around 40, was reportedly murdered on Apil 6, 2010, and the body was hurriedly buried through the local gram panchayat despite it being a murder case. Meanwhile, SIT continued with its investigation into the alleged Dharmasthala mass burial case on Saturday. The team reportedly questioned the complainant-witness. Regarding the alleged 2010 murder case, citing records obtained under the RTI Act, including bills related to the burial, Jayanth questioned why the case was closed in haste, with the authorities making no effort to get to the bottom of the truth. He said he would soon be submitting a detailed complaint based on RTI documents sought from 1995 to 2024 and demanded action against those who had allegedly tampered with evidence. "We are not against any temple or individual, but action needs to be taken against those responsible for the lapses," he added. Jayanth added that on Aug 4, he visited the office of the special investigation team (SIT) to file a complaint about a minor girl who was allegedly buried, and sought action against those involved in the crime, including a cop. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He claimed he had provided information on and the names of persons with knowledge about the incident. The SIT has summoned all of them for questioning and inspected the site. Jayanth was also taken for a spot mahazar. According to the SIT, exhumation could be necessary. "I told them that if my complaint is found to be false, they can close the case immediately or take action against me," Jayanth further said. He further alleged that a former panchayat president attempted to assault a witness, and he had filed a police complaint in this regard. "People are afraid to come forward," he added.
